VocaLive for iPad: the first professional vocal processor for iOS!

- VocaLive for iPad now available in the iTunes App Store! VocaLive for iPad takes an already powerful vocal processing app that has become a favorite on the iPhone® and iPod touch® and makes it even more powerful. The iPad version adds a fourth effect slot to the signal processing chain, and two of those effect slots can hold the specific "vocal effects" compared to just one vocal effect per chain on the iPhone version. The preset browser is also available in the main window of the interface making loading and saving VocaLive presets even easier. The Favorites section has been expanded from 4 to 40 in the iPad version utilizing a new bank button. Favorites put presets right in the bottom panel on large, accessible buttons for immediate loading of the artist's most-used settings.
VocaLive includes 5 Vocal Effects -- Pitch Fix (for tuning correction or stylized quantization FX), Choir (a 3-part harmonizer), Morph (an X-Y pitch and formant shifter that changes the tonal quality of the voice from subtle deepening to radical gender bending) Double (Double effect gets unlocked by registering) and De-Esser -- along with 7 Studio Effects -- Reverb, Delay, Parametric EQ, Compressor, Chorus, Phazer and Envelope Filter -- that together create the perfect vocal processing solution.

Absolutely, many do. You could use one of our interfaces like iRig PRO, iRig PRE or one of our microphones like iRig Mic and output to a mixer with the proper cables. We also have iLine cable kit that could help in your setup too.
Yes you can. There is even a vocal remover for songs with vocals on them so you can sing over them.
Yes, I use OnSong for lyrics while I use VocaLive live. As long as the other app doesn't open an audio steam.
There is a 1-track recorder included and a multitrack recorder available via in-app purchase and with that you certainly can.
Yes, VocaLive works with digital input now.
You can use other microphones, including those that plug into the 30-pin digital dock input
There are multiple export options, and you can see how to export in the in-app manual/help (the question mark icon). If that is confusing or doesn't work right for you, you can also contact support directly too.
You can record one track with the included recorder and if you want to record multiple tracks (including putting the backing track onto a recorded track) you can get a full Recorder via in-app purchase.
You would need to "print" the FX onto each track (actually, at least one of them). Please take a look at the recording section of the manual and if that doesn't help, please reach out to our technical support staff who are there to help with these types of queries. Thank you.
You can use any microphone that plugs into the headphone jack, not 30-pin units at this time.
In the song area you can loop a region but for a true looper functionality you cannot do that within VocaLive. To use VocaLive's amazing vocal FX and a looper, I'd suggest using VocaLive's Audiobus compatibility to run it as input then a looper as an Effect slot in Audiobus.
This is great stuff! I'm having a problem with Pitch Fix. I can only put it in FRONT of choir and it messes up the rest of the audio. If I turn it off everything is fine. Should it be in a different place in order of EFX and if so how do I get it there. It keeps jumping to first position.
VocaLive has supported digital input for quite a while already.
You could set Background Audio on and use a different app but there are no lyric display functions in VocaLive at this time.
if your microphone works with iOS devices (either through the 1/8" connector or digital input) you can use it with VocaLive. If not, you can use iRig MIC or if you'd like to use XLR connection then you can use iRIg PRE
What about voice pitch correction manually i don't get. It is available or not. ??
As suggested, I'm using 2 tracks to record 2 voice effects. On track 1, I set the FX to LEAD (bank 1, favorite box 01). I did this by lighting up fav box 01 and holding the FX button for 3 secs. I then recorded my voice for 30 secs & stopped recording. Using same method for track 2, I set the FX with HARMONY effect (fav box 02) and recorded from the 30 second mark to the 60 second mark. When I completely rewind & push play, I only hear the FX effect which is lit up below. (Box 01 or 02).
There's an update coming mid-June that will allow 30-pin support
There should be next to no latency. Are you using a BlueTooth or wireless speaker? That could definitely introduce latency. Otherwise, if not please contact support and they will help you out directly.
