I doubt Jon will read this, but for cliff jumping throw some rocks or coins before you jump to break up the water so, the landing is less harsh. Give it a try and you'll see it's less painful on your back.
+Marma yes... It breaks up the water so it's not like landing on the ground. Water is like a frozen lake when you land in a way. I know my analogy isn't the best.
Even with the bubbles they have for Olympic diving training is not really enough to make a big difference (still came up with a bloody face after a bad jump from 10m on them) so unfortunately I don't think a coin or rock is going to make a difference as the machine is that times about 100 million... ;-) Heavy crashing waves would be the best, lots of air in that water...

4k would be nearly impossible for a daily vlog. 3-4 times the space needed, double the rendering time (at least), triple the upload time. 4k takes soooo much space and time. I really don't think it's worth for daily vlog. Maybe save 4k for exclusive trips that you really wanted to stand out.
exactly! Jon mentioned getting RED camera, but for daily vloging it would be madness. First of all, he mentioned he breaks things. This thing is so expensive, heavy and who would take the responsibility to take care of such a thing. Everyone knows why Casey Neistat uses Canon 70D, because it is one of best dslr cameras for reasonable price if he breaks dozens of them every year, he wouldn't mind pulling cash for a new one. But break RED and go get a new one... Secondly as you mentioned, time-wise Jon would literally spend entire day editing and uploading videos, he would go nuts. Take a look on guys like Devin Graham and his channel Devinsupertramp. He has the whole crew focusing on 6k videos, massive number of people and they are able to put only one video a week...the production behind it! RED is super nice, videos amazing, but still not daily vlogs. Maybe later when the technology will be easier, for now too much pain. As you said, only for exclusive trips now
Jon, you can ask directly in the "Boulangerie" to make you the sandwich Baguette you want with salami and ham and cheese. It's pretty common in France to do so, and they will do it for you immediately.

+Jon Olsson I've been struggling a lot with the 4k dilemma too. Most people I know who shoot 4k (unless for a commercial or film application) do it so they can crop in post. That, and 4k downsampled to 1080 looks very nice. For me, I think I'll be getting the GH4 with a speedbooster and fast zoom or the a7s ii as my next camera. Both record 4k and are quite comparable in daylight, though the a7s ii wins out in low-light. But for now, still shooting on my 9 year old GH2 and still looking quite decent when I take the time to compose the shot properly. :p Good luck with your quest for 4k/RED!
The Panasonic G7 shoots the exact same video as the GH4 and has been proven to be better in low light then the GH4. is a great B or C camera. also shoots 4k and is less then $600. Peoples problem with 4k is file size and having a decent enough computer to edit 4k without it stuttering during edits.
Double D While it does do better in low-light than the GH4, there are several reasons why I won't get the G7... including the fact that the image quality just isn't up to par with the GH series.
um what? have you used it? or even seen sample footage. its the same thing as the GH4. lol only better then the GH4. but only worse in the build quality. and shooting more then 30 minutes. most people don't shoot longer then a few minutes.

Hey Jon you probably won't get this but big fan of your vlogs been watching them all summer. I was actually in Mallorca this summer and done cliff jumps and the guy who took us out to the cliffs said that wearing small shoes helps with the impact on the water and keeping your toes pointed

I saw you and him with two cameras, and heard you complain that something doesn't work (i think) 😝. That's really cool for me to see one day how your daily stuff look like on the vlog (i rember where on your YT channel was only few videos like testing Miltek exhaust on RS6 in the mountains etc, since then i'm watching your vlog every day) and next day how the vlog is being made. Unfortunately i was too timid to asked you for the photo or something, i decided to watch what are you guy's doing and maybe talk to you latter. But yours "tactics" was too good 😂. You guy's split up and I ended up following Marcus, and later on lost him somewhere 😅. If you change the tiles in the Marbella pool to make the water look blue you should have it spell 'Casa Camo' on the floor to make it unique. Would also look good in drone shots.

First of all really cool volg!! It's so much fun to see all the things you do every day! A suggestion which I mentioned before, why don't you try kitesurfing? It's extreme and it's a challenge learning it. The filming is possible with several mounts in your lines or on the board so that would not be a problem. There is sea in Monaco so probably it's possible to learn over there. It's also cool to learn because in wintertime you can try snow kiting, can be very extreme as well😎. Anyway enjoy your trips!

Jon and the cool crew, you can buy for the next time one little plastic device which waters your plants when you are away and you can't water them. Just type something like -self watering planters- and it will come up in your browser. You can make them even by yourself. Hope that helps. :)

The fun thing, come to stuttgart (germany) at friday or saturday night. You well see in the downtown nearly as much supercars. Mostly AMG's, Porsche, and BMW M///, but also a lot ferarris, lamborghini, bentleys... its really crazy and i like it :D

The fun thing, come to stuttgart (germany) at friday or saturday night. You well see in the downtown nearly as much supercars. Mostly AMG's, Porsche, and BMW M///, but also a lot ferarris, lamborghini, bentleys... its really crazy and i like it :D
