Yikes that like way more than the actual dash cam cost!, In fact its like maybe 5 times what this camera I used cost! Glad u did it yourself mate, and thank you! :)

I still can't understand where does the red wire connect from rear camera to??? My unit only needs Red one from rear lights the black one comes to front
To be honest, you can install it simpler than I did. If you only do the front camera/mirror and only plug it into the socket (instead of installing a 2nd one under the dash for it like I did) then it would take very little time. or if u do the rear cam too, the hardest part is routing the wire to the back. Also you can not bother wiring the rear camera red wire to the reverse circuit if u don't want to, it still works, just doesn't display the rear cam on screen automatically when u put it in reverse, I never use it to reverse with anyway.
Hi ya I’ve just seen a gizmo on UA-cam for an OBD power supply which is compatible with a dashcam. It’s hidden under the dashboard and gives constant power without hard wiring plus free up the cigarette lighter. Just thought it would of interest all the best.
Cheers mate. yeah Ive seen those, I also saw something that was a little like a relay that you wired directly to the battery and u could adjust the voltage then it took its dwitch from another circuit and u could also set a timer on it, so it cut the power say 10 mins, 1 hour or whatever after u turned the car off. Good idea for a dash cam i thought, requires more wiring in tho. I saw it online somewhere and have never been able to find it since.. not knowing what its called doesnt help. lol
Thanks, your tips helped, I just got done installing mine and really loving it, and after watching your video, made it very simple and easy. Thanks again.
Hi. Can you send me you wiring diagram please? I want to know if I do not connect the reverse power line, will I need to still power the camera from another source?

Did you ever do a video to show the menu and how it works? The instructions for mine are vague to say the least. Great videos, it has given me some ideas and it's good to know the red wire does not need to be connected for it to work.
Hi, yeah I recently made a one year on update video where I went through the menu again and what I've learnt what they do which may be some use to you. ►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.htmlm50s I went through the menu in my first video but this update one is better as I've figured more options out since then. Mine didn't come with any instructions at all so its a case of figuring out some of them out, as you say they're vague at best. There's a couple I still don't know what they do and don't seem to do anything on mine. Yeah you don't need to wire that red wire into the reverse light, it will still record front and rear. It just wont auto display the rear cam on the screen when you put it in reverse like a reversing camera.. I never use it to reverse with anyway. Hope it helps
LeesRandomVids in your vids and you power on the car does your power point activate. With my ignition off the red light on the lead stays on. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. Presumably I could have 24 hour recording but I have feeling my battery is going to go flat. What do you think? btw my menu is slightly different. Can’t seem to find a setting for the camera to turn off after 20 seconds. I’ll have another look tomorrow as I’m attempting the rear camera install.
Yeah some cars have permanent power to the socket, mine cuts the power when the cars turned off making my camera shut down. There's pros and cons as you say, you'll get 24h recording with permanent power however I think a 32gb memory card can only hold roughly 3 hours of recording so it will over write after 3 hours anyway, but handy if you know someone has been hanging around your car or scratched it in the last 3 hours. If it receives an impact it will protect that recording and not over write it as mine will do too, but mine will have to boot up from sleep and record it, yours will capture the impact where as mine will record after it has switched on missing the first few seconds. The downside is the cars battery, I'm completely guessing here but id have thought it would take a while to flatten the battery but it is using the battery all the time. If you use the car everyday it maybe fine, if you went on holiday for a week or two then remember to turn it off manually so u don't return to a flat battery. Yeah if you can u want the screen to auto turn off as its difficult to use the mirror with the screen on. If yours is permanently powered it might not turn the screen on every time u start the car anyway.
Hi. To run the wires through the side airbags did you have to remove the 12v battery? They should not deploy because of that but I have that doubt before I start with the installation. Thanks
Ah, down the side of the window? Well my car didn't have airbags there so I didn't need to worry about that but I believe they say to disconnect the battery if working on or around airbags for safety.
It fits over a standard size rear view mirror and is powered via the car's power socket. If you have those then the rest is just figuring out where to route the wires.
@@LeesRandomVids Thanks for the reply. You are talking about dash cam. The rear camera gets its power when you engage the rear gear or when reversing the car. Is the mechanism same for all cars or does it differ for different cars?
