In the context of my comment below, what are your thoughts on an Elwin left as lancer?
Doesn't really make sense.
- Lancer has A ATK growth rather than S.
- vs regular enemies, infantry Elwin one shots everything he attacks already. He is weak to cavalry, but ledin can 1 shot those while defending.
- legion of glory teams only have Elwin to 1-shot lancers. They don't have a mage with freezing strike.
- against big enemies like dragons, you want DEF break to knock enemy DEF down by 20%. It would benefit all follow up attacks after Elwin for that turn too, which is much better than just Elwin getting +12% ATK for 1 strike each turn.
- for valkyrie, lancer Elwin doesn't fit into the ATK rotation very well.
- As a DPS, masked maids are by far the best soldier due to their special, and Elwin's talent heals them up easily. You lose a huge amount of damage output using spear units like phalanx.

Breeze > Rough Sea >>>>> Full moon/clock on elwin. The biggest weakness for elwin is ranged enemies and not surviving an attack when at low health to get your lifesteal. Full Moon doesn't help with that. You want Apex Boots for his accessory, and I don't really see vampire mask being useful on him. Aeolus' armor is also nice.

Thanks for the elwin guide i dont have the weapon i meed for him but i use mjonir for a subsitute atm but can alternate between a few others but glad one of my characters is able to do alot more dmg now thanks for all ur videos nitro! Also some of the enchants have been changed again as well seems like meteor and blazing sun have 2% more increased crit so they are at 7 now instead of 5

i got elwin twice on a 10x draw so i was able to summon him as a 4 star
I feel like Crush would be really good if Elwin is left as a Lancer and uses Ragnarok. That means with Elwin's self heal and the Ragnarok proc, you are highly likely to have a permanent 12% increased atk.

can you do a lewin review sometime? im 100% f2p and he's my only infentry unit atm..
I do wish he had a 25% hp boost instead of 15% along with the 35% 35% 15. But that would probably be a bit op as being able to tank and then heal plus the extra 30% atk boost from his passive at 6 stars taking his atk boost to 65% total with a 15% hp mdef and 35% def boost already being really strong overall. Just a little more hp or a s rating in hp I think would be perfect overall. His hp without ideal rolls is hard to keep where It needs to be end game for lvl 60+ content.
It certainly hurts for Eternal temples for sure.
But other than that, his self healing really covers everything.

I think divine boots worh frontal assault and sword should is awsome set up , you dont need him to be attacking a ton, usually two huge hits like that is great , plus after I use frontal assault , my elwins defense goes up to 750! and I just have him 4 star BP 4500, throw him put there one shot a target and then especially with ledins buff , and your boosted defense you can take the next hits, then proceed to attack regain all health , I've seen people run clock on him, I feel like his equip is exact same as what I rock on leon.
I'm assuming you're building him for:
- SS Timeless Trials, the new Temples, and PvP.
In all 3 cases, pure damage is considered the key to success, rather than extra mobility.
@@Nitroglycerine yea your right , and really I have a pair of divine boots that I kept , soo in pve I throw those on him sometimes , I also use them for dragon, as I can get up there one move quicker and debuff instantly.

Never pulled him and do not need him in battle as I have bern. That is until I need to unlock the fifth bond for leon. Now his focus banner is next year. Me being f2p cant risk pulling all out on non focus.
IMO Sun Slash is still great late-game for one very important thing- autoing Guild Battles! I can't stand actually playing GBs anymore lol, my guild is a pretty small one so we just do normal mode, but level 40 can still get your units killed thanks to the artificial not-so-intelligent. Units that can sustain themselves with Sun Slash or similar skills really up the success rate there.
lvl40 GB is not late game tho so....

Elwin is currently my favorite character in the game along with Ledin, Leon and Deiharte. I hope they gave us a great male healer that can rival Tiaris and Liana so that I can have my all-male team. No women allowed.

Btw, I've been hearing that Elwin is one of the best thunder dragon slayer and Lewin is his substitute if you don't have Elwin. What do you think? If I don't have Elwin, should I train Lewin instead?
If you're stuck on thunder dragon and don't have Elwin or Bernhardt, yea you might as well.
I will mention Vargas does a surprisingly decent job too.
I was thinking running him as a lancer, for a while at least, so I can have him, Berny and Leon against Valkyrie. Having an attacking lancer against cavalry would make sense? Does his class make a big impact (other than the Valkyrie)?

You keep talking about defense break reducing other target's defence, but that's not how it works. It reduces the defense of the target you are attacking, before battle. Which can make the target easier to one shot with Elwin.

Wait I gotta ask do you get the bonus stats for each class you master? I thought you have to be in that class to get any of it's buffs?

Interesting you didn't recommend mobility boots on Elwin. Not something worth using at all?
You're giving up a lot of attack. AN ATK accessory gives 74 base attack, and then you add in the percentage boosts to that too.
It's very hard to justify the +1 movement for a character meant to 1-shot targets.
I see people use the breeze enchant on Elwin a lot to make it RNG based, but have Elwin potentially have 5 movement too.
Of course, other mobility buffs include teleporting Elwin forward with Jessica or Hein, or flyer Matthew using sprint.
Leticia's love support + sprint can give +2 mv for 1 turn too!
Sorry I'm a newbie, I want to ask, is mastering a class give permanent stats or just while being that class?
permanent stats. The stats you get are shown in hero details > upgrade class > class mastery.
It is usuually something like +25 ATK or INT, +HP, and then +another stat.
Which might not seem like much, but the +25ATK really affects your overall DMG rate since it is affected by the +ATK% you get from bonds and equipment enchants.

@@MrIcaru5 If you have the rune stones, yes.
However, tier 2 classes give less stats. Like +12 rather than +25, if it even gives ATK or INT.
The other issue is, Rune stones are one of the rarest things in the game. It's really hard to have spare rune stones to give to a character's side class, especially when there's 2 new SSR releases every month.
So ultimately, you want to EVENTUALLY, but when that happens is hard to say.
sigh, I'm still at 5 stars and I'll need over a month to get him to 6 stars...
what accessory is good for elwin if no overlord badge? I have winged shin guards for now.
Yea that's fine. I mean, Elwin is primarily PvE, so you don't really need OL badge.
+ATK% & +DEF% when attacked works fine.

Yes it stacks.
FB unique effects always stacks.
Dragonslayer is fine too, but for Elwin you want seal guardian more since it is an extra 2% ATK and 5%DEF actually means reduced damage so he is more likely to heal to max HP.
Of course there is also his unique weapon...
