So glad the new info is out about what happened on the Vengeful Spirit. It just makes no sense that The Emperor would hesitate to strike Horus down, even when standing over a dead Sanguinius - but the death of a Custodes was the decider.
The death of a Custodes? Is that the new info? I had always thought it was a simple Guardsman, Ollanius Pius. Just a man, with no gene-crafting, no gene-seed, no special organs or abilities to give him an edge in combat......just a man who knew his distinct disadvantages when confronting a Primarch like Horus Lupercal. He knew he not only could, but most likely would die horribly, and he did, but he stood bravely defiant before the Warmaster in defence of his Emperor. Truer bravery could not exist in any of the Emperor's creations. Who celebrates the life of Ollanius Pius? For he was surely braver than even Sanguinius.
@@Robert_Douglass Well you seem to know more about that than me. This video mentioned a Custodes though. Regardless, I was referring to the Dark King info.
@@Robert_Douglass the 40k story of the guardsman's Saint has gotten a new origin in the HH novels. The authors have been treating the widely-known 40k lore like Greek myths - stories handed down over generations and millenia such that they all contain varying degrees of truth, inaccuracies, and sometimes are the result of combining more than one story. That's how they explain why 40k lore has so many contradictions in its HH stories without having to retcon them - there are afterall many different versions of Hercules and there likely was some man named Hercules who did some great things, but those feats have been exaggerated over time and some have been added to his story that were done by other people. in a nutshell: Ollanius Pius is the combination of two people. Ollanius Persson was a perpetual (the oldest of them as far as we know) who was The Emperor's original Warmaster in the most ancient times. He became disillusioned with The Emperor's actions and disagreed with his impatient method so he left (he actually stabbed Big E before quitting) and continued to live out his lives into the 31st millenium when the Heresy broke out. He was on Calth at the time and with the help of one of the Word Bearer's athames he cut windows in spacetime through which he was able to eventually make it to Terra during the Siege in an effort to stop his old friend from making a terrible mistake and becoming the Dark King in order to defeat Horus. Meanwhile, during the siege of terra there was a normal, human guardsman named Ollanius Piers who had the misfortune of defending the Eternity Wall Space Port which Rogal Dorn had secretly decided to sacrifice to the Traitors for the sake of his Saturnine Wall gambit. He's a brash and affable soldier who finally meets his doom staring down Demon Angron with nothing but a under barrel grenade launcher. The account of his acts were recorded by one of the chosen "interrogators" - an order established by Rogal Dorn and eluded to be one of the original entities that would make up the Inquisition - who was at the same battle. The account was embellished for the sake of morale and recorded this guardsman named "Ollanius P." having stared down the Warmaster, himself, and saved the Emperor. This written fiction makes up the bulk of the 40k myth and is attached to the perpetual "Ollanius Persson" who was also a guardsman and actually did meet with his old friend, The Emperor, at the siege, although it was nowhere near the Vengeful Spirit and certainly did not involve Horus - at the time of their meeting Horus was actually in the process of slowly and sadistically crushing Sanguinius' body into a pulp on the Vengeful Spirit. Finally, this "Ollanius Pious" charcter is completed when the written story of Ollanius Piers is attached to the perpetual Ollanius Persson (both guardsmen) and the "Pious" replaces their last names because Ollanius Persson was known to be a practictioner of the Catholic faith and wore a symbol necklace of it (jesus cross) around his neck. The custodes thing is completely apocryphal for the time being until we get The End and The Death Pt3 which will detail the actual fight between horus and the emperor although it very likely won't happen the way it does in the 40k myths as many custodes have been slain at this point and The Emperor's personal bodyguard unit of custodes were even slain by the Emperor himself as sacrifices in order for Him to draw power from the warp and become the Dark King - a being powerful enough to kill Horus, but too powerful to control and destined to destroy reality.
@@Robert_Douglass the old lore or what we knew did change . like the fact the Emperor was stronger then horus but could not bring him self to kill him etc.
Minor detail, the cult mechanicum and adeptus mechanicum were the pre heresy names, and they were renamed to the adeptus mechanicus after the great schism during the heresy.
What an epic and tragic story. It seems to me the solution was to abandon the golden throne and find some other way to achieve warp drive or simply curb the need for military expansion for a few hundred years. But even the Emperor has character flaws and in his case he just couldn't let go of the dream of having a warp network for space travel.
Here is something to throw a kink in your thinking: What if he knew that the Tyranids was coming? Then in his mind he needed every year he could get his hands on.
there's a bunch of near ftl or ftl techniques available in the wh40k galaxy but for plot reasons humankind can't move to using those. if you'd want to write some conspiracy for it in the lore it would be that the emperor loyalists forbid finding travel methods that would allow to stop sacrificing psykers to keep emperor alive on the throne.
