fun fact about dairy cows: it is physically painful for them to not be milked. my dad worked on a dairy farm in the 50's, and he still has a scar from when he was late to milk duty, and one of the bessie's kicked him. his boss never punished farmhands for being late because the cows would get mad and punish the farmhands for him
