Kent, I just wanted to take a little time to say Thank You! For you to share your knowledge about all things Cowboy and camp cooking as you do, is a very gracious and passionate thing to do and I sure do enjoy the videos that both you and your lovely wife, Shannon produce for all to see and learn from. This is valuable Americana that you are passing along and I sure hope that the younger generations realize what they have here! So, Thank You Mr. and Mrs. Rollins! Your hard work is valued and greatly appreciated. God Bless my friend.
I clicked on it because you reminded me of a few of my older family members and you talk the same way too. Straight to the point but honest. It's good to hear. Just looking for something to camp in every so often but that's durable for our family and our pets. Holding up in strong winds is a big fear of mine so thank you for mentioning that. Thank you an enjoyable video! The wind made it hard to hear but it was definitely helpful.
The peak of my range teepee has a reinforced ring, so I have just roped it to a Ponderosa pine limb on occasion. Most often I just cut a couple of lodgepoles at each new campsite so I didn't have to pack the poles. Finally I settled on using a collapsible center pole. They might weigh a pound, it's only about two feet long when collapsed, and I just roll it up in the tent when I put it away. Being 70 years old I enjoy your videos and hearing someone who shares my background and speaks my language...
I haven't slept in a tent in many (many) years, but the 10x10 with a 2 ft wall version really reminds me of one that we used while I was in the Army in the late 80's/early 90's. Those were a bit bigger, though. We could (somewhat) comfortably fit 4 or 5 soldiers with all of our gear and cots and, in the cold, a stove for heat. Good memories.
That is neat to have something like that when you are away from home and you don't want to be out in the elements. The Cowboys must love them so much and look forward to a place where they can lay their head at the end of a work day.
Just saw your video, it is fantastic. I enjoyed the time with you around the kitchen. Also like your information about the teepees. Thank you Sir. Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.
I was born in Lawton Oklahoma but live in South Florida now. When a storm comes and there is no power it is somewhat like when you are out there hot. I found that. "O2 Cool" battery operated fan is sometimes the best thing to have. If there isn't any air moving it is HOT, a battery operated fan in the window can make a big difference!
Thought you would like to know that I contacted Edwards Canvas and received a price on a 10 x 10 with 3 windows for right around $700.00 a really great price and I am planning on getting one soon. Thanks for the info. I mentioned to them that I received the info via you.
They were very thankful and kind people and were EVEN glad that I mentioned your name. They said that the normal price was $600.00 but because I mentioned You, Kent Rollins, they said it would be $700.00 LOL........ Seriously though, thanks again.
@@johnedwards6419 John I JUST received my 10x10 with walls (one window and screen door), and wonder how long the poles need to be. I want to use black pipe with a threaded connector. Thanks!
Thanks for the heads up about this video. I’m trying to learn as much as possible about canvas tents. Enjoyed it very much. Also enjoyed many of your other videos. The first recipe I tried was Hopalong green chili hominy. It was great and reminded me of my childhood - we ate a lot of hominy in our home. Best wishes.
Hello Kent! I've been subscribed for a few and have been looking through your videos. Great stuff! Thanks for all the work you put in to produce them for us. With regard to the cot feet tearing up the tent floors, I wonder if you could take some old (or new) tennis balls, cut a small slit in them, and when you're setting up your quarters put one of the balls on each foot of the cot. Might help protect the floor. If not they're good to throw for the Beagle to chase. Darryl
Hey Kent; I've often wondered where you got your Teepes from and how accommodating they were. After seeing photos of them many times at your cooking classes, I became interested in them. You've answered a lot of questions for me. Me being not so small, I like the 10X10 w/2' walls. Thanks for sharing this informative video. Stan
Kent, I think you deserve some of the roughing it in one of them Winnebago tents.... you know, the kind with the color tv, shower, built in water closet and Lazyboy recliner by the steering wheel...? That might be my kind of roughing it ....lol. I think I've heard of them referred to as a "Hilton on wheels" before, but I don't know about all that. Good to hear from you Brother, God Bless you Shannon and The Beagle! Friends till the end!
Cowboy Kent Rollins thanks Kent! Love your videos! My grandfather was a Texas Ranger and a cattle rancher in Texas! I can only imagine him eating out on the range!!!
@@CowboyKentRollins Thanks for clearing that up. When Shannon shows up at the beginning of that Christmas morning breakfast casserole that she teaches us how to make and says she just had a shower I was wondering where that would be. Not too many waterfall type rivers or creeks out there.
Kent, I just received my new Edwards Canvas 10x10 with walls. I want to support it with black pipe. Can you share the specs on your pipes. I'm trying to avoid actual geometry calculations! Thank you!
Hey kent love all your videos always watching when they come out. I was just curious I seen you were going to be in Silver Dollar City this coming up September through October will y'all be there every day for a solid month? or do you have certain days that you're going to be at Silver Dollar City? we planning on coming out
If ya want to treat canvas, even light canvas properly. Boil you up some Beeswax, Linseed oil, and Pine Pitch. brush it on the canvas with a paintbrush and leave sit in the sun to spread out and permeate the material. Never a leak again..
Kent, I called Edwards canvas today and she told me that the bottom wasn’t rubber?? She said it was vinyl. Is that what yours is?? Just making sure I called the right place?
My good man Kent! I enjoy your videos, but please invest a small sum in an inexpensive clip-on wireless microphone. Then, we'll be able to hear you better. 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾😀
+JCrook1028: From 3:22 that supposed wind screen didn't seem to work to well, if at all, hence I'd say it wasn't a wind screen. I've been a broadcaster for 40 years and I know how they work. I've got one I stay in all the time. It's 8x11 square wall made by Lance. I put it on a F450 diesel to move it around.

I spend the month of Dec. In the Idaho mountains in my 12 x14 wall tent, love it.
Fine living it is

Those tents looked so comfy. Them cowboys live better than most people 😋
Good things they are
Edwards has put a many tarps on rock trucks. Good company, excellent products. They can make anything.
Good folks they are
I always set up my new tent in the yard and turn the hose on it.... let it cure before I need it !
I have been looking at these tepee type tents for year. Thanks for the tips!
Our pleasure Michael

Probably a mic
Oh OK LOL! Love your videos Kent!
I had wondered where those tents came from. Looks pretty efficient and comfortable. I'm gonna check out Edwards Canvas Co. Thanks for sharing, Kent.

Good solid tips for tepees, in high winds having it secured well helps but it isn't a guarantee for mother natures wrath.
😂😂😂
Tipi not teepee
COMDOMinium 😂