Give Baldermort a shot if you want something epic sounding to fall asleep to. I have playlists saved of all his best, like 12 hour total narration for stories like the Gathering Storm, and the Arks of Omen series
so glad I found this channel. I never got into W40K, I play wargames but never had any interest in playing W40K. However I wanted to learn about the lore and even read the books. I’ve tried many other channels but I had to stop because it made no sense and the voices just did not do it. Some seem to know much about the lore but just can’t share it properly, this video was very well made
"A golden light in the warp have been seen, like embers from a fire, but moving in reverse. His soul is returning, and shall a rise on the dawn of darkness. To forever banish the dark gods of caos, to the eternal abyss." The emperor will return. Just as the cult mecanicus said. the trone is breaking, and they dont know how to repair it. Once it fully breaks, the body of the emperor will die, and he can finally resurrect. or become a true God Emperor in the warp. If his mortal selfe could rival the caos gods. Then his true god form in the warp will be beyond their ability to rival. there are bilions of worlds, whit trilions of humans on each of them. All true unquestioning believers of the emperors divinity. and all the believes of humans takes form in the warp. Thusly if humanity believes the emperor is more powerfull than the gods of caos, then he so are.
@@yxx_chris_xxy they should, thats why it is bizarre that we only have a handful of Primarchs that have last names. What if Sanguinius’s last name is Lucifer. Or Angron’s last name is Gladiator, would be neat lore.
Another minor detail. There was a warp storm that occurred in the lab on Luna and cast the primarchs across the galaxy. They were not all natives and grew up on Terra. They were scattered across the stars and the Emperor had to go find them all.
Starts off pretty good despite rehashing well trodden territory, still, entertaining, and i like the animations. You've really gotta put a bit more research into this though, your chronology is all over the place, for a start, eg, Magnus breaching the Webway happens prior to the space wolves assaulting Prospero... It was what in fact triggered the assault. Also you should have mentioned Lorgar and Colchis and Monarchia... Pronounced "Monarkia" as far as i know... Prior to anything about the Heresy... Little things like that suggest you need to do a lot more reading before you make more of these videos, and careful with the Attenboroughesque voice, doesn't sound like him but it doesn't sound too different either..... Anyway, overall, i love the effort you put in, keep getting stuck into the lore, you're definitely on the right track!
I appreciate the work involved in compiling all this lore, and the narrator's voice is very pleasing. It can, however, be distracting, when words are mispronounced, or pronounced differently each time (especially things like the occasional "pry march")
Man by far my favorite part of warsickle 26k was when the Archmage Coal befriended Rowbolute Gillman , the Preemarch of the moon wolves and watched Milkcater the sligilite walk off the throne and just.. turn to dust cuz he was tired from all his sitting. Without these amazing videos, how would any of us know the DEFINITELY factual, and most assuredly not completely wrong in every aspect, almost as if the creator read the wiki in a language he doesn't actually know and then made videos based on what he read there, would we know how the Elder foiled Nurgrid and the other chaos gods! Or maybe he just watched Weshammer... because that's the best way to get almost impressively wrong lore 100% of the time. Also would have no idea how to pronounce insanely complicated words like primarch! Definitely a tongue twister. Glad this video nailed all the pronunciations so accurately. Or "apostasy". Whew thats a hard one! "Ah-paw-stay-zhee-uh" is how you say that one. Learned that right here!
Unless the lore was changed some 20 years ago till now, the emperors father is still alive, some in the imperium know who he is and do not like him at all.
The narration is FANTASTIC. Voice acting is really underrated in western culture. Love it love it love it. Though I noticed a couple times the terminology was wrong.
Huge error at 31:38. It is not "For the next 10,000 years..." after the council of Nicea. The entire Great Crusade period was only a few hundred years long and took place during Warhammer 30,000., And the Council happened during it. The Horus Heresy was when the ban on Psykers was lifted and only lasted 5 years which is what brought the Crusade to an end and then the long Ten Thousand years part begins.
you are using filmora. ya notice on the transitions how sometimes you get that rapid 'jump' that will skip frames? you need to do your transitions BEFORE you do the pan and crop zooms and it won't do that anymore.
Hey, really good voice on that narration, and really good inflection too! There's a few words that are pronounced a slight bit off, if you want a hand with that feel free to throw me a message. Really good production value, and amazing narration.
Pronouncing Erebus and a few other names differently each time half a dozen times does pull you out of the narration. Another example being arch magus “coal”, takes you a moment to realise he’s talking about Cawl
Awesome video! I wonder if its his will power and absolute refusal to give up that Mortarion inherited (though Im not quite sure how to feel about Big E eye-effing me at 0:53 😳)
Excellent content, I was mildly distracted by differences in pronunciation of “Primarch” and others, like how “Psyker” and Psionic was pronounced “P.S.I” a couple times.
