    Wearing that suit in full sun is gold medal effort.

      And not nearly as hot as when I was wearing that suit in North Carolina in 90º weather! I could never tell if it was sweat or bees crawling on me.

    Amy, I learned a lot about bee keeping just watching you work with them. Thanks

    I've found occasional mice in my hives that have been stung to death by pissed-off bees, however, after seeing the nest damage I'm going to install mouse guard mesh this fall, but I've always put entrance restrictors for the winter mostly to keep the cold Vermont air out. I enjoy seeing inside other people's hives, as it acts as a sanity check! Thanks for your excellent (and fun) videos!

      I always use entrance restrictors, but apparently even a half inch by inch space is enough for a mouse to squeeze through. LOL. you're welcome for the sanity check, even if this inspection wasn't as "sane" as usual.

      I'm "somewhat" used to it. But it's nerve wracking all, the intense buzzing. Being in a suit helps!

    You and Brian are truly a jack and queen of all trades. How did you learn all your home/shed building and beekeeping skills? This is all part of my homesteading dreams one day! Also, was that bee or some other kind of larvae you discarded and why? Sorry for all the questions. We love and always look forward to your videos!!

      Lots of youtube videos lol. Learning by experience. The bee larvae was in between the boxes, so was already destroyed when I opened it, they should be located inside honeycombs in the frames. Glad you're enjoying the videos!

    Why do mice make nests in bee hives? I never knew about this. You’re so brave. I don’t know if I could do all that but you know what you’re doing!
    Looks like you guys are off to a busy and productive summer. Enjoy. I hope weather stays in your favor. God bless.

    Mice ate all their honey and eating comb so the bees are hungry and angry (hangry) LOL , can't blame them. I agree you definitely need to (mouse proof) your hive boxes.

    How come the bees don’t attack and kill the mouse? I found it fascinating that a mouse would build a home in a bee hive….you are very brave.

    Would a cat and Viggo get along?. It maybe time to invest into a cat. Unless you have cat allergies. Which I do. If that is the case then I guess you will have to find alternative natural ways to get rid of mice problems. Several of the channels I watch have cats and those channels never seem to have rodent or rabbit problems.

    • @____________________________.x
      @____________________________.x 2 роки тому

      Cats generally don’t like dogs, especially high energy dogs, you need a way to separate them.
      Cats are more useful than dogs because they eat rodents that are hard to get rid of, dogs just take up space and bark at clouds 😬

    • @lockedin60
      @lockedin60 2 роки тому

      @@____________________________.x Well I know of several farms/families/homesteads that would prove your first theory incorrect. However the farms/homesteads have at least 30-40 acres to several 100 acre properties. Also these dogs and cats are working animals they have a different purpose other than being pets.

      We have a cat. You have have seen her in a few videos, but she is very old. We do not let her outside. We used to have 2 cats and one that went outside never returned. Outdoor cats don't last long in Colorado mountains.
