Cheers Pal .. I’m a DIY idiot and have just done 50m2 porcelain and now have the manhole cover to do. You’ve stopped me making a couple of mistakes I would have made and taught me a good few things to follow. Thanks again.. best video out there.
Amazing to hear
Thank you
Never too late to learn the right method.
This tutorial is a banger. Nice and simple on how to. Don’t know if you could have made it any simpler than this. To easy. Thanks for sharing your skill.
Appreciate it! Thanks for kind comments of encouragement 🙏🏼
Blows my mind how you cut it free hand with a stone saw. Great job.
Haha thank you my mate! I’ve been using one since I was 15 so I’m pretty confident with one now. I love my whizzer 🥰
Thanks for watching and the comment Shane 👍
Thanks so much for the tutorial Matty. You are a superb teacher, very good clear instructions, easy to understand. It’s generous of you to pass on your knowledge, it really helps out a guy like me. Can’t thank you enough.
You're very welcome!
Thank you
Another great install Matty so nice to sit back and watch somebody else do it even I picked up some tips when you are cutting the handles out of the centre section you cut a 45° to the corner so the middle piece would snap out much easier I’ll start doing that myself from now on.
Oh and thanks for the shout out at the end top man all the best Tidy 👍🏴
You’re too kind! Thank you my mate. Yes the little 45* in the rebate makes it snap out easier 👍👍
The shout out was the least I can do mate, you have helped me so much on here with your shout outs 🙏 I owe you one.
Thanks my mate!

your eye for detail is just the best .. im completely ANAL about tools left around finite stuff.. bricklaying to the existing courses .. i cant stand if a person puts in an course of bricks and it is half way up the existing course .. winds me up completely .. UNLESS of course it cant be helped anyway .. great video .. i will be doing 2 of these soon .. so thank you for your professional input

Your work is spot on, credit where it's due . Excellent 👏
Can’t believe the way you measured the cuts instead of just using a tape measure. Having said that you are the stihl saw god my friend. Cracking job. Had me captivated till the end 💪
Appreciated mate
It was a pleasure to watch you install this. I've done a few over the years. It was like watching myself 😁.
Your use of the styl saw was like watching a true craftsman. That only comes with experience.
Well done, I look forward to the next one.
If you're in at the planning stage its always good to get any inspection chambers into soft areas like flower beds - it saves days!
Not always possible I know, but worth bearing in mind.
Thank you Keith. Appreciated 👍👍
Couldn't have timed that video any better - I am just about to start laying my first patio down this weekend and have been scouring YT for Recessed Manhole Cover installs for the last few weeks. Thanks for the really in depth video, really appreciate it!

