Hey! I'm doing somthing similar, but I can't get the bios display. We're you able go boot from Ubuntu installed onto the M.2 prior to putting it into the framework?
My m2 had only ever been installed in a framework laptop with Ubuntu. As you can see in the video, that didn't work when moving to just the main board.
Interesting! I think I figured it out on my end. I was trying to connect to a monitor via a thunderbolt external gpu, when before first boot you need a direct connection to the screen with the hdmi adapter first then drivers installed should allow switching to thunderbolt connection
To many words short version, don't connect external gpu to screen at first connect directly to screen to install os then you can thunderbolt to the external gpu which then connects to the screen silly me forgot drivers exist for some reason
To summarize: - Get your own screw for the hard drive - Tape over the tiny case switch (case intrusion detection, i.imgur.com/MLmmapq.jpg) - When installed while in the laptop, some OSes (here Ubuntu) might show strange behavior when the mainboard is taken out (e.g. like rebooting), so better install fresh - Red blinky light means "no battery detected", it's probably fine - Press the tiny power button on the mainboard (i.imgur.com/MLmmapq.jpg) - Keep in mind that the WiFi antenna is usually in the chassis and that you might need an extra WiFi module and antennas for WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity
Already feeling a kind of brotherhood with tech people such yourself sir :) Thanks for the amazing upload!
i was thinking of the same thing last week, thanks for trying what is in my head, really cool
Thanks for the interesting content! :)
Just a reminder, you can purchase the wireless daughter board from framework. It cheap and easy for integration. It will just work.
Yes, the component is cheap but the shipping cost doubles its price here in the UK. Best to be bundled with other items if you really want it.
@@IanWootten ah got you. Sorry, I miss spoke then.

Heh, yup that's about the size of it.
I wish that FrameWork can make Tablet and smartphone?
The great thing with the mainboard is that you can make one yourself: hackaday.com/2022/08/07/build-a-tablet-out-of-your-framework-motherboard/
I don't need a pc anymore
Great news. What are you using instead?

Maybe, but I don't think I'd use it enough to justify the price and UK shipping costs.