It probably made more sense to establish the webway for humanity prior to the Crusade. Instead they had to rush in order to conquer the Milky Way with barely any resistance
Look man you really need to proofread your work. You re-explained multiple points AND made assumptions that the listener would already know the history whilst in the middle of narrating the history. Not a problem for me as I've read 40k plenty, but I figured I'd be that guy to point it out.

Imagine the Henry Cavill show takes us from the end of Old Night through the Reunification Wars and into the Horus Heresy, and then follow up movies/shows showing the build up into the current age…
Unlikely since it is going to be a 40k cinematic universe, not 30k. However, a cinematic universe it is supposed to be, meaning not just one show, but multiple shows and movies. Henry will most likely play a role in its debut main show, but his job as executive producer ist even more important. We have witnessed more than once how great franchises get ruined by in incompetent showrunners and writers who disrespect the source material. Henry however is a die hard, lifelong 40k fan and respects the fans. He will do great and 40k may finaly replace the ruined franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek, Witcher etc. 40k is growing fast and has endless story potential. Just create some random planet and make up a story of your choosing. It is perfect.

@@rylanhaworth5662 Curious.... I'll have to look into that.
@@Robert_Douglass the old lore or what we knew did change . like the fact the Emperor was stronger then horus but could not bring him self to kill him etc.
This a tour de force. I have never played the game but I love listening to these episodes. This is better than 90% of the movies out there now.
That thumbnail and all I can think of is the late Peter Steele from Type O Negative...
he was hung like a 🦄
Minor detail, the cult mechanicum and adeptus mechanicum were the pre heresy names, and they were renamed to the adeptus mechanicus after the great schism during the heresy.
They should be sued for misinforming the public and send to the salt mines
This whole channel is run by the Men of Iron.
This is some prime content right here. Everything was well described and exquisitely narrated.
Well, this was simply glorious… Glad I found you💪🏾
All hail Manperor of Mankind!!!
God emperor is fifth chaos god...make no mistake......see the truth,,,,
What an epic and tragic story.
I slept to this. This is some Luten level stuff
Give Baldermort a shot if you want something epic sounding to fall asleep to. I have playlists saved of all his best, like 12 hour total narration for stories like the Gathering Storm, and the Arks of Omen series
@@viziel519 love his stuff as well
im always in search for long format video listen in my sleep . nice video
so glad I found this channel. I never got into W40K, I play wargames but never had any interest in playing W40K. However I wanted to learn about the lore and even read the books. I’ve tried many other channels but I had to stop because it made no sense and the voices just did not do it. Some seem to know much about the lore but just can’t share it properly, this video was very well made
I know not by what name you beckon at, but I honor it. Your dedication to the history and long tale of Humankind and the great Emperor of all Mankind.
This is the best 6.1k subscriber channel for warhammer
I’ve always wanted to know more about Warhammer 40K. Thanks for this. I plan on listening to more.
"A golden light in the warp have been seen, like embers from a fire, but moving in reverse. His soul is returning, and shall a rise on the dawn of darkness. To forever banish the dark gods of caos, to the eternal abyss."
The emperor will return.
I believe too that emperor is way more powerfull than chaos deities, at least when hes full might and power comes it peak
PS.sorry for my horrible english, its not my first language and i havent writed anything for english about 8 or so years😂
Upload these to Spotify, please. Want to listen while driving.
His son's last name was literally "Heresy" how didn't he see this coming
Do all Primarchs have last names? I never thought about it until now.
That's a good one.
Once he did he was like “You’ve done it, Horus. You are the Warhammer 40,000”
@@limitlessapocalypse2702 Hydra made a joke. But why shouldn't primarchs have last names. Horus' is Lupercal.
He wouldn't have to look for his kids if he were in Tennessee. You better bed your A$$ his baby momma's would have found him for child support...
@@derekbidelman2442 He should've just left for milk or something.
@lost20052004 or they could have just told the boys their daddy was hit by a train..lots if respectful people got hit by trains.
Is this a new channel? This content is absolutely incredible! Thank you so much!! ❤️
yea just popped out of nowhere, keep it up
@@RealXBit LOL "Out of nowhere"
For all of your hard work making this content, thank you brother 🙏
Is there a playlist in some sort of order best watched for someone with 0 knowledge of 40k? great vids btw!!!
Brilliant bunch of vids Iterator! Already one of my favourite channels. Keep up the good work.
I appreciate the work involved in compiling all this lore, and the narrator's voice is very pleasing.
It can, however, be distracting, when words are mispronounced, or pronounced differently each time (especially things like the occasional "pry march")
This is some good stuff
Dude. That thumbnail picture. I swear, that's just Peter Steele from Type O Negative. For real. It must be. Someone made him the emperor somehow!
Scrolled to find this!