Hahaha I’m a chilled guy 😎 what you see is what you get. Cheers mate 👍👍
Super slick on the saw buddy. Some great tips in there thanks for that. Cutting porcelain slabs 1 with multiple jutting in and out bits round. A recessed wall past stairs and bloody let it slip on edge of slab and chipped the edge 🤬😆😆
Thank you my mate! Really appreciate the comment and for watching.
Argh nightmare, had a few of them over the years, massively frustrating 🥴
Top work Matty, I really enjoyed the comprehensive how to hope you have more planed over the summer months.....The rest of the family were not as enthusiastic as me but they all stayed and watched it lol keep it rolling.
Got few more in coming up mate yes.
Haha apologies to your family 🤣🙈 thanks for watching 👍👍
Great video Matty , got those MH covers from landscaping World , they are well better than the plastic rubbish most of them sell now days ,will fit them in the week 👍
Yes they are 👌🏼
Matty that little tip has changed my life ha ! Just using a sharpie to mark porcelain and you can free hand with the Sthil perfectly! I’ve been doing manholes today and wat a game changer ! Spot on cheers !! 👍🏻👍🏻
Haha brilliant! Thank you mate, love hearing stuff like this.
Been a Sharpie fan for years, they are the best marking tool in my opinion,
All the best Giles, thanks again 👍👍
@@Brockstonepavingpros yeh no more 3mm wide pencil or french chalk and as you mentioned it’s actually stays on the paving mid cutting ! I love how we all learn from each other on here after years of doing something it takes one vid and you think Jesus why have I not been doing that 😂 it’s getting tips and tricks from all around the world not just from ya boss, dad or workmate ! Like you I’ve been a sthil saws for and age and can now follow that thin black sweet sweet line like a radial saw ha thanks again 👍🏻👍🏻
@@gilesj2215 haha good man. Yes mate, that’s what it’s all about! No room for bitterness or secrecy in my book, we can all help each other out.
All the best mate 🙌🙌
Brilliant helping a young lad aspiring to do what you do.😁
All the best amigo
A truly impressive video, the care you took would I suspect put you in the top 5% of professionals doing this. I wish you were based in my part of the Country!
I’m not sure where I rank but just like to do a good job. Thank you mate
I’ve got to do a drain insert soon, your video will really help!
Good to hear 👍
Matt top quality as ever, I will be copying your way of doing a concealed cover from now on, as I’m always looking of ways to better myself. Thanks again mate. Heath in Southampton 👍👊
Thank you so much mate, glad you found it useful!
Everyday is a school day, always learning and progressing myself mate.
Thanks again
Matt 👍👍
Top work again Matty that Stihl saw work is again off the scale. 👍
Trying my best Barry, love my STHIL
Thanks for watching 👍
good idea testing with the off cut, would be a pain in the arse getting the full size one back out.👍
Cracking job that mate. Attention to detail is something many people lack in the paving trade.
thank god someone who also doesnt set all the lids first. dont think people understand there is a bit of play when setting them and can make the job 10x easier - still an absolute ballache these things tho
Yeah better this way 💯👍
Superb video, very professional approach.
Thank you! Appreciate that and for watching 👍
Wonderful to watch how much time and attention you took in fitting this manhole... looks so neat when finished ...
Thank you. I probably could of cut it down a bit 🤣 but wanted to include as much as possible
Great job enjoyed that very informative well done.
Thanks bud
Professional work mate super like 👍
really good video thanks for help like the concrete bit to too get it level
You bet!
Excellent job
Thank you
Very useful. Thanks. Beautiful work.

Great idea 💯 the amount off manholes Iv cleaned out 🤣
Haha not a nice job is it
@@Brockstonepavingpros no mate 👎Rockwell insulation good seen hay being used on big sites .but think I may try your method out 👌
Great video
Cheers boss
Very nice job, some great tips, thanks.
I’ve said it before and I’ll it again great work with the Stihl saw
Cheers Dave, my favourite tool 😁
Thanks for watching 👍👍
Excellent craftsmanship. I'm doing a few atm with 45 degree herringbone block paving. Nightmare lol
The level of detail, whatever they paid for this, isn't enough.
Brilliant video, I will be doing one of these manhole/chambers soon I notice you have a good steady hand using the stihlsaw, I think i will be clamping a wood offcut just in case to get as good a line as possible. well presented even though its a long watch its well worth it thanks.
Impressive, Great vids!
I loved watching your skill there is a lot of experience behind your knowledge. You're a very skillful builder loved your video I am a new sub now.
Thank you. Been doing it a long time, 👴🏼😂glad you liked the vid mate 👍👍

