It is the nature of things to slow down in winter. Time to fix the stuff that was put off during the busy spring, summer and fall. Things that can be done out of the weather where you can be safe and reasonably warm. It’s good to make progress, I know the cold doesn’t help. Plans have to change to accommodate the circumstances, it makes life interesting, flexibility in day to day planing and change keeps things interesting. I just love your outlook and attitude. Best wishes and keep smiling.
Lumber has been scarcer here in Chile. Which makes no sense at all. We have saw mills all around us. If I go to a store it is hard to buy but if I go to the Saw Mill they have all that I want. I am starting to be sure that this is all contrived. I know you like the snow but I am happy with out it. We are cutting fire wood as fast as we can right now. trying to get things ready for next winter. Our hens keep getting beat up by our geese. Haahah. It seems they lay eggs where you never want them to. Ducks are even worse. Here in Chile a friend of mine is building a cabin 3br and 1.5 ba for $10,000 in supplies. Good price for the person who knows how to build and use his hands. Good to see things and thanks for the video. Jim in Chile.
I don't free range the hens because it'll attract too many predators to the yard, plus the manure is as valuable as the eggs and I want to collect it all.
@@thebossoftheswamp Well we have a Chicken yard that is about .25 an acre. There are two hen houses in that yard. One for the ducks and Geese and the other for the hens. The problem is that they do not care and share houses even if we try to separate them. It is kind of a pain but we have so many animals it is a must. Thank you. Jim

Oh I don't blame her for not wanting to rush out to work with those Temps and windchill. There are plenty of other things to do and nothing that has to be done right now over there. I was surprised to hear the girls were laying eggs, then I remembered that this is their first winter. Next year they will molt and take most of the winter off. Will you get a few new chick's in the spring for winter eggs or will you go back to store bought eggs? Stay warm and on the road up there!
