That was a great decision, to do both versions back to back. The Lovebites version is pretty true to the original (I think it's better but it's not totally different). Miyako's version is completely transformed. I also get emotional listening to it--it is glorious, in the way only great classical music can be. She is a once-in-a-generation talent.
I can't say I have a favorite member of LOVEBITES, past or present. They're all so skilled and attractive in their own way, and by "attractive" I don't just mean looks. I look forward to Miyako's EP arriving and so I can let her music wash over me.
Great reaction to a great cover by Lovebites. And Miyako...class, elegance, grace, beauty, elite talent, what else needs to be said. There are many supposed great musicians out there but she is the real deal, 100% legit! What a rendition. 🤘
The studio version is made for Miho and Haruna ( her favorite band and she gets some rare shine time ). Miho was so much better than she gave herself credit for, you don't play in Destrose or Lovebites and hold your own without being world class. Glad to see Miho back in the music scene and any band would love to have in their midst. Miyako didn't just do a cover she reworked the metal song into a classically piano piece while staying true to the original song. That album has a Gary Moore and Deep Purple offerin that I can't wait to experience by those golden fingers.
If there ever is such a place as heaven, the great composers of past times are smiling down on Miyako, full of pride and joy. her arrangements, Classic and Rock, might show the way, the old masters would have gone about their craft, nowadays.
She said in one of her earlier interviews that metal and classical music have similar structures. I love that she is able to bring it together and have us experience it! Got a little emotional ❤️!!
"She said in one of her earlier interviews that metal and classical music have similar structures." I think I've known that almost as long as Miyako has been alive. Fairly common knowledge.
I love the bands cover especially as there are solos from Haruna and Miho. Miyako's piano arrangement was sublime and the videographer did an amazing job, especially with the lighting. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow, Miyako is a real piano prodigy. I really love when she plays the piano and this version of “Eagle fly free” is awesome. I also like so much the “Rising” piano version of her and Asami of December 2020.
You’re the first reactor to do these back to back. It’s by far the best way to appreciate Miyako’s arrangement. Miho does a stellar Job on the bass, but my star of the show (if I had my arm twisted up my back…it’s Lovebites, how do you choose) is Harupi. Helloween is her favourite band. I am no musician, but it’s my understanding that Helloween are German. Miyako’s arrangement definitely highlights the “German classical” feel.
It's like two different songs, but it's not. Miyako is so amazing to be able to play two instruments on such a high level. How does she find the time to master both and still raise a child?
For me there is a good thing and a bad thing about this cover. Iwill start with the bad thing. It is sad the lyrics a accurate today. The Song is 20 + years old, so we havent learnt nothing from the past. The good thing is my favorite metalband today play my favorite song from my favorite band when i was young. So yes thank you Lovebites. Perfection like always. The Wolvpack will hunt forever.
That performance is from the DVD, "Live From Abyss". Its from a live rehearsal stream during COVID and the whole thing is phenomenal. My favorite on it is "Scream For Me" that ends with a minute and half solo back and forth between Midori and Miyako. If you haven't listened to it yet I definitely recommend the "Abyss" version.
Great reaction! Pete, you should take a look at Lovebites` The Swan Song with the Chopin intro with Miyako on the piano. A true masterpiece ⭐ Thanks from Tom, Norway.

Miyako's interpretation, rearrangement and rendition of this classic metal anthem were just absolutely beautiful.

Metalheads can enjoy her piano version, especially love that Bass solo part☺⤴

Lovebites, a metal band that is filled with super talented artists and musicians. Hope they keep together as long as they can. 👍🤘

Nick kamen thought same. That's why he made a concert with metalica while conducting the San Francisco symphonic orchestra.
Thanks for sharing both of these wonderful covers. Your obvious joy reacting to them was a treat.
Classical Music is just Metal before electricity ... 😁
Well said

Miyako is an elite musical talent.
I agree, she's amazing!
I don't understand much about piano, I play bass, but I know when a song is amazing 🎹💯👍

And, if I read correctly, also finding the time to get pregnant a second time.
