Besan is a flour made out of white chickpeas. When you grind chickpeas into a fine powder then you get besan and it's sweets are the best in the world cause they are made of ghee . And indian Ayurveda has it in written that when besan and ghee are combined it's really beneficial for health
besan barfi it's made from gram flour ,ghee known as clarified butter and sugar. The smell you smelled was of ghee ( clarified butter). you should go more sweet like rasmalai, kajukatri, mava cake, sandesh balli malai
It was really nice to see you enjoying Indian sweets. Gulab jamun is made with thickened milk and flour. while jalebi is also made from fine flour but flour is fermented. Gajar halwa or carrot cake is a nice dish using shredded carrots , mik and ghee(clarified butter) and sugar But all these dish taste better when hot n fresh. You can try Jalebi dipped in hot milk, taste will be awesome. Next time try, Ras malai, laddu, kaju katli, kaju roll, etc.
@@theyuhfamily you've been trying north indian dishes. Maybe take a break and grab a south Indian breakfast for a change. Completely different flavors and food. Grab a masala dosa , a butter rava masala dosa , some idlis and pair these up with a bowl of sambhar and some coconut chutney. South Indian food is pretty light and these recommendations are a great way to start acquiring a palate for south indian cuisine. Normally people have it for breakfast or an evening snack. Also in north indian cuisine try to skip the naans as that's mostly all purpose flour and not very healthy. Instead try getting rotis or parathas to go with your curries. Much more healthier and lighter. We eat rotis everyday. Naans we hardly eat once in a month if at all. In Surrey theres a south Indian restaurant called as the kerala kitchen. You can also get some beef stir fry and kottu paratha there. Beef is common in the state of kerala unlike many other parts of india.
The light gulab jamun and dark one is same.. with just the difference of cooking time... The dark one is left to cook in oil just a little bit longer to get that color...the darker one probably has more toasted flavour.. besan is chickpea flour..
Guys do u know that UK 's national dish is chicken tikka masala and the jalabi u ate is the national sweet of india make sure to try indian snack also lots of love from india ❤️🙏
I believe they're so many varieties of food and you should try more of it I'm sure you're gonna love it (Chicken tandoori, malai chicken, mutton curry and many more
Indian snack: blue magic masala lays,dahi vada,banana chips,dhokla,kababs,paneer tikka,samosa,pani-puri,veg cutlet,aloo tikki,aloo chaat,aloo paratha(more of a breakfast),bhel puri,paneer pakora,veg pakora,malpuwa(northeastern snack),peanut chikki etc etc
You should drink water after taking sweet so that get exact taste ,and all these sweet use hot spicy food balance taste .then you get actually taste ,about basen barfi is cheackpee lentil floor made .made of ghee .Next time try kaju katali, rasmalai ,shrikhand, motichoor laddu and many sweets.
I want to eat sweet this all sweet are so good 🤤🤤❤❤ My favourite sweet is *Rasgula* I really advide you to try this sweet 😋😋 Rasgulla is a juicy milk sweet made by dunking curdled milk dollops in sugar syrup, Rasgulla is a popular delicacy that is made on special occasions & Diwali across India
When you eat jalebi, it’s so good with a glass of cold milk, same thing with the Glock German, both of these sweet dishes I will go to the cold glass of milk
So the difference in dark gulab jamun and light gulab jamun is the dark is little dry and it has less syrup soaked and light one is the moist and deeped in syrup (sugar syrup)
Try more indian sweets like: kesar falooda, motichoor ladoo, kaju katli, Rasmalai and Rasagulla i think u guys should give this a try i think u will like it for sure
You should try Rasgulla,Rasmalai, kaju katli, besan ladoo, pedha(its a sweet which is kinda oval shape or circular) there many variety of pedhas so if you can find it definitely try this sweet dishess
Hey guys next time try warm gulab jamun with ice cream, warm jalebi with cold rabri, and have gajrela (halva and not the barfi). Also something new for you to try is moong dal halva, kaju katli and motichoor laddo. Love from india❤
Next time you try Gulab Jamun(the first sweet you tried in this video), try it with vanilla ice cream means one gulab jamun plus one scoop of vanilla icecream.
Loved your vlog... So you could have started with besan barfi... Which is less sweet... Then the gajrela... Gaajar ka halwa is actually tastier particularly when hot... Best way to have Jalebi is to have freshly made - hot and crispy and with rabri, which cuts down the sweetness... The gulab jamun is also had hot and with vanila ice cream... You could also try rasmalai... N if you find a Bengali sweet place, do try gur-sandesh and malai cham cham. :)
Just a suggestion you guys... please have some hot snacks bite in between trying all sweet snacks.. cuz.. eating one sweet after the other does not give full justice to the spectrum of flavours of each individual sweet.. Also.. try this dry sweet snack.. kaju katli.. its a dairy and cashewnut sweet.. coated with edible silver gonna blow your mind..
First Pls pin

“Jalebi baby” 😭😂🤩
Gulab means rose syrup...Kala jamun (black) is because it is fried more..we mostly like the lighter one..try gulab jamun with vanilla icecream ❤❤❤
That too with the gulab jamun being warm 😋
The "sugar" is sweet honey on the Gulab Jamun and Jalebi and ect. They all have different levels of sweetness
Thank you for putting out our culture like this for everyone to know how amazing india is....love this series....
Stay safe n happy
I’m Indian and I’m so happy by loving every Indian food 🥹

Try Jalebi with little bit curd, its so good😌
Samosa and jalebi combination would be perfect to eat. That's how we eat. Besan smells like peanuts because of a mixture of ghee and flour.
Some sweets can be combined with for best experience. For me Combine Jalebi with fresh yogurt or a sweet called Rabdi ( Dip and eat )
The light gulab jamun and dark one is same.. with just the difference of cooking time... The dark one is left to cook in oil just a little bit longer to get that color...the darker one probably has more toasted flavour.. besan is chickpea flour..

Dark gulab jamun is denser as it has more content of solidified condensed milk.
Try Soan Papdi next timeeee!!! You will love it!
Try rasgulla and ras malai
Jalebi is supposed to be a bit sour as the dough is kept overnight to give it a fermented flavour
They should have cooked the grated carrot in ghee on medium low heat for 20-30 mins, it gives it a good smell
You should try Rasgulla,Rasmalai, kaju katli, besan ladoo, pedha(its a sweet which is kinda oval shape or circular) there many variety of pedhas so if you can find it definitely try this sweet dishess
So the lighter coloured Gulab Jamuns are a lot softer than the darker once, so they just melts in your mouth specially when they are hot.

This Gulab Jamun is actually called KALA JAMU, as it's darker in colour. Kala means black.
The outer crust of thus sweet is a little drier and denser.
