- This episode launches a series on quantum mechanics and its presumed relationship to metaphysical ideas, religion, theology, and the paranormal. During the series we’ll be joined by Dr. Rob (“Putty”) Putman, who holds a PhD in theoretical quantum physics, but now pastors a church in Illinois. In this first episode, we survey the history of quantum mechanics and talk about how some of the important ideas are used to make metaphysical statements about all of reality-statements that are inherently theological and religious. Are such statements accurate? What can we really say about the nature of reality and God on the basis of quantum physics?

what I've learned about Quantum Theory is we don't know shit about shinola... similar to our actual knowledge of God... I've always said, how can a three dimensional brain even comprehend the multidimensional Creator of dimensions
All things are possible with God except He cannot fail and He cannot lie. This is the thought that came to my mind. Scientists should recognize at this point that science is always in a state of change because we are still learning. The Creator's mind is too marvelous for my puny brain.

Infinite parallel processing....wow! If that's true, then anything is possible at all times. This makes sense if we think about what we say about God; an infinite, personal being with which anything is possible through out eternity (non-time). What is quite curious to me, is how order (what we observe and experience) is built upon chaos. Doesn't any particle in this universe that is not sub-atomic follow General Relativity principles? Why discuss people walking through walls, etc... Wait! Something I heard made me think that the quantum chaos actually provides for the above quantum order! Am I stupid or nuts? :-)
Here's an experiment for what ? But day dream with the clouds in your view (physically)as you meditate in peace on the ground (preferably in the cool breeze of the day) laying in the gress...

This was a great series and a wonderful podcast! I am reviewing this series once again as part of my research for an alt-history sci-fi book I am writing. When we adhere to an a priori commitment to realism as fundamental, QM becomes "undeniably true, yet it can't be." Despite the best efforts of Realists (with things like Bohmian mechanics, decoherence, and Everrettian approaches) there is this tension between materiality and observation that defies all attempts to resolve. More than any single thing, the Bible, the phenomena Putty discusses, and the double slit experiments made me a believer in Copenhagen and in a fundamental idealism.
Mutually inclusive and exclusive, depending on the observer. The observed is what you see.
how this affects me on a personal level: there are infinite Shiloh's, but in this reality, I have decided to follow Yeshua. Will this have quantum effects on the other I's bringing all into reconciliation to Christ? What does this say about others? in a separate reality, another them accepts Yeshua, will it also bring them ultimately into reconciliation? all the infinite me's, their's, your's? also since Satan is excluded from the 3rd dimension ( he cannot by an act of will, nor by providence wholly exist here in physical form, until he embodies the anti-Christ)is he therefore exempt from this phenomena?
You can have √25=5 or -√25=-5 but you cannot have √-25 is that what you are referring to?
I don’t believe faith and science can coexist as I think science is man’s attempt at explaining (away) God, who has already said His ways are above ours.
We can not explain nor fully understand the Great I Am.

@@VossieVos-fu4jc I know that, I went to the website and watched them all. I emailed him and he said he was doing a new on in Early June. I saw it, it was on Orbs. Admitting it was junk. They all laughed at it. There was only one paper.

How about the Spiritual realm crossing over to the physical? What i'm saying is, being sealed as the bible says by the Holy Spirit given to us by Yahshua (Jesus). What I received, as seen in my profile pic at the left are three letters in block form 3/4" high looking like a white tattoo. these came on my left jaw while I was in prayer for a healing of my double broken back. After the heat that came into my back while in prayer left my body it took all the pain with it....I was healed, even though a MRI showed a chunk of my vertebra missing. One year later I started reading the bible for the first time. two years later, doing some Torah reading the Spirit reveled the letters are Hebrew. One more year later, my doctor doing my knee surgery, which is a Jew, told me it is Hebrew, and the name of our Father. I tried to paste my Facebook page, that has a large picture of it that I use in witnessing, but sense a few days ago they won't let me do that anymore....the beast didn't like me sharing my testimony.

@@darlenejames4341 James said 3 letters, he doesn't actually say what those letters are; the Hebrews have many names for our Creator, you have used the standard 4 letter tetragrammaton; Yod Hey Vav Hey. Perhaps James could say what those letters are. The common name Hebrews use is Ha Shem, they do know the pronunciation of the actual name, but that wont be used by them until the Messianic age.
