I heard the flat earth comments in the podcast. I actually wish you would do a peeranormal episode on the flat earth, from the peer reviewed realm of course. I'm very clear that not only does the Bible present the earth as a flat-ish plane with the firmament above, every sense I have matches, every basic test I can think of to try matches, and there's a lack of spherical math within most academic or engineering sources I look into (everything is calculated or based off of a flat plane instead of a rotating sphere). I don't live in a bubble and appreciate information that conflicts with my world view because it makes me think. I'd love to hear a peeranormal take on the flat earth.
It is interesting to think about: • how much of what’s “known” is based upon conjecture and/or circular reasoning. • how much of what’s “understood” is based on a completely false premise. • and finally, realizing how much of what is “believed” isn’t really rational and/or coherent. I was listening to Naked Bible podcast: Hebrews 11...and rejoiced. The gladness I have for the sake/because of faith and belief in Something I’ve never seen...knowing that what is true about Who GOD IS, Who Jesus Christ is and Who the Holy Ghost is (I really enjoy the KJV appellation for The Spirit of God)...knowing that what and who God is is objectively true and Truth! Having been born into what appears to be the end [times] of the Age of Deceit (that began with mankind’s willing belief in a lie)...well, I relish the unmasking of the lies that the age of this world has toiled in for so long. The unburdening of my soul and enlivening of my spirit by the miracle of GOD’s salvation 40 years ago is an ongoing joy in gladness. The relatively current discovery of your work, MJH, is a blessing to my life in Jesus. Thank you (and those who labor with you in your endeavors) very much. Be well!
What a beautiful way of seeing!Very sweet to be around people who are teachable while not being a sucker to every wind of doctrine. If an idea or doctrine can't be defended i'm the weak link....blessings!....Brent
Most of these comments are a Total Hoot! Heiser woke me to the fact that God didn't change the Hebrew culture that much from their neighbors. He allowed Patriarchy as He's the Ultimate Father. He allowed Polygyny: in an age where many kids, especially sons, were a valued asset and ALL Mesopotamian cultures were polygynous, He gave Laws to prevent mistreatment of wives and concubines. He prohibited child sacrifice and many of the greatly immoral practices of neighboring tribes and nations. The Bible is not a "scientific" Book as He did not revise Mesopotamian assumptions of cosmology: they assumed their "science" of the time from naturalistic observation, the sun "rises" in the East and "sets" in the West, therefore the earth must be the stable point and the sun, and stars, must revolve around it! Had God corrected that with His writers of Scripture, they wouldn't have written more than a few words as they would've been stoned as witches or sorcerers! Over reliance on on our Hellenistic-oriented mindset promotes Confirmation Biases. Look up "confirmation bias" on Wikipedia for a good expose of the "Flat-Earther" mindset. Get a grip boys and girls and read other than the King James translation.
Can the guest at 7:00-8:00 minutes be any less articulate? I can’t tell the guy went to college, despite him saying he did...but that’s about all he got out.

Who is the arrogant ass moderator? He uses humor and condescension to refute claims, not facts...
@ Clay Cark
Indeed, the fact they often feel the need to ridicule others says enough.
Ah I like discussion very interesting !
