We are based in North Wales and manage around 150 colonies of bees, plus nucleus colonies.
We produce Great Taste Award winning honey and sell nucleus colonies to members of the public.
Our 6 frame overwintered nucleus colonies sell out very fast every year so early ordering is advisable.

We supply F1 Mated Buckfast and Jolanta Queens throughout the season. The UK Mated Jolanta Queens are reared using genetics used by the UK's biggest bee farmer - Murray McGregor - and are not available to general public, except through resellers like us! Check out our queens page on our website.

I'm from Algeria and beekeepers around here adore our native a.m. intermissa, which is a high production and highly aggressive type of bees, they believe they're an extra layer of security with all the hyve thefts that take place around here.
Iam from algeria too i got so annoyed by the aggressiveness of native bees so i tried a f1 buckfest hive
The experience of working on a hive without a suit is just so amazing I might start breeding buckfest myself
What a difference! Protective bees are on thing, aggressive are a whole different box of frogs and best gone.
I have a beekeper friend that has one hive with really nasty aggressive bees. He still likes them as they come out even in bad weather, give loads of honey and keep extremely clean the hive. You cannot have everything :).
I have limited my exposure with my hives because of them being a-holes 😂 but I want to work with them more. I enjoy beekeeping. Beekeeping helps with my stress & anxiety.....the buzzing helps calm me. I'm tired of being bullied into my house when I want to work in my yard.
I would like to get a new queen like this one you've mentioned to see how different it can be around my apiary. ❤🐝 I wish I could buy one of your f1 queens, but I live in the US 😢
The two nucs I got from you, I moved them into their hives today. They were very calm and well behaved. So you are doing something right :)
Great to hear Koshy 👍 👏 😀
Hi, I'm new to bee keeping, how did you get stung in the face, did they get into your suit? I don't know how to tell if they are aggressive, what do they do? I get my first NUC in April/May.
When you're pulling out frames or put your hands over the open box they will fly out and hit your hands and just generally be all around you. If this happened lay a tea towel over the open box to cover the frames you're not manipulating. Good luck with your bees 🍀🐝
Oh how I like calm bees 😳 Over winter one of my colonies must have requeened itself and they are not nice now 😳🤣🤣 This new queen will have to go!! I won’t tolerate this 😬 How many seasons do you get from your queens? I wonder how long before they change? Good luck with your lovely bees 👏👏🇬🇧
I agree Laurence. I’ve got two nasty colonies due to missing swarms this Spring. They’re a nightmare. Last inspection I counted 18 stings stuck in my, thankfully thick, gloves. They’ve got to go.
I've found that if your not suited up zipper tight one they get their first sting they go crazy and they know your temperament. Just like any animal knows when you are scared
And they get worse as you go along. Just move box to work or move to a different hive away from them
I been trying to get real gentle bees with no success. I have ordered queens from a few different breeders only to be disappointed.
I guess my idea of gentle is radically different than theirs.
People in the USA just don't seem to be real honest about their bees.
My first colony of bees I ever had were so gentle and I never once needed to suit up to work the hive and never got stung by them.
I removed them from a building and brought them home and even when I was doing the cutout they never got excited and tried to sting.
Unfortunately I was new to bees and ended up losing them due to moisture in the hive at the end of the winter.
I have yet to have bees again as gentle as those ones were.
One guy I got bees from he insisted they were gentle and easy to work with and they turned out to be the worst I have ever had.
I could not come out of the house without them coming after me.
Wasn't sure what to do with them to begin with but then accidentally killed them with car exhaust, not realizing the exhaust was blow over to the hive.
But dang they sure put up a ton of honey in just half a season. I ended up with around 70 pounds of honey from that hive.
Like you said I would sacrifice the honey for gentle bees any day. All I need is enough honey to get me to the next harvest season.
“I would sacrifice a 50, 60, 70% reduction in honey crop for nice, calm, friendly bees.”
Dude, I 100% agree. I haven’t started yet myself, but have spent some time with the professional honey producer that uses my parent’s place for their commercial splits. I feel like I could handle 2-3 times the number of hives, on the hobby scale, if they were all a pleasure to work with. 10-20 lower yielding hives will still be more than enough honey for my family. I feel like I would never go above 5 hives if they were always a pain to work.
Great temperament, if mine become aggressive, I know where to go to get some decent ones, thanks so much 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Got the same hive tool! It’s a great piece of kit!
After my nightmare season last year and my requeening resiting rehousing efforts my bees died over winter. You get to the point when you ask yourself do I want to go through this all over again. But then the sun comes out and you want a piece of the process. Then you discover you can’t get a NUC till June. BOO!!
The Jolanta i got from you last year has been really good, not had a honey crop yet but will see what she gets up to this year (hint the spring honey is already in 5 frames), probably going to order 2 more for the summer to requeen a couple of my other hives who have got a bit nasty
1:55 I won’t lie the one that landed on your ear I was hoping. 😁
Haha! It was loitering with intent! :)
I wish we could chat, my bees were horrible and aggressive! Then they all died. I probably burned 10 plus gallons of honey today. I still have nearly 4 feet of snow and 2 packages of bees showing up in a week. Any ideas?
Love to watch your no nonsense work thank you. If I buy an F0 queen and subsequently graft from her, will the drones this virgin mate with affect the temperament?
How did they become aggressive?
Brilliant what bees are they to me they look like italian honey bees 🐝 im shi. scared if bees wasps bumblebees i would live to keep bees I realy would but in to scared also I have 3 cats so not a good idea 😂 🇬🇧 ive had 6 scorpions years ago held them no sting but scared of honey bees crazy
I've just picked up another 2 hives one of them are nice and gentle just like that the other one not so much lol, I'm going to look in to rearing some Queens this year from the gentle hive I don't mind it taking a bit longer than just buying in its all part of fun. Love your video arguably the best on UA-cam keep up the good work.
So……how do I get bees from you? I’m a complete novice with 1st hive, Sir….
Lol. Good. Glad you sorted it.
Lovely 🐝👍
Great
How to solve the problem ? Just change the beekeeper. Very easy. ahah , just joking.
theyre only this calm because you bought a F0 inseminated queen. not beause you dont accept mediocrity
That was kind of the point 👉
No sheet
My bees have been absolutely brilliant until yesterday. Don't know if it was the weather or what but I had bees aggravating us in the garden and then the same at my out apiary. Has never happened before and I wasn't even close to the hives. Very strange
