The biggest difference that people don't talk about is when Lebron went to Miami their starting pg was Carlos arroyo and their starting center is Joel Anthony. Miami also had a very weak bench.
Golden state on the other hand is coming off the winning most season in NBA history. They have an additional all star, and their 5th starter is a finals MVP. They also have a super deep bench.

The optics and specifics of where they went might be different but ultimately they all did the same thing. If they weren't all time greats we wouldn't be discusdsing it at all.

WTH is Whitlock talking about, like he is some old school goon from the projects when we know he is only rough opening the donut box?? Suburban kids that were getting beat went to pick up the best players? They already had won a championship, had 73 wins and didn't went to back2back because of a last minute shot in Game 7 after getting their rim protector and best defender injured and Draymond retroactively suspended in Game 5 because of Lebron snitching when they were up 3-1. Their core was all drafted with low picks and they got a free agent in Durant that every organization in the NBA was trying to get and they had to give up most of their bench. Lebron is the mercenary that assembles teams with the best players from the other teams in his weak conference to maximize his chances to win ships and still loses almost every time and bails when things get though, never won without 2 All-Stars by his side.
Or, Warriors would have never won in 2015 or 2016 if Love and Kyrie were healthy

Kevin Durant joined a team that would’ve made the finals without him. In 2009-2010 regular season Miami was 5 in the east, addition barely clinching 50 wins. Lebron created a super team projected to win multiple championships, while Kevin Durant joined an already great all time nba team an exceptional mark in nba history . Two major differences.

Anyone who knows the story about how the Warriors got KD, know they started going after KD almost immediately after they won their first ring. All the 4 major guys on the team knew that Harrison Barnes wanted to be a superstar and was going to leave at the end of the season, and the players on the squad knew that if they wanted to continue to have a death lineup they'd need the perfect replacement, so the players all started trying to convince KD to come over to the Warriors.
The idea that the Warriors went after KD because they lost to LeBron is largely a myth. They probably went harder after him after the loss, but they went after him even when they won, because they knew he would take their system to the next level. This is why all these people who hate KD are really projecting what they know to be true about LeBron, that he cares more about stacking talent around him and padding stats than playing great winning basketball like you see with the Warrior, Celtics, Spurs etc

All of them left when Durant joined. First season with Durant = 67-15; Second season with Durant 58-24.

Coach Jackson does get credit for installing a defense first mindset with the Warriors young players and giving Curry confidence with the greenest light possible (Don Nelson was notorious for keeping young players on a leash, even benching Curry in favor of Speedy Claxton).
The Warriors are a bunch of hard working, over-achieving draft picks highlighted by Curry (7th), Klay (11th), & Draymond (35th).

What LeBron and KD did were completely different. The Heat were no where near title contention when LeBron and Bosh showed up. The Warriors were already a well oiled title holding and contending machine. Plus the Heat hadnt just embarassed LeBron in the eastern conference championship game before he showed up. LeBron didn't join a back to back MVP and first time ever unanimous MVP in Miami. Durant left a team in OKC that was a title contender while LeBron left a poorly run Cleveland franchise.
