This is a nicely curated box. Matching the needle minder to the pattern & the sticker to the BOM is one of those little "attention to detail" moments that show they put some thought into the collection. The box bag/clutch looks like it would be fun to make (and also a great beginner project; quilt-as-you-go is a very forgiving technique, and having the zipper pre-sewn would remove a lot of anxiety for a first-timer). I was trying to articulate to myself how I felt about the fabrics, and you nailed it: it's not what I would have picked for myself, but it is cute. Pretty colors, the florals aren't overly busy, and they all look good together.
The price for this one is pleasantly astonishing. A project, a quilt pattern with matching needleminder, a BOM with matching sticker, a project journal, six fat quarters and I believe you said at the beginning that there's also a coupon? All that for only $30? That is an amazing bargain any way you look at it. It's a 10 out of 10 from me.
BTW, the quilt that shows up on the red carpet at 17:57 is GORGEOUS. I've never seen a pattern quite like it before, the colors are exquisite, and the black against the bright background was an excellent choice.

This was a great box. I had those two vaccines together, and you are right the side effects are not great. But was worth it once all was said and done. Love on that baby and enjoy every minute. They are not live vaccines and do not shed. Short or long- your nails are beautiful!
Sew sampler is always good and so worth the cost. I give this box a 9.5. 2 nice projects. Make sure you show use the bag/tote when you do it.
This was an excellent value. The material was pretty and I’d make everything. I think if you change the bottom of the spool it will look like the flower pots you prefer.

Hi Holly! The box is a 10 in my opinion. Those zippers are a great idea! I would love to see how well they work. Also the journal is awesome and I collect the needle minders. They are very handy especially for hand work. As far as the shots go..get them. To say anything is 100% is well not logical to me. I am a nurse as well so I recommend if you're not feeling well don't go around River otherwise I would not worry about it. She's somewhat protected by mom as well. The shingles shots of which there are 2 of them each 4-5 months apart. This is probably the most painful I've had at the injection site beginning the next day for the next several days . Most vaccines these days are not live viruses. I don't know of any that are but I certainly don't know everything either. If you have any concerns just check with your primary Dr or ask the pharmacist. Good luck🌟💜

The fabric today was beautiful. Isn't it funny how so many of us our grandmothers, but are all known as something different. I am Granda. My grandson just cut grandma a little short. It's better than when he first started to talk and he called me "Gar", Sending Light and Love to Everyone. ❤🙏❤

I like EVERYthing in my sew sampler. Replace the bottom band of your bobbin pattern with background fabric to make it a pot. Now your pattern is awesome! I am fine with the bobbins. I don't unusually like pastels, but this is cute. This might have to be a baby quilt with so many babies coming. Love this box and the 2 possible projects for the low price. 10!

I couldn’t watch your video this morning, so I had to wait until my own box arrived first. I got to open it this afternoon and loved it. I had just started my subscription again after cancelling it last year. I loved this box 10/10 for me. Fantastic value this month.

I like the fact that you can laugh at yourself, thats kinda how i handle situations too. The box was definitely a good deal, so a 10 for me. I will be getting the singles vaccine soon, hopefully, so i don't know much about the effects to share sorry.
Holly, I am a retired Nicu nurse and grandmother of an extremely premature (29 weeks, 1 pound 6 oz) little girl. I would recommend you get the shots. You will not be contagious. And it will be safer for both of you in the future. My granddaughter is now 10 years old and thriving.

I did fine with both shots, given separately. I’d listen to your doctor. Also, if you don’t like the bobbins in the quilt pattern, change the pattern to look more like pots. It’s a little more time consuming, but worth it when you consider how long the quilt will be around.
You hang in there, Holly. My Mom was diagnosed with Parkinsons. She has good days and bad days, too. She takes cardidopa levidopa for her tremors. It works.
Get your shots and see River in a couple weeks. River needs Gamma Holly to be healthy to keep holding River. Keeping you in my prayers.
Holly, I just checked the CDC sight and he recommend avoiding premature or low birthweight babies. Love your attitude toward your condition. It really helps me to cope with my arthritis. Take care and God bless both you and River.

i kept this box…. glad i did it is a wonderful a 10… this month i actually liked it best of all the boxes! i ordered the shoreline fabric pack for the BOM what a deal and that is lovely fabric too ! now that is mine kind of zipper in that june tailor pack! please do a sew a long! that pattern would be easy to change stools into flower pots.