Just seen this. Thank you my mate 🙏 yeah Scott is a good man and extremely talented landscaper 🤌
New subscriber Matty. Just watched all your vids over the weekend. Well impressed with the way you work. See you soon pal from your favourite concrete driver.
Hello my mate!!!!! Boss to see you on here. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Appreciate your comments mate! We’re having more concrete in a week or so, make sure it’s you 😆
Top quality work and tutorial! And those covers are next level, can’t buy anything like that online, you should sell them.
Thank you mate. Yeah they’re not easy to get. I thought of selling them tbh.
Thanks again Robbie 👍
Great work! Thank you for the video!
You’re welcome
Thanks for watching
very nicely done 👏🏼
I use to have my own cake decorating business and since doing our own garden I have never found so many alternative uses for piping nozzles and bags until now getting filler, paint, sealant and grout into tiny gaps, i saw you with that trowel filling those tiny gaps and thought he deffo needs a piping bag 😂
😂😂👍 I’ll try it
Great job. Pal in the trade my self. Brill videos keep up the great job
Thank you very much my mate! Appreciate you watching.
All the best 👍👍👍
Feeling the pain here mate, customer don't realise the work that goes into a manhole relay, can you just put a new cover on that 🤬can take a full day sometimes for a couple of recessed if need brickwork, bridging etc , spot on work and attention to detail again, top man👍
Thank you my mate, appreciate you watching Darren 👍👍 and thank you for what you said about the work 🙏🙏🙏
Yes mate, I agree 💯 there. They are a pain, especially the large concrete ring ones 🥴 a job that can’t be rushed.
All the best mate 👍👍
Great points
Love the detail!
Thank you mate! Rambled on a bit 🤣
@@Brockstonepavingpros ramble away mate, it’s the little details that count when perfecting a trade. The way you measure up the slab has helped me a lot. I was measuring and eyeing up the cuts which took longer. 👍🏼
@@elliottdebell7783 cheers mate, that’s good to hear. I always prefer to go off a visual/physical thing rather than a measurement, it’s basically fool proof!
Thanks again 👊
@@Brockstonepavingpros I feel like I should be paying you to watch your videos!
@@elliottdebell7783 I won’t complain 🤣
Great vid that 👍🏼
10 out of 10 pal
🙏🙏
Great video. So many videos skip over some of the subtleties. Like the tip using the offcuts to check the level.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you
Brilliant video mate I’m in the trade myself and I know what it takes to get these level keep up the good work pal
Lee, appreciate it very much. Thank you mate! Comments like this are really encouraging 🙏 I’m humbled
Trust me. This man has skills
Too kind 🙏 trying my best bro
Once again Matty great job, love your work but love your use of english, from "orientation to skew wif" 😂, keep them vids coming bro.
Hahaha that made me laugh, didn’t even realise I’d said skew wif 🙈🤣
Got a few more in the pipeline yeah!
Thanks again man 👊
great idea with that little ply board to go down the hole! love your content mate
Thanks very much Jack. Appreciate you watching mate! Thank you for the comment 👍👍👍👍
@@Brockstonepavingpros youre welcome mate, keep up the good work pal!
Bang on mate!👌🏻💙
Nice one Craig 👊👊
@@Brockstonepavingpros would love a chance at porcelain! I only ever done indian stone etc.
Looks fiddly😂
proper helpful m8 thanks v much :)
You’re welcome mate
@@Brockstonepavingpros I've had a look around and can't find the cover, I've just read below you get them frabricated. I think the one you fitted above is for the 300mm riser. I have a Wavin WAJ A15 cover i'm replacing, I've measured the inside diameter of the riser and 300mm would cover with approximately 5mm overlap all the way around. Can I purchase one from you if it fits? Thanks
quality work mate 👏
Nice one Jordan 👊👊
Top job mate 👍🤪🤪🤪
🙏
Quality as usual
🙏
Superb as always Matty, defo learnt a few tricks 👌🏻 been on my own for just over a year now its great to have really experienced Landscapers giving out advice and knowledge, top man!! A vid on Grout would be good? the Flowpoint one was the nuts mate, one on Fugabella would be really helpful if you get a chance.
Take care buddy

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you. Appreciate the comment mate. Definitely not charging enough or i would be sitting at home with me feet up! 👊👍🤣
Cracking video mate I think everyone who does A Paving doesn’t like doing drains very time-consuming depending on the materials my method changes for each one and most of the time they’re not as clean as that one 🤢but I always like the end result
Thanks for watching Davey! I don’t like them either 🥴🥴🥴 4 on this garden to cut around 🤢
@@Brockstonepavingpros I’ve got one next month with five not looking forward to it and if I could offer any advice though I don’t know if you have them but I would if you haven’t look into getting at least one suction cup for porcelain Especially when doing drains I find them easier to lift them in and out 👍
@@davey4207 thanks mate, I appreciate it. I know loads are saying about the Grabo, call me a dinosaur if you like but I’m not a fan.
Hope the job goes well mate! 👍
@@Brockstonepavingpros hey mate everyone has their ways of doing things if the way you do something works stick with it 👍 I’ve seen the grabo looks good but the 40 quid pump ones I bought work just the same and one less thing to charge😁
Thanks for taking the time on putting these videos out matty ; I’m in the trade also and it’s people like yourself that make me keep upping my game 👍. Was wondering what grade diamond pad you use for smoothing the porcelain slabs? Cheers Mark
It works both ways mate. I’ll
Keep doing videos as it’s worth it when you get comments like this, it’s very encouraging!
I’ve got hand held ones and a few ones for the grinder. Which ones mate?
Thanks bud
Hi Matty not even watched halfway yet but as boys say your deffo top off your game, love watching your attention to detail, I thot I was ok on a sthil saw but bugger me I would have over cut the cuts round the handles off the manhole.
