This play-through could’ve been titled The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivious. Not meant to be a malicious statement. I find Jon’s lack of situational awareness, poor attention to detail, and misguided conclusions he comes to all equally entertaining and frustrating. It drives me nuts and makes me laugh at the same time.
Do we think that Dar-Ma has gotten over Jon at this point; or is she going to be devastated that he's leaving his hometown sweetheart for someone more intellectually stimulating?

Jon, whatever you do - and this is extremely important - do not attack Sheogorath. No matter how much you want his truly amazing, wonderful outfit, do not attack him. Even though you can totally get this outfit, and even though it turns into an amazing dress if you're female, do not attack him for it. It's not worth it. Under no circumstances should you attack Sheogorath to get his amazing, one-of-a-kind outfit, even though its literally the most awesome thing in the game. DONT DO IT.
I always did the Shivering Isles just for the armor. There are great sets to be made. Also, search Ebrocca a bit more. The Shivering Isles loves hidden areas.
Oblivion is such a fun game. If you ever get your hands on a copy, it's definitely worth playing it. I miss the days of Oblivion. I don't know how many characters I had but it was at least 25 over the course of 6 years or so. One of my favorite games and still is.

Jon the golden saints and dark seducers in the shivering isles are equipped with non playable armor. If you somehow managed to get a gaurd killed you wouldn't be able to loot their armor and if you used console commands to add it to your inventory you wouldn't be able to equip it. You will get one set of dark seducer or golden saint armor as part of the main quest. Golden saint armor is heavy dark seducer armor is light. At some point in the main quest you'll be told to pick a side to support. You will get the armor of the opposite side so pick to support mania so that you get the dark seducer armor. Guards are player level +10 . Golden saints have 133 base hp and gain about 8.6hp/level which means for you golden saint gaurds currently have about 500hp. They also have a base armor rating of 52.5 and a very powerful self healing spell.
Makes sense I suppose. They aren't in the base game if I recall which is all he's been doing. And you only start running into them in Dementia which he avoided because it wasn't bright and colorful. And they weren't in Skyrim outside a Creation Club content thing which I don't know if he played. Hasn't played Morrowind to run into them either as they're a bit more present there.

i have never watched this series but i needed to pop by to commend jon for his unending will power. this man will release episode after episode, of well edited content with enthusiastic commentary until he completly finishes whatever game or challenge hes attempting, only ever stopping when he takes a short holiday or personal tragedy gets in the way, and even then apologises for the lack of upload! i would be lucky to have HALF the determination of this man, props to you jon and love your videos, hope youre doing well

The Shivering Isles as a whole tends to require choosing between Mania or Dementia. There aren't really any compromises as the fundamental differences between the two prevent cooperation. Edit for clarity: This only applies to situations where the denizens of the Isles have cross purposes. There are many situations in which you can & should help the locals of each area, but when they interact, in order to finish any given task, you will have to choose one side over the other. I feel this was done to enhance replayability in what is already one of (for my money) the best DLC's produced to date.
Regarding the dead wood elf. I took it to be the trapmaker of this ruin (the Daedalus if you will). Although unlike Daedalus, the wood elf was killed after his work was done
Once you've gotten further or even after you've completed the dlc if love to see a one shot of the golden Ariel and dark seducer add on for Skyrim anniversary edition

Patience. You'll have PLENTY of opportunities to check out the armour on Sheogorath's guardians (both sides). Crucible is one of my favorite towns in the game. 👍
I want the Elder Scrolls games to explore more of the realms of Oblivion, not just the demons and combat but the actual living situations of the people who get sent there after they die. Shivering Isles is amazing.