Great box! I vote it an 8 only because I am over all the needle minders from the sew sampler boxes. I would say air on the side of caution and wait to hold River until you are safe. I know that will feel like forever but if there is any chance I would stay away. Have a blessed day!

Quilts on TV amazing - sampler would be an 8 for me
this box is a 7 for me. I'm being tough this morning. Not crazy about the fabrics and I hate clutch purses. The rest was great. The shots are dead strains (something like that), But you never want to risk it. I get it.
Don't love the fabric this time, but certainly a great value in that box. I give it a 9.
My arms had fever after the shots and the shingles shot was tender for about a week

10 for me for Sew Sampler! The value vs the price, you can’t beat it. Love the fabric - will probably do the project and try my luck with the June Taylor bag! The I’ve had shingles twice but probably because my immune system was low due to chemo treatments. I’ve never heard that the shots would give the virus to others - very interesting!
Oh Holly, you will not be contagious to River or anyone else. If I was you I would take a couple Aleve or Tylenol before getting shots. 😂 I ended up with shingles a few years back and never did get the shot! Hopefully you don’t have to go through that. I’m thinking your upcoming vaca is what you need. Getting all these repairs in your home is very exhausting, well for me it is. Great SS box, love the journal. I give it a 9

First of all, I would never get 2 shots together (Speaking from experience!)! Secondly, I would not take a chance going by the baby, just to err on the side of caution. I would say to you, wait for a better time to visit.💜

Hi Holly, I really like this box. I give it a 9. If you don't like the spools, just adjust the pattern to make flower pots. I was watching Katy Couric today on youtube and she was interviewing a woman who was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 43. It was quite informative. Would you have time before your shot appointment to visit River ? I haven't had either one of these shots, but I understand even flu shots do not contain the active virus (like they did years ago). I personally would stay away from the baby just as a precaution. Have a good day.

This was the first box I have ever ordered and I give it a 10! I much prefer the downloadable pattern. I love the fabric and could use it in so many ways. There was also a coupon for $10 if you spend $50 so super great value.

Believe the doctor’s office, you won’t be contagious. Have you gotten an RSV shot yet? I am planning to get mine to help protect our new grandbaby who is due in July. My daughter (a nurse) asked me to wait until after he arrives to give the most protection. I also react in a big way but just remind myself that means my immune system is working well!
My insurance would not cover the RSV shot. Tom's going to look into it. Stupid insurance.
I take every flu shot, Covid vaccination, pneumonia, etc. that is available. However, my neurologist advised me NOT to take the shingles shot, because of the specific type of autoimmune condition I have, which affects the peripheral nerves (not MS, but in the same family of diseases as MS).
Hi Holly. Such a lovely box and fabric. I watched a bit of the fat quarter shops live show last Friday and the lady who designed this fabric was on. She had a bunch of show and tell and other fun things. If you have a chance you should check it out. Happy to see you’re keeping the box today. great box..it’s an 11 for me. As a RN, no worries about being contagious. Love that pumpkin, they grow up sooo fast.
Ask the neonatal or pediatrician physician, for peace of mind. These vaccines are not live viruses but attenuated (dead) viruses. As an FNP I think the protection from these viruses out weighs the miniscule possibility of infecting River. Shingles comes from having chicken pox that turns into varicella zoster.
The Sew Sampler box was a 10 for me because it was a thoughtful creative box with the fabric, pattern, and needle minder matching. The same for the sticker and the BOM. The notions were relevant to the pattern and fabric. That is what makes a 10 box, not just stuff thrown in at the last minute. The fabric is not my preference but that does not negate it's a 10 box.
The pouch/clutch kit was different as it said on the cover that it was designed to use with AccuQuilt dies. The "sewn" in zipper was genius along with the AccuQuilt to make it easy for someone with manual dexterity or visual problems. June Tailor is now with AccuQuilt and developing products to use with AccuQuilt.

