It amazes me, seeing it, that they thought they were unproductive, delivering lousy music and playing badly, while they are nailing a bunch of masterpieces in 15 days, and the performing is, yes, raw, but perfect! That scene in which Paul makes up Get Back in 15 minutes is just chilling.

This series was absolutely beautiful and brought me to tears on several occasions, just seeing them interacting with each other and desperately trying to hold it all together. It was joyful, but melancholy at the same time as we know they'd soon break up. But they don't want to - they can feel themselves drifting, but they don't want to be. It's re-ignited my passion for the Beatles in a way I wasn't sure I'd get back.

I will always be grateful to Peter Jackson for having corrected this long-standing perpetuated myth that this was one of the darkest episodes of the Beatles legacy. Instead, it a glorious story of redemption by 4 truly remarkably talented men who genuinely loved each other. Jackson let the movie speak for itself and what you witness is an unsurmountable pressure they put upon themselves, and yet they emerged with some of the greatest songs ever created. The movie truly humanizes them and shows the staggering amount of work put into creating their magic. Along the way you get to know John, Paul, George and Ringo like never before as 4 completely natural and genuinely nice people. My respect for them only grew from this movie. I’m sadden that this has been hidden for this long and we have lost so many of them - Linda, Maureen, Billy, George Martin, Mal Evans and of course George and John. Thank you Peter for doing this.

80% of the sessions are them just goofing around, playing a bunch of songs that have nothing to do with the album, just hanging out, jamming. And the other 20% is "finding" the album that became let it be. But 100% of it is beautiful and brilliant

One of my favorite scenes is when Ringo and friends are sitting there in the doldrums, the morning after George quit the band, and it's all heavy, and then as if on cue, in comes a florist's delivery man and he says in a tone as if someone just died, 'These are for George Harrison,' and Ringo burst out laughing because the comedic timing of that is just priceless. I loved it, like right then I knew that Ringo was thinking, 'Oh, George will be back, don't worry, we're too close as brothers for this to be the end.' And I thought any of them would've had the same reaction no matter who quit the band, they were that close.

Peter Jackson did a brilliant job of stripping away some of the Beatlemania gloss and showing The Beatles as human beings and how their individual talents and personalities were so crucial to their collective songcraft and ultimately their brotherhood. I was surprised to see Paul in particular show such a range of emotions, at times feeling perturbed, elated and sad for him. I've often read how Billy Preston's arrival lifted everyone up but to see it on film made it real and deeply spiritual, he's the unsung hero of this project. To see sweet George ignored was tough but he also found his moments of redemption, always the most soulful Beatle. And Lennon will always be the greatest most literate rock musician hands down. The band's most talented pure musician, Paul called him "The Boss" in that heartbreaking private conversation at the cafeteria, such is the esteem that Lennon carries. And Ringo has to be the coolest most laid back dude on the planet yet always so focused during sessions. Fantastic rare and unexpected footage, great sound restoration. This was a phenomenal series, worth rewatching to catch the nuances missed the first go around. Thank you to Peter Jackson and his team. And of course thank you Beatles.

Watched part 1 and it was magnificent. What struck me is the strong and unspoken bond between Paul and John musically. I believe that George was envious of that relationship. You also see that Paul's being 'bossy' is more like him just trying to fill the vacuum left by Epstein's death (yes, he says as much and it's been talked about for years). They are also at an age where you are not 'old', but you are not kid either and you must take responsibility without being told what to do and they are struggling with that. It also became apparent that Ringo was more of a glue keeping things together than I previously thought basically by not taking sides, being supportive and also a rock solid drummer. Clearly adored by the other members as well as Yoko and Linda.

They were amazingly talented self taught musicians who managed to create incredibly creative and original songs for the world. When they wanted to, wow could they play! This series is just fantastic, from the same processing techniques as "they shall never grow old", which is another masterpiece.
I've loved the Beatles since I was ten, and that was after they'd split and JL was already gunned down. To see Paul McCartney is ep2 talking of the possible split, you can feel his heart break, the love these guys had for each other was immense.
Hats off to you again PJ, you've come a long way from "meet the Feebles" - which is still one of my favourites 😀

After George left for the week, they were renewed and when the move to Apple AND Billy Preston really rocketed the fun. Also, it would have been so great to have them do an actual concert. They looked like they really enjoyed the live show. It would have been great to hear Sgt. Pepper and White Album songs mixed with the oldies and new songs.

I am the son of one of the biggest Beatles fans. That’s all I hear growing up, including my dad’s take on all the drama etc. It was my understanding that Paul and John were bitter rivals that couldn’t stand each other and finally they were just too big to be in the same band together. This documentary completely blew that myth out of the water. Paul and John were like brilliant twins. They were so close that the other two just couldn’t quite fit in. I have to give John and Paul a lot of credit for how well they treated George and Ringo. But I don’t fault George for feeling the way he did. Thank you for setting the record straight!

Before this series, I heard John's comments on the recordings -- "now he'd like to do All The Angels Come" -- as John taking the piss, checked out, no longer taking the band seriously. But what I see in the films is John the statesman, completely present, unselfishly trying to resolve conflicts and keep everyone happy and working together. Thank you, Peter Jackson!

Thanks a lot Peter for showing us the truth. For me, it's really meaningful people know the real position of Paul after all the hate people had to him. After 50 years, the story re writes and it's incredible how more people will stop to hate to Paul. The film denies a lot of myths.

Paul said the film took a lot of guilt off his shoulders. He had bought into the myth that he had been difficult and bossy, and aftter all this time finally got to see the truth of the matter.

In part three, director Michael Lindsay Hogg complained "there's no story" in all the footage they'd taken. Huge kudos to Peter Jackson for not only finding the story, but presenting it in such a compelling way.