FINALLY! I refused to accept that I was the only one who saw this
This is such a great video, every video should be about the Emperor. Every. Video. Anything else is Heresy!
2 seconds in, it's perfect. THE EMPEROR PROTECTS
Man I like this channel!! love listening to Lore! Subbed and good work BTW! :)
Wow, superb narrative, shan't I venture, divine!
What are u on about? No one has the time to read your egotistical rant
I'm a simple man. I see a gigachad in the thumbnail. I click, like and subscribe.
For the God Emperor and the Imperium of Mankind!
Amazing video and incredible narration
A really good imitation of an old englisch storysteller...impressive😊
Thanks for your effort creating this video
It's driving me insane how few people know that this is a voice stolen by robots and regurgitated
@@jmc042thank you I was looking for a comment mentioning this
"The Emperor Protects!" Yes, yes he does.
This is fantastic!
i hope youtube doesnt remove this, this is simply amaizing great work !
Praise the emperor for his sacrifice as he endures so shall we
well he wont endure for long xD gotta find a way to bring him back
Big E looks like Peter Steele in your thumbnail lol
I like this version of channel even better
Mandated interaction complete.
Praise be to The Emporer.
I know this channel. Congrats on the return and good luck to you
Wow, keep it up! really great oration / voice work !!
Damn, what is that intro music? So good
Never seen the Emperor depicted as Pete Steele before
This dudes voice is amazing for this
I listen to this everyday, I put it on when I go to sleep. The emperor leads me to sleep
My GOD!!! I love the irony communicated in the language of this video. Well fucking done!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
How does this channel not have over a million Followers
This is beautifully narrated. Keep up the good work! 💪🏽. More long vids please!
Absolute quality 👌
I feel like this channel is going to blow up soon. You/your team do such an amazing job!
"voice acting" hahaha
This is badly and inaccurately scripted. Grates my ears to listen to it.
Its luna wolves not moon wolvels and befor that they were known as the dusk raiders such heresy is frownd apon by his holy inquisition
Wrong
when you think how orc tech works the imperial cult makes a lot sense
you are using filmora. ya notice on the transitions how sometimes you get that rapid 'jump' that will skip frames? you need to do your transitions BEFORE you do the pan and crop zooms and it won't do that anymore.
Hey, really good voice on that narration, and really good inflection too! There's a few words that are pronounced a slight bit off, if you want a hand with that feel free to throw me a message. Really good production value, and amazing narration.
Lol "moon wolves"😂
Pronouncing Erebus and a few other names differently each time half a dozen times does pull you out of the narration.
Another example being arch magus “coal”, takes you a moment to realise he’s talking about Cawl
Put out a better video then
Awesome video!
I wonder if its his will power and absolute refusal to give up that Mortarion inherited
(though Im not quite sure how to feel about Big E eye-effing me at 0:53 😳)
Both you and Oculus Imperia have the perfect voice for 40k narration.
😂
He should do nature documentaries.
dont forget warrior tier
35:45 Well, they were "Luna Wolves", but okay, still listening to this cool video. 😉
Good thumbnail picture that, hadn’t seen that picture before.
This voice tho
The Emperor Protects!!!
...
But a bolter does the job also
1:04:02 "The spiritual needs of the masses were placed upon the shoulders of the mighty ecclesiarchy known as the Ecclesiarchy"
The narrator’s voice is amazing.
there is no narrator. That is artificial
40k is sooo bad ass, played space marine 2 and im hooked!
If I was the Big E I would've had all of the primarchs as my war counsel everyone getting an opportunity to speak and voice concerns
Excellent content, I was mildly distracted by differences in pronunciation of “Primarch” and others, like how “Psyker” and Psionic was pronounced “P.S.I” a couple times.
15 minutes in I’ve probably heard 180 big ass words that’ll raise my IQ by ten fold
The Emperor seeks order without compassion, a humanity absent love and thereby an empty evil.
It probably made more sense to establish the webway for humanity prior to the Crusade. Instead they had to rush in order to conquer the Milky Way with barely any resistance
Translations are poor, but intent is good
Look man you really need to proofread your work.
You re-explained multiple points AND made assumptions that the listener would already know the history whilst in the middle of narrating the history.
Not a problem for me as I've read 40k plenty, but I figured I'd be that guy to point it out.
I just want to point out henry cavill by default looks like the emperor.......
Could his tv series be based on the horus heresy
The Emperor being created as a weapon makes the most sense to me.
Thanks!
The current state of the emperor is honestly metal as fuck and needs a band like slayer or some death metal band to write a song about him
Or motorhead - king of kings would fit
This is a masterpiece. The Emperor provides🥂
It is perfect.
amazing video thx a lot
Awesum the Emperor in the Thumbnail looks like TYPE O NEGATIVE METAL FRONT MAN MUSICIAN PETER STEELE ⚒⚔💪😎👍