Though I guess on some level there could be something to consider with the idea of Ayleids potentially still being around in some form as think I've heard rumours of them blending in with other elven races and well, breeding with them and in turn down the line, some elves will in fact have Ayleid heritage. Not sure if it's with bosmer though, fairly certain it was something with the High Elves instead but, no idea for sure.
There might be some that mixed with Wood Elves but yeah the prevailing theory is they mixed in with the High Elves from Summerset and Direnni Elves from High Rock which I believe are also technically just High Elves.
Jon, in this DLC people that are bananas ARE the ones that introduce missions. Probably because everyone is bananas, some more than others. What's this about marrying that Dunmer lady? Did you forget all about your Argonian girlfriend back in Chorrol? Poor Dar-Ma. The problem with the command spell is that you are at a very high level, so all the enemies are going to scale with you. Good luck finding something that's level 5 or lower that the spell can actually work on.
It's the same old story that it always is. Once all the players make themselves known the "last time it was a global flood" idea will make more sense. Just like Dagon and his worldly king Cameron, with his eternal Paradise of resurrection and lake of fire to punish the unworthy. He invades from another realm to take back what he claims is his, destroying everything and beginning a new order. But with Sheogorath we have a new twist in the tale being presented. BE ILLUMINED...

No Jon Aylied are not Bosmers Aylieds were also known as the Wild Elves amd they existed at the same time as the Bosmer. They are not the same in any way. They were as different from the Wood Elves as a Wood Elf is different from a Dark Ekf. Beyond pointy ears they dont have much in common. Wood Elves live in a giant forest and have pacts about consuming only meat. Wild Elves lived in large stone cities and studied the magic of starlight. They are not related at all

Well the Second Era happened almost 3,000 years after the First started, then 900 years later the Septim Dynasty, and thus the Third Era is born.
Could you direct me to a source for your first point? From my understanding, all modern elves would be cousins of Ayleids. Their lineage would trace back to the Aldmer. The Bosmer would be a weird case, for reasons you stated. But the race existed before the Ayleid move into Valenwood.

Some items scatterd around the world will have special vary long names that are vary stupid an they look like ordinary items that john have looked over so far its amazing lol nothing & everything is utter nonsense in the shivering isles.
The guard ladies aren't actually human sized, they are larger, and therefore don't drop their armor because it wouldn't actually fit the player, but you can craft the player version of the armor using a resource called amber.
Amber armor is very different. You can get a set if the guard armor later as a quest reward, though you have to choose to help either Mania or Dementia & your choice will decide which style you get. You can get all the weapons & shields though.
Day 987 of requesting Zoo Tycoon. I don't know if the good orc's statements count as racism or sexual harassment, but knowing this expansion it's probably both and neither simultaneously. Still, good to see Jon's made it to New Sheoth - I hear the night life there's crazy.

I love how Oblivion treats the realms of Oblivion like their own self-contained worlds, with their own climates, biomes and wildlife.

I suppose that, in the context of a video game, just choosing who to kill does count as less grim than using your alchemy skill to cook up some mood stabilizers and attempt to enforce patient complaince.
I think technically all modern day elves could trace their lineage back to the Ayleids. But yes, aomw of the Ayleid's did indeed migrate south to Valenwood when they were kicked out of Cyrodiil. Buuut... The Alessian Rebellion was in the First Era, which ... Well the Second Era happened almost 3,000 years after the First started, then 900 years later the Septim Dynasty, and thus the Third Era is born.
Could you direct me to a source for your first point? From my understanding, all modern elves would be cousins of Ayleids. Their lineage would trace back to the Aldmer.
The Bosmer would be a weird case, for reasons you stated. But the race existed before the Ayleid move into Valenwood.

ah yes, i love how he missed talking to any other npc in the village besides his new girlfirend lol i also loved the fact hes missed alot of optional story misson items its brillient. Some items scatterd around the world will have special vary long names that are vary stupid an they look like ordinary items that john have looked over so far its amazing lol nothing & everything is utter nonsense in the shivering isles.

The guard ladies aren't actually human sized, they are larger, and therefore don't drop their armor because it wouldn't actually fit the player, but you can craft the player version of the armor using a resource called amber.
Amber armor is very different. You can get a set if the guard armor later as a quest reward, though you have to choose to help either Mania or Dementia & your choice will decide which style you get. You can get all the weapons & shields though.
They’re set to the same height as high elves I think. the female ones anyway…