Both the front and the rear camera are powered from the mirror, which is powered from the cars power socket. You can also wire the rear camera into the reverse light circuit, what this does is when you put the car into reverse it automatically displays the rear camera on the screen. It's just a switch, it doesn't power the camera, you don't need to wire it in to the reverse light circuit if you don't want that feature, it will still power and record the rear camera if you dont. And yes every car will be the same as all cars have reverse lights, but the wires will just be in different places depending on the model of car. Have a quick look at this video and look around 5 minutes in, i plug the rear camera in and power it just from the mirror before I even installed it in the car. ua-cam.com/video/reM6YwvAjko/v-deo.htmlo
Thanks a lot super useful... in 2020 I bought a dash cam myself and turned out to be exactly the same one as this video, but I have a question... The red wired can be conected to any of the reverse lights? or has to be specifically to one of them? I already installed the mirror with the front camera exactly as you said and its working properly, but left the rear camera for later after I resolve my doubt, also after i tried the front dash cam I couldnt get it to tell me the speed i was travelling to or to tell me where the road cameras are... is there anything you can help me with? thanks a lot in advance
Yeah the red wire can go to either reverse light. As long as that light only lights up when it is put into reverse then it's fine. When power is sent to the red wire it tell the mirror to display the rear camera on screen. It's basically just a switch to tell it to display the rear camera on screen, so wire it to a reverse light and it will switch when you put it into reverse. On the second part, my dash cam mirror doesn't have speed or road camera capability, I believe that would require GPS built in too so it knew where it was. Mine is purely a camera, no GPS or anything like that.
@@LeesRandomVids thank you so much! Really I got a lot from your video, my camera does have a GPS and tells me where the speed cameras are on the road, I just needed to format the sd memory card and plug it with a USB cord to my PC and reboot it and now it's updated and warns me about the cameras and what speed is the limit too, super useful and cheap I gotta say
@john lerner thanks for the prompt reply. But I am enquiring about the AV line. I bought mine without it, thinking I could use my current backup camera with the RCA connector. However the DVR only uses AV in. I am looking for the AV line in stores and there are 2 models. 4 pin and 5 pin. Which one did you use? I.e. Which one will work with this DVR?
It's in the next video mate, tho to be honest I did it a much more difficult and long winded way of wiring into my light cluster because I didn't want to splice into the wiring harness. The easiest way is to connect it into the wiring harness that goes to the reverse light using splice connectors.
Hello Fella Installed camera to my 2003 V W CADDY rear camera is showing upside down bizarrely checked braket on rear camera only one way to fit ie not adjustable any ideas thank you
Yeah that is why it is blue, to try to reduce the dazzle as you cant angle the mirror down or the camera will point to the sky. It seems to work, but makes the mirror feel darker. I didn't like it at first, but I have gotten use to it now.
Nah I'm afraid not. There is no option to turn it off. The only way you could do that would be to disconnect the wire that switches the screen to show the reverse camera when you put the vehicle in reverse then switch it to show the rear camera manually every time as is doesn't show the lines that way.. but that would be a right pain to do every time.
Yeah I did it a more complicated way than necessary, you don't need to wire it into the light if you don't want to, that was just to make the screen change to display the rear camera when reversing. You can leave that option off or unconnected, or wire it into the wire harness, but I didnt want to do that so I out it into the light instead.
Having two issues with mine. It will randomly stop recording, or entirely shut down while driving. Sometimes after only one mile, sometimes a while longer. Not sure if it's because my cigarette lighter socket is not ignition on. The other issue I have is when the camera is on, I get a lot of static interference with my XM satellite radio.
Yeah the switching off I can only suggest looking for a loose connection, either power from the socket is cutting out or the wire going to the mirror. If they're both fine then it must be the camera. 1 other person mentioned they had interference from a satellite radio on here before in the comments a while back somewhere, dont know if they found a solution or not. I've not experienced either of those issues myself so cant help u any more than that mate. Good luck!