That is quite a box. I am very impressed . Sew Sampler rarely disappoints. I was a subscriber but I just couldn’t catch up lol. Definitely worth the money. But now Fatquarters has me with their cross stitch supplies and videos lol. This box gets a 10+. Nothing wrong with your nails. You look fab.

I'd rather have another notion instead of a sticker, nice journal, cool zipper idea, all that fabric for that price means my vote would be a 10.
My dad’s doctor suggested only one vaccine at a time. Much easier on the system

I'm a trainer and we do a customer service activity called Feel the Color and we do the days of the week...you can totally associate a color with any given day and it works! Lol I'm usually a yellow on Monday and then a red on Friday! I just bought a fat eighth bundle of Flower Girl and I'm so excited! What a wonderful first collection for Heather!

I really liked this Sew Sampler box. I would give it a 9. When I got the vaccines, I asked my doctor because I was a full time caregiver to my elderly mom before she passed and still with my elderly dad. He said that it is not a live virus therefore I would not be contagious. I also get every side effect imaginable. My doctor recommended to me to get one vaccine at a time with a minimum of 2 weeks between vaccinations. He said there aren’t enough studies showing that getting them at the same time are a good idea and could potentially impact their efficacy. It seems like you get different opinions from different doctors. I hope you have a wonderful day!😊
MY FAVORITE FABRIC I'VE BEEN WATCHING FOR MONTHS!!! And, of course, I cancelled the FQS after 4 uears of getting it. The past box was my last one - go figure.

I got b oth shots together and hardly had any effects, tiny bit sore for a few days, but my flu shot a few weeks after left me sore for at least a month, go figure😢. Love the box, 9.5 for me, colors too light for me, but fantastic otherwise.

Hey sweet Holly. My precious bother, who has left this world, gave me a gold nugget years ago when I was caught in indecision. He said, "if in doubt, don't." That has helped me so much thru time. How long do the people saying you could be contagious, say the danger last after the shot? If you decide to "don't, you can face time her. Sorry this is even an issue. Listen to your gut, it'll lead ya right. ❤❤❤ be sure and show us the clutch if ya make it. That was too cute. I give this box a big ol 10.

I think you are correct in saying, "you either are, or you are not" The medical industry should be able to tell you the correct answer. Since you don't have that answer, and you are concerned, I would say, "err on the side of cauthion" .

Not impressed with this month's box altho it is better than March's box was! It's been a long time since I was surprised and 100% happy with their boxes. Often think about stopping my subscription but then, of course, worry about missing out. Best of luck with your immunizations. The baby will be fine

I like the box, I don't care for the fabric with the pattern though. The pattern looks like it should be a quilt quilt not a table topper - SOOOO - I have to buy more fabric and make a quilt 😬 I do wish there would have been a nice big Aurifil thread in the box instead of the sticker and the needle holder.
I had both of those shots at the same time and I was sicker than a dog for two weeks - my arm actually hurt for three. I'm supposed to get the next shingles shot Friday and I've been planning on being more sick than the first set of shots. I have something called Stephen Johnson Syndrome and basically have an allergic reaction to all kinds of meds. It didn't put me in the hospital this time so I'll get the next shot but man Holly, I was really sick, like I had the flu. I turn 65 in two weeks so that might have something to do with it also - boomer from Boomerland.
I agree with the thread idea! I would be shocked and sew happy for that!
I question the term ‘kit’ when the bag didn’t clearly include the fabric. It looked like there was too much in the small bundle for the bag, and too little for the quilt pattern.