@shanespencer Once you put the Morph into an effects slot by choosing it in the dropdown the controls are right there on the effect itself (the Morph having the X/Y pad and X and Y buttons for controls, in your example). The question mark icon on the top left will show you more help, and at the end of that help there is a link to the web manual from within the app.
Looks nice. Can this work with my Alesis I/ODock?
@TheDeantopping You can't import directly but you can export from GB and import into VocaLive after.
can i use this whit my iRig Stomp I/O MIDI Pedalboard?
how can i export my audio after recording?i cant find the button for sharing
You could go out from a device like iRig PRE or similar but you'd have to get your headphone out into an audio interface. I wouldn't do it real-time, I'd export and then further edit on computer.
I installed VocaLive App for my iPad 4. Using my telephone earphone with Mic, I was able to hear my Mic input and music. From what I figure, the output has to be fed into an amplifier.
- Yet, since I want to use it as a compact Demo unit for my art of whistling to music, I would like the output of music and whistling to be confined to the iPad. It doesn't need to be loud. Is there a way of achieving this with VocaLive?
There is a pitch processor in VocaLive
Does this work in the background ... if I want to sing over another app's music?
@gospellover2 A condenser would require a preamp and a way to get the preamp connected to your iOS device. iRig Mic gives you a high-quality handheld without worrying about all the extra items and effort.
hello! could this be used to process live vocals? If so, how can I send this to a foh speaker or mixer? Thank you!!!
We want to use the pitch correct on live but the latency is important (the ultra low option is selected), the sound on the speakers is later, is it normal ? (iPad 2, irig PRE, iOS7)
@dcuenta Well you could always use the pitch correction to help :)
my vocalive doesn't have the mic button down the bottom and when I try to record it doesn't pick up sound unless my mic is detached?
How to record SAME time as using irig???
can I open another app(good reader) in i pad when I use vocalive?
thx
thanks for this video. but i have one question. can you tell me how to use the music on my ipod library and record while i'm singing. is that possible? pls thank you
There are multiple export options available. Please check the help and manual available from within the app for details on them. Thanks!
You'd need a preamp for microphones, you would be better off with iRig Mic for what you describe.
Hi there. I want to buy an Ipad 3 (3rd generation). The question is will this app work with my ipad and will it work with my dynamic mic (audix om5) and Alesis IO Dock device. Thx.
VocaLive is not available on Android OS. iRig MIC does work on Android devices, though. We will have iRig Recorder for Android available in the Google Play Store in March.
I wonder how detailed the compressor and equalizer are....
They may be in a protected format but the best way to get technical help is to contact support either via our site or from within the app.
I've tried using that mic with garage band and otheprogram but can never get it to sound that clear?
I definitely know I don't have a singing voice but this might be useful for someone I meet that has that killer voice, so just in case, I will get the app. Thank you IK Multimedia. Love your products from the beginning of time!
hello, is there anyway to run this live as a vocal effects processor thru mixer?
VocaLive has not yet been updated with 30-pin support but it will be soon
Hi Musicforever you can export via email, soundcloud, ftp transfer etc. It is a super app.The basic app comes with 1 track so I presume you would want to add the other 7 tracks (obviously this costs a bit more, ideally you also need the Condenser Mic (I-rig), and once you have that you are set yo go as if you are in a studio. You can make some great noise!
Any update on making this compatible with the Alesis iO Dock?
I can't tell you how badly I need these to work together!
How do you transfer the sounds/songs you've finished recording to your computer? Anyone knows how to?
You must be running iOS 7. We just posted an update that fixes iOS 7 compatibility. Please note that with any major OS update there is risk of apps having issues during the early days of initial release and caution is recommended especially if you have mission-critical apps that you count on.
How do you record your voice and the song together
The recorder does not do automation of FX like that like a DAW. You would want to do two separate tracks where you can print the FX on each. If you require more guidance please visit our forum for suggestions from other users or reach out to our official tech support via our web site /support Thanks!

Hi, I have the Irig mic...along with the full version of Vocalive on my IPad. When I record a song on track 1, I alternate my pre-set voice effects, using bank 1, boxes 01 (lead) and 02 (harmony). Sounds good when I'm recording, however, when I stop the recording and play it back, I do not hear these interchanging voice effects, I only hear back the voice effect from 'favourite' box 01 or 02...which ever is lit up. What am I doing wrong. Please help. Thanks.
