#PlanetOfTheApes - Фільми й анімація
The opening scene was filmed on the same beach location where Taylor had discovered the Statue of Liberty in the final scene of Planet of the Apes.
wow didnt know that
Yeah, even opens on the same cliff where the statue was standing.
Zuma beach just around the corner from the POA filming
Yep. That was the first thing I've noticed as it looked very familiar.
You Blew it Up!!!
Excellent movie! That was true cinema
10 Fun facts;
1- That’s Point Dume in Malibu Ca. It a state park. You can go right there. Cost $5 to park. The rock behind them is an old volcano.
2- On the other side of that rock is where Taylor sees the Liberty statue in the first movie.
3- This is the same beach where Tony finds Jeanie’s bottle in the fist episode of I dream of Jeanie. It’s available on UA-cam. Look it up.
4- Up the hill were homes owned by Johnny Carson, soon David Letterman and now Owen Wilson.
5- about five miles inland from that spot is Malibu Creek State Park. Where MASH and the original Planet of the Apes camps were.
6- The hills around that area can be seen in the opening theme song of “The flying nun”. She flies right over there.
7- a few miles down the coast , behind the big rock, is Paradise Cove where Jim Rockford had his trailer on the beach.
8- The helicopter pilot was an actual pilot. He also had his SAG card as an actor. So in every movie and tv show of that era where they used a helicopter… and that was a LOT… this guy got the part.
9- The military guy inside on the radio, went on to play the SWAT commander on Hill Street Blues among other things.
10-Presumably, the Apes brought the germs which killed off all the dogs and cats and other pets in a few years. Which leads to apes becoming pets… and then slaves.. and then the overthrow of mankind. So them coming back in time, actually causes the downfall of man, and the rise of the planet of the apes.
Probably the best of this series of the saga.
The first three are really good but the last two I really didn’t care for
Cut it off a few minutes too soon. The Jerry Goldsmith main title music has been living rent-free in my head since I was a child in the early 70s. The visuals coupled with that music is just great cinema.
Yes !
That’s what im trying to look for😄
I was just listening to this score today. Gotta love that Jerry Goldsmith 70's funk.
*this scene is one of the best in all planet of apes saga..*
This is the first POTA movie I saw. Opening is a great one.
I like the guitar riff at the end.
Excelent movie.....thanks...
Loved all the original Ape films.. Roddy is the only Cornelius/Caesar
After seeing the original movie: I sought out and read Xan Fielding's translation of Pierre Boule's original book "Monkey Planet". And was struck by how much had been left out or altered.
When I first saw 'Escape' it likewise struck me how much of that original book had been levered into the film but in a reversal of the original roles. Which struck me as an interesting paradox.
The remake with Mark Wahlburg was supposed to be more in line with the novel. I've never read the book, so I wouldn't know.
So lets review, a race of apes who had ZERO knowledge of space travel or rocket science were able to get a spaceship working again, one that had been underwater and no doubt needed refueling among other forms of maintenance.
As great as this movie is you gotta admit that's a big stretch.
Escape`s plot was far fetched.
@@figureofauthority yeah I do have a few small gripes here and there, namely with the villain. He blames the future on these apes who in truth had NOTHING to do with it.
As the old saying does don't shoot the messenger. All they did was WARN mankind of their impending doom. And rather than say take this knowledge to heart. Rather than try to prepare for this plague that would wipe out all dogs and cats or try to pass laws to insure better treatment of apes in the future....they instead harass Zira and Cornelius whose only crime was apparently warning them all of this in the first place. Which leads to the biggest plot hole.
If they did indeed know about their actual origin and how apes went on to rule the world...why then were they digging for proof to prove that a greater society ruled before them? Despite the fact it was already in their history books? Why then was Dr. Zaius so keen on covering this up...despite the fact that apparently as mentioned Apes already knew? None of this makes any sense! Especially since neither Zira or Cornelius never figured out that Taylor came from that exact time period!
"Um yeah! you're in the future! Apes took over after humanity nearly blew themselves up leaving less than intelligent descendants" the latter of which was never even explained.
Sorry for the long response btw.
So true, Taylor's ship sank in deep water, the sea water would have destroyed every electronics on board, there's no way the apes could have raised that ship and refueled it, I guess we just weren't supposed to think about things like that just enjoy the movie LOL
this movie was actually very interesting, somewhat sad to see how they go from hollywood stars to seen as creatures
This film made me sob my heart out , humans can be horrid.
Assisti a trilogia dos Planeta dos Macacos p/TV nos anos 70. Este foi o ultimo deles. Nao tinha efeitos especiais elaborados, mas, tinha seu charme!
Funny how they went 3,000 years back in time to mid-seventies America.
They were huge fans of the Dirty Harry movies you see.
Nice
😂😂😂😂LOL....THE LOOK ON THEIR FACES!!!!😂😆😆😆😂😆
Guess the General didn’t know there was something hairy under their helmets.
Very funny movie after the first with Charlton Heston 🏆🎬🏆
Actually this was the THIRD movie, after Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
I believe that beach is Malibu, CA.
They never explained how they recovered Icarus (or got it back into Space) since it sank in the original movie......
It wash ashore
Biggest plot hole in the history of cinema, but why spoil a good movie with reality.
