I was a kid in Waco Texas. Roy came to the rodeo. He did his show and when it was over he rode all around the arena on Trigger, shaking hands with every kid that came down. I did not wash my hand for a week.💜
wonderfull heartfelt memories of his father ,im in tears ,such love and admiration ,a real loss to roys family and the world ,when he passed ,but what a wonderfull legacy of music ,thank you roy ,xx ❤ mick, a fellow motorcyclist , essex uk
Thanks Dusty, I was born in 1948 and grew up watching The Roy Rogers Show on a tiny black & white tv. I dreamed of living on a ranch and having adventures like my hero Roy. The world is a better place because of him. I wish I could go back to those days.
Dusty really looks like his dad but heavier. Dusty lost his Mama at 3 days old. What a blow to Roy. Then he married Dale. Fantastic parents for Dusry. Always wondered why Dusty wasn't in movies. He did however sing with " Sons of Pioneers" in their later years. Need to see more of Dusty. 😍
Rarely do the children of the stars gain the same status. And sometimes you have to ask yourself if that's fair for the child, Hank Williams Jr had a hell of a time....Everyone Expected him to be the exact carbon copy of his father. And just because he could write the songs doesn't mean Hanks alcoholism would be a good example for his son to follow
What I most admired about Roy and Dale was their love for the Lord. They did not compromise with the world, including Hollywood. I will always respect them for their beliefs and behavior in life.
I want to thank you for sharing this video because as the fourth generation of the Rogers it's always cool to see old videos of my grandparents and great grandparents and their stories
Unfortunately Dusty is not like his dad. Why don't you ask him why he did such a bad job of managing the museum. I met several of them (family) and couldn't believe they said such unkind things about Roy. Especially after living off Roy's reputation instead of making it on their own. I loved Roy, Dale and all of their animals. Too bad the family didn't.
I just did love Your Dad and You Dusty! Wow you look just like your handsome Dad Roy!! I was too young to see all his shows but I have my daughter taping them for me off my cable tv! He is my hero!!! 💙💙💙😘
Roy liked anything that was fast- he raced boats, loved motorcycles and his Lincoln Continental and bred races horses. Of course, Trigger was a really fast horse!
Thanks Dusty, Your Dad was my idol growing up ... I guess I learned his fashion sense ... I had a beautiful purple ‘96 Honda American Classic 1100 ... I was a motorcycle cop in Florida after growing up on the back of a horse my entire life... I’m now 65.... I still ride horses, and I still ride motorcycles... You and I both had great role models ... oh, I’ve been playing guitar (C & W) since about 1967.... thanks for the memories !
How'd you like to have to walk in the path of your father's shoes - Roy Rogers? Thank you Roy for raising such fine children as Dusty who tell their stories so lovingly. An American Icon of screen and family values- Roy and Dale- a true love story . All the Greats are dead, our turn comes.
I have a Magna V65, the larger version of the V45. It's a great one. I felt happy, hearing Dusty saying Roy Rogers rode the same kind of bike (and same color)! The Honda 90-degree V4 engine is powerful and smooth; it was an immediate predecessor to the engines in supersport bikes.
TheOneTrueKaliban I have to agree .... I pity the youth of today who have never known the feeling of sitting a horse on the trails... I grew up in the fifties and sixties on Roy & Trigger... and I’ve been riding horses since I could walk... (I also ride motorcycles, and was a motorcycle cop in Florida) ... I’m retired now from law enforcement, I’m sixty five... but I work full time as a child abuse investigator in Pennsylvania... and I still ride horses and motorcycles ! Thanks Roy...
I think it's neat that Roy Rogers was a deputy sheriff in Victorville. I think he was supposedly a deputy sheriff on the TV show or at least he would help the sheriff (Harry Harvey). Roy was really a big kid at hear. Dale came off being a little Goody Two Shoes for me.
Dusty, in almost every video of Roy and Trigger people are saying thats Little Trigger or Trigger Jr. so please tell me when Trigger was used, I know Roy said that Trigger did them all and i dont like hearing that Jr. did the most and i have heard that they had to pull the Ole Man out to show Jr. how its done.....but i like Trigger!! and i dont want anyone saying they are all Jr...... HELP
Dianne Shaw Roy said the original Trigger started in every movie and all episodes of his TV series. He used Trigger Jr. at some of his rodeo shows- he was the “ dancing” horse in the videos!

I just read Dusty's memoir, Growing Up With Roy and Dale. He's a great and fun storyteller!

Roy was my childhood hero. I'm 80 now and he still is my hero.
Me too. 1942 kid! Loved Roy Rogers.
What I most admired about Roy and Dale was their love for the Lord. They did not compromise with the world, including Hollywood. I will always respect them for their beliefs and behavior in life.
Meet Roy at the Victorville museum, He was so nice to stop and talk to us. This made our day.
That is SOOO funny!! I didn't know anybody else would know that story!! Roy was a little "outlaw" at heart, and that's why we love him so much!!

Your Dad meant so much to me. Thank you for sharing.
A real special guy, Roy was. He shared that with us by the example of his private life.

Excellent Dusty! Thanks for keeping the spirit alive! I didnt know he rode either.

How can America have let this museum close? If we've truly forgotten this man, may God forgive us!

Was it bad management of the legacy by his kids? Maybe too busy spending the fortune instead of managing the legacy of restaurants and museums.

LEONARD WAS ROY ROGERS ROY WAS WHOM FATHER GOD MADE HIM 2B. BELIEVE ROY LOVED SINGING GOSPEL PROMISES. 🎶 🐎 🙏

Dianne Shaw what are you talking about? This makes no sense to me.
Dianne Shaw Roy said the original Trigger started in every movie and all episodes of his TV series. He used Trigger Jr. at some of his rodeo shows- he was the “ dancing” horse in the videos!
A 2 wheeled friend?
Dusty looks like his father.
He looks alot like Roy.
Moving the museum cross country and losing everything, this wasn't smart. You should've been named Esau.
You can tell he's never been poor.

Beats peein in a parade float :)