I must be missing something here, but I have this on the iPad, and can't for the life of me figure out how to get to the effects editing or presets mode. I've read the help file and tapped pretty much every part of my screen - how do I do it?! I've got the four buttons at the top that give me the drop down menus, but let's say I want to adjust the morph; how to I access the editing box? I'm close to throwing my iPad across the room in frustration!
Hi, How do you get the song lyrics to display on Vocalive?
This might sound like a no-brainer, but how easy would it be to link the ipad directloy to a desktop computer for recording on the fly and for further editing? Again ... sorry if this question is a no-brainer
~F~
yes, very cool!
do you have to buy the mic or can you use it without it?
vocalive the free version doesnt work anymore :( it crash everytime i opened it.. it is so hard to find apps like that..
i am confused with the app and the in app purchases

christian
If anybody runs into a problem where their pedal affect stop working ....just delete the app go back into App Store purchases.... and reload your app ....should fix your problem it did for me!
How to Singapore and see the lyrics through the I book?????
We just had a sale on VocaLive and in-app purchases - I'm sure we will have more app promotions going forward. Make sure to subscribe here, follow us on Twitter and Facebook for up-to-date information. Thanks.
Nice view))) very pleasant presenter, I'll got this app immediately!
can you record your singing with the imported songs?
Hello!! Whats the best method to use it on a Live situation? Just use a cable from iPhone/iPad "headphone" input to the Mixer?
If you are using iRig Mic, you can use an 1/8" stereo to dual 1/4" cable into a mixer.
im getting it!!!
Thanks
I ❤this app. But when I import a song from my song list on iPad and record it when I play it back the background song is very quiet and my vocals are too loud. How can I make the background song and my vocals more balanced? If I was to use it for Karaoke the background music is way too quiet. Is there a setting I can change to fix this?
Comparing the volume of your vocal input to the volume of an imported Song could be misleading, because pro audio tracks are mastered and their volume is much higher than the one of your vocals. If the volume of your imported Songs is too high you can lower it using the volume control in the SONG section.
Can you loop on this app
any app for android ?
? What is what called?
How to Sing and see the lyrics through the I book?????
Are you using iOS 7? If so check these out: Open your Settings app and tap on ‘Privacy’ > ‘Microphone’. You will see various audio apps listed, tap the slider to the right of the app and tap it so it appears green in color. This will allow access to the microphone and audio will be heard again.
Hi. How do you add another effect on a certain part of a vocal? For example.. Im using reverb and delay on verse1 and then and on the chorus part I will add a doubler. Is that possible? And how will i do that? Thanks
Brayan Florez - it is in the title, the app is VocaLive www.ikmultimedia.com/vocalive
ikmultimedia B
Not noticeable. Try the free version out and see. Or hear, I should say... Or NOT hear (latency)? Or feel? Ah, you get the idea :)
can this app be used at live gig as likeca stomp box for harmonies.
Yes you can use VocaLive in a live setting
Answered in the other video comments, but please also contact support if you are having issues after you follow those suggestions. Thanks!
is that avalible in android market?
It's so cool
Yes, but you didn't show how the Mic is connected and whether your singing to music can be heard on the iPad...
Where can I find that out?
+Joh Orinda You can use many different mics and interfaces. Please check out our site for many excellent options: www.ikmultimedia.com
which microphone do I have to buy and I am able to record the music and put it on a CD?
You can use any microphone that is compatible with your audio device. We have iRig MIC, iRig Mic CAST that you could use available for purchase and they work well with VocaLive
v cool ik crew,,cheers
latency?
Is this App supposedly doing what is promoted here? I can't import any song. Is there an update or inApp purchase that I should have to be able to import a song from my library? I don't know. This video was done 8 years ago. Is it still relevant?
You can still import from your library. If you are having issues, our IK Support team would be happy to assist you at www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support to resolve your issue. Thanks!
