Some growers prefer the name Golden Oyster, but we have always called them Yellow Oyster. This particular mushroom is nutty and savory. An excellent variety to offer chefs.
The summer months are hot in the Okanagan, which can make it difficult to grow quality mushrooms. Over the years we have perfected our methods and have developed warm weather tolerant strains that thrive in 37 degree celcius. In this video I want to share how we grow yellow oyster mushrooms.

Nice showcase, thanks! Edit: citrinos are my favorite to grow (martha tent for now) and it seems to perform best compared to our other oysters under difficult circumstances like low fae and high temps. It looks like a weak mushroom since they break so easily but that’s on the surface. I think they’re awesome at handling everything else

I bought a bag at our farmers market. The guy had his "x's" over the bumps. One has started fruiting but the others seemed dried out. Now I know why. I do spritz them twice a day as he recommended. They are in the sunroom without direct sun.

I have just started my career in Goa, India in Commercial scale Oyster mushrooms cultivation.
Could the base your cutting off benifit as stock for broth or soup? I save all my stems to boost the immunity level when making chicken broth for flu season.

How do you beat the heat? I'm going to be doing a smaller scale operation and it's been 90's (°F) here. Or any tips for my setup to be?

@@whatthefungus Thanks for the reply. I have spawn ready from cloning some I found on a hike. I will add to masters mix with fingers crossed. Perfect timing seeing your video.
I also grew yellow oysters at home. They looked beatiful, but they had kind of a slight fishy smell. Is that normal?
Those lumps are called sclerotia. They weirded me out when I saw that too.

🫡 this farm is to big I have seen some farms but damn this has to be the biggest farm that doesn't use tons of machines I can't even imagine doing this.