They had to do a lot of "retconning" with the movie, which later includes Cornelius talking about how apes took over. In the original movie, he seems shocked at finding evidence that humans were there before the apes. Still, next to the original, Escape from the Planet of the Apes is probably the best film of the POTA franchise.
Milo hired Yoda from The Empire Strikes Back to do his levitating trick and that took the spaceship out of the water. Asking ahuevazones.
@@kibitznec700 Lol....whyyyyy not!
宇宙船のコマンドモジュールだけで、どうやって爆発する未来の地球から脱出して飛んで来れた?
この映画を最初に見た時からの疑問
The blast of Earth destruction, sent the capsule through the same temporal anomaly, that sent Taylor and Brent's ships there, in the first place! They were to travel to the next closest star....not tens of thousands of years, into the future.
Truth a phobia
The originals were so much more better than the cgi 💩 they’ve done.
Vdd ,os de hj tem mais efeitos visuais e sonoros do que conteúdo e estória!!!
How exactly did they repair that spacecraft?
That’s not a half-track, it’s a deck crane!
タイムスリップSF映画の傑作でもあります😂🤔🐒
The capsul is confusing, it should be huge. The nose has a escape hatch that Taylor crawled out of. From the windows back it should be as big as a bus.
Yah, totally off-scale compared to the original :(
@@stephenlow1841 Well, the original the backend of the ship was submerged in water so we couldn't see the real size of the ship. They should have fixed the prop in this movie to make it look bigger but I guess the budget didn't allow it.
So was Stewart in there the whole time just turning even yellower?
I never though of that.
We'll have to dig up Roddy McDowell to ask him.
That was not Taylors craft, it is too short, it looks more like Virdon and Burkes from the tv series.
Half track is WWII equipment. Helicopters are civilian Jetrangers
Web belts and holsters are WW2-era as well. Leather was all dyed black by the 1970s.
Is that Sgt. Bilko in the middle?
How did they get that ship though
Perhaps it was Brents ship from Beneath the Planet of The Apes.
The original Icarus was much larger than this ship.
The more times you approach the speed of light, the smaller your production budget gets. 8^O
How did they go back in time from the future?
It's been a lifetime since I saw the movie, but I think he told them how to fly it and get off the planet. The goal wasn't to go back in time, but to leave before the planet blew up (memory might be failing me a bit here). However, the craft caught the same time vortex (or whatever they called it) and sent them back randomly. I never rewatched it, because I always remember how sad the movie ultimately was.
"Take us to your leader" was expected but not delivered, the look on their faces when those helmets came off...The General should have brought a bunch of bananas...
Well for one it's not called Icarus the name of the space craft was not mentioned also the space was washed up to shore
They opened what they thought was a space ship and had soldiers with guns ready to shoot, but were surprised that the occupants weren't from Ohio?
The concept is interesting, but these just do not hold up at all.
Not only did they have to get the ship back into space, they had to go back in time… 🤷
Is the spaceship smaller than in the original movie?
It's the original prop, minus the parts that held the back-end underwater in the original movie. I always thought there was much more to the ship including the engines and storage areas for food and fuel, but it was all underwater. It looks incredibly small here and shouldn't have been used. If you'll notice, the windows are so close to the rear that there isn't enough room for the suspended animation chambers. They had a similar issue with Brent's ship from Beneath the Planet of the Apes, but they at least added some charred remains behind the prop, including engine bells. They used this ship one more time in the pilot for the TV series, and just in this clip, you see they added gull-wing doors to the top for easy access. There's a ton of debate about all of this amongst fans.
It's a lack of thought, time and budget. I suppose the presumption was that people wouldn't remember too much about the ship in the original movie. As a fan, it just irritates me somewhat. (And let's not get into that whole how did they retrieve, repair and pilot the ship, because that way lies madness!)
🕊🌱🌹💻🖨
And they thought they landed near Chicago 🤣
Ojednep
Movie name please
Seriously? It's right on the screen towards end of the video.
Welcome gentleman to the . . . . . . 🤐
Mama
What was their motive for leaving the earth and where did they want to go?
Watch the movies. Trust it's gonna be worth it
Watched and ties in the back story of it all
Roddy McDowell wanted a swimming pool.
Today the soldiers at the end of this clip wouldn't be shocked. They would just say "Oh, it's Diversity".
Your witty comment make me laugh 😂😂😂
Thy are U.S. MARINES!!!
Once helmet came off bullet in head
You cut off the scene too early. 👎
they should of just claimed asylum!!!! lol
I must say, am I the only one who much prefers these original P.O.T.A movies to the more recent , overly-C.G.I 'd ones?
I prefer all the old movies with their stop-motion animation and rubber/latex creatures over modern CGI. The latter is so fake-looking and the action is so fast as to be nauseating.
4:01 OMG, one of them is a woman!!!!
A lot more convincing than Apollo, much better acting, makeup and dialogue😊
Sarcasm... right (?)
You just dumped on a LOT of engineers, general workers, scientists, and working parents ... Not cool--and irresponsible.
What krajo you tas takando?
@@kibitznec700 truthaphobia🤡
Kind of what is going on today with Joe Biden's America.
This movie is so racist. I can't believe they included a scene where the apes are smoking Newports.
I read about the menthol Newport cigaretes which according to the article were favored by black smokers, but why is this racist ?
