Thanks a lot, Mr Clint DiClementi, I had some project and I was stuck for many days but yours tutorial helped me and saved my life. Thank you so much...
I hope you are still active on this channel....I have a question! My opactiy mask shows overtop my diffuse in my viewport. Basically my material sphere looks correct but when i place it on my plane I see the Black and White version. Any idea whats happening?
hey man, dont you think that the amount of polys is a bit much to be lowpoly? it looks like fairly few. could you turn on the polycount next time plz? how is it with the backside? is your material two sided? i think it would be nice when u drop a quick engine screenshot at the end of tutorials like this, so we can get an idea of what it gonna look like when we put it in the game. but nice tut anyways. thx.
Sometimes turning things on and off refreshes the program just enough to display properly. I have to do that with particle systems all the time, and textures are the same way a lot. Glad you got it working!
Depending on the game engine you are using, you would either collapse all the pieces of the fern fronds into a single mesh (use Edit Poly and the Attach button) and then export it as whatever file type your engine requires, like .fbx, .obj, etc. Some of these engines may need you to bake the textures into a single flat map as well, like in this video... Yaaaaa! Thank you so much for this! I have just one question. Can this process also be used for applying hair textures? Thanks again!
Yes, you can use planes with opacity maps for hair, that's actually the most common way for game/lowpoly hair
Ohhh I see I see, thanks so much, now I can go back to modeling my character :DD thanks a lot man!
Yeah, not sure what I did, but turned off the opacity and back on a few times and then it works. Maybe it's a bug or something.

hi how can i import it to unity? the black space remains around the leaf. there is no place to drag the mask either...
Would it be beneficial to bake AO maps onto each leaf or wouldn't that work?
jesus thx man

hey I try to create a grass texture height as in the games crysis 3 sorry english bad i am french
Is this considered game ready? If not, what else would be done to this to make it usable in a game?

hi do you know how to use the mask texture in unity engine?
My leaves keep clipping through as if there was a Background cull applied to it. What can I do ?
In your viewport, or when you render? If it is when you render is Force 2 Sided checked on your General Render Setup tab (F10)
