Wow, that was awesome!!! Memories, it's the one thing we have when we get older that we can replay in our minds to remember all the living we did from the time we were so young to who we are today!!! I have so many memories and every time we go somewhere where I've never been before or where I love to be, I stop, and look around and absorb everything I see, to make memories!! Your vlogs are very interesting, I'll never get to China and by watching your vlogs, I'm visiting China every day, always looking forward to the next day's wondering where you will take me that day. Thank you so much for your insight into life and what you think it should be. You are an amazing person Matt, you bring so much joy to so many others. Thank you and JaYoe!!!

I had prostate and bone cancer three years ago. The majority of my left pelvis and hip joint was removed. I was told I would never walk again. Now I walk with a cane and crutches. I was very active to that point in life. Saw a lot of world during my lifetime. But with the cancer, life became very precious. Now I am cancer free and living each day anew. Matt struck accord with his video. At first being 63 years old, I thought he was too young to think about the cycle of life. Now I thing to enjoy ones life, you must understand the cycle of it. I started watching Matt when he was riding his trike because I was interest in one myself. Really enjoyed his narrative of the trike and China's beauty. An American in China. Didn't know if I could ride a trike but had to try. Went to the bike dealership on Friday. It worked. Today I rode and rode. I am very sore but I feel alive. Thank you Matt for your inspiration. I am a fan

You're awesome..... Great minds think alike. I started collecting photos, planners, materials, videos and etc since I was 16. Because, I know that these are priceless memories that I will never get back.
You will be thankful and really appreciate capturing these moments later on..... On a side note: You should create an email for Eva and send her messages, photos or videos once a week until she gets married. Give her the password to the email account and let her walk down memory lane. That sir, will be the most valuable gift that you can give to your daughter on her wedding day. 😊 Jayoe

"...Those skills, those memories all disappear..."
That's one interpretation. Being a follower of Christ I see things a bit differently. I am 62 and am loving every second of life. My motto is; "everyday above ground is a good one -- and if you're a Christian, after that it just gets better." We are all on the same track of life; and it moves ever so quickly. Enjoy it while you got it!

Brent Benson , if we know Christ and read his word we will know where we will be when we die. It's a great comfort to know where I will be when I die.

I read somewhere that they'd use to play music to jig their memories, albeit temporary while the music is playing. Give it a try and see how it goes. Peace n love

Here's something for you to think of. According to research done by neuroscientist David Eagleman " When we receive lots of new information, it takes our brains a while to process it all. The longer this processing takes, the longer that period of time feels." So if we feed our brains more new information, the extra processing time required will make us feel like time is moving more slowly, so although you may not be able to live longer you can certainly make it SEEM like you have lived a long life. So Matt, your 5 year trip around the world should make you feel like you've lived a lot longer in the future :-)

This would explain why your school holidays seemed to last forever when you were a child because you were experiencing new things everyday and why when you are older time seems to fly because you tend not to experience new things as much.....wow deep!!

Everyone has 强迫症, like I had to type this word in Chinese and the following big chunk of text I just have to throw it here.
For the ultimate question you kind of asked in the later part of your video, some people turn into religious, some become superstitious. But since you are in China, you should know the majority of Chinese are atheists regardless of knowing death will come after everyone.
Even during ancient times, when there was no science around, people believe in superior force or supernature force above humans only to explain things we can’t explain. We call it “道 Dao” which became Taosim and thrived for thousands of years. Dao essentially is “the natural flow or cosmic structural order of the universe”. When you die, you decay and become something else, the "essence" of you never perish as yourself is part of the universe. The important thing is you did something or left a mark in this time and space.
Also, about faith, since you mentioned Quora, here is my answer about Chinese faith on Quora.

I used to want to live forever. But If you think about it and I mean really think about beyond the human experience. Yeah it would be nice to live a few million or even a billion years. But do you really want to be around when the universe expand and dissipate into nothingness? It would just be you and even the nearest subatomic particle would be so far away from you that the space between you and the particle is expanding faster than the speed of light. So you would just be you alone in the vast emptiness of a dead universe eon after eon never ending into infinite. To me that would be torture. If I were to choose between just living a normal human life span or living forever, I would choose the former.
