You should import the backing track/song to a track in the Recorder section. Note that the Recorder that is included is only one track but if you want to do multitrack recording there is a multitrack recorder via in-app purchase. If this is what you are doing or you still have problems you will need to contact technical support and they can troubleshoot rather than through UA-cam comments which is not a good medium for technical support aside from very simple FAQ-like solutions.
You would need to use the multitrack Recorder add-on in VocaLive (available via in-app purchase) if you'd like to do that since they'd be on separate tracks (it comes with a 1-track recorder included).
You need to use a microphone to record your voice (there's a 1-track recorder included). We make iRig Mic and iRig MIC Cast for this very purpose, for a sound far better than the built-in microphone. If you still have trouble you can contact our support team for more help and there's a manual in the app too. Thanks
You guys should make a sound effect where you can change the pitch of the song playing. Maybe like a D# to a B#... just an idea for singers that want to sing a song in a different octave
Please check the User Manual (available from within the app) especially the section about the Recorder. If you have issues beyond that, contact Tech Support directly and they can help you.
@snashofvexatious You can import songs into a track but you'd want to get the in-app purchase of the 4-track recorder too so you can have multiple tracks.
The version wouldn't matter, but please see my answer below and if that doesn't help you can contact Tech Support directly from the app or our web site. Thanks!
Make sure the first track in the Recorder section is enabled and that the tuner is not enabled. If that doesn't work, you can contact support directly from our web site and they will help you.
I don't unserstand how u can record ur voice cuz when u record it an play it I don't hear anything and it keeps going after the seconds I've recorded help I really don't understand this app

I have purchased the full version with 8 track recorder vocaLive app for iPad to use with my iRig Pre, The aim of purchasing these is to record vocals over backing tracks, However I have hit a bit of a stumbling block that I need help with. Once I have loaded a backing track in to slot one I can press play and hear the song and the mic has I want it it to be, However has soon has I hit record I can no longer hear the song only voice through mic Could somebody please advise on this
+Starbuys Make sure you are arming the second track, not the track with your backing track on it in the Recorder. If you have further issues, please consult our Tech Support team at www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/ios-apps/ and you can also get tips & tricks from other IK users on the IK forum at www.ikmultimedia.com/forum

If you are using iRig MIC and VocaLive you can plug headphones into the output so you can monitor your input/voice.
We also make iRig PRE which will allow you to connect your own condenser mic. You do need an interface of some sort.

@HohuaAtaahua There's a one-track recorder included and you can get a 4-track recorder as an add-on (the help in the app and the manual cover its use)
@Cuffy6 It comes with a one-track recorder, but you can also get a 4-track recorder as an in-app purchase
@kermit6510 You click on Project List and then highlight the song you'd like to export - there's an export button on the bottom of that window/screen.

Thumbs Up if you keep looking in the speaker's mouth for vampire fangs as looks up at the camera and talks
I only have a Bluetooth Microphone karaoke so that I can sing Acapella Without The Music.