Thank you for the video I have the same exact blackbox DVR dual lens. The problem is that when I connected the red wire I think I burned my camera because it shows only white ( probably I had to switch everything off ). So I got the 2d camera everything works but no red lines or sound sensors and now I'm afraid to connect the red wire any idea plz
I don'y know mate, I just connected my red wire and it worked, maybe your first camera was already faulty when it was white. When you say No red lines? Do u mean those parking lines? They only appear if the red wire is connected to the reverse circuit and when you put the car into reverse
I need some help here please.. I have got a dash /reverse camera from AlliExpress and paid to installed it by some car audio guys here in Perth. However they don't know whats wrong. when the car goes to reverse the unit is not responding to reverse mode. (not visualize it) (Still shows and records dash camera and you can't activate settings unless you put the gear on drive again.) When engine starts unit powers up too. GPS good. Dash camera very good! But reverse camera nothing,no signal ...Also I have noticed that when I am on reverse doesn't respond at all until I get to drive or parking gear. Then reacts again to my touch. the red cable that is coming from the the unit for the camera is connected to the brown positive of the light( no ground (black red color) wire on this cable line )only 2 wires I tried another line that has ground (3 wires) and connected red to positive and black red color wire to the negative of the rear light ,and still the same problem no reverse view.. Any help will be much appreciated !
Not sure, but mine had the power cable that goes to the power socket obv then one single red wire that switches the display to the rear camera. That red wire is like a switch to tell it to display the rear camera, so it needs to be connected to a wire that only becomes live when the car is in reverse, so the reverse light circuit. Try first disconnecting the switch wire and see if it all works normally without it.
Hi there from Spain, my friend. Video is so useful. One question though...Do you have any idea how to change the BOOT LOGO in this mirror? My car is an Honda and it would be nice to show the big H logo when it initiates. Thank u so much in advance.
Hola amigo! I don't know mate, I agree it would be good if you could change it to your cars logo or something, mine just has a red car. I don't know if its possible to change it tho.
I have exactly this one in my car, but when I change to back gear the camera doesn’t change to full screen back camera with signal lines. I installed everything correctly, in the first it worked perfectly. So what’s wrong with that please. Thank you so much for your tips.
That's the wire(s) that connects to the reverse light circuit, if it worked ok before but not now then maybe the wires have become disconnected? Check the wires, and check your reverse light is working too. If both of them are ok then I dont know. Hope that helps tho.
Yeah I just clipped mine on on my right side drive, pointing way off to the side though if I keep mirror in the right place for use 😐 The rest of it, I had no idea I'd have to pull panels off...no idea how I'm gonna do it without screwing it up 🤦♀️
The camera in the back of the mirror is movable so you should be able to point the camera more towards the front and still be able to use the mirror. You don't have to pull the panels off if you don't care about the wire showing, you could always use sticky tape if that's easier. It's your car at the end of the day so it's up to you if that's an option. Hope it helps.
Thanks mate. Yeah if you have enough room behind the light to hide the plug that plugs in to the socket normally, to drop the 12V down to 5V. I put a second cigarette socket under the dash for mine running from the existing one.
@@LeesRandomVids yeah I was also considering that.. Downside I've learned today.... Mirror vibrates on motorway and when passenger drops there visor down it knocks the mirror as its wider
Yeah I've found out if the passenger puts the visor all the way down on mine it hits mine too as it's about half an inch too wide, but if they drop it like 90 degrees down it's ok. It's just if they want to admire themselves in the mirror behind the sun visor lol I don't get any vibrating on the motorway on mine, none I've noticed anyway, I guess that's down to each cars mirror strength, I sometimes get a very tiny bit when the engine is idling when the engine is cold on a cold day, until its warmed up. I found it weird using the mirror when I first put mine in, with the blue tint etc, didn't like it at first but I've got use to it now, I don't really notice it so much now.
Can i install in the other way around? I mean currently your lens is on the left, can I put it on the right instead? Will the video turn upside down or can be adjusted?
Hi, its made to only be the one way up. All the video, menu screen and everything would be upside down as well as the buttons etc. If you're wanting to do this because yours is a left hand drive car then you dont need to do this, you can angle the camera on the back of the mirror for either left or right hand drives cars. Hope it helps :)
Hey there, Great Video Mate; You dont know the Cheap Shoddy tricks the So-called Techies use to fleece you for a simple job as this DIY. Its appreciated that theres clear disclaimer. Im yet to install a similar system in a HYUNDAI EON hatchback & since its a Frugal small engine, it works in sync with BATTERY and a AMS - alternator managament system which enables all that JAZZ for FE. I was wondering if the Working functionality of car gets affected in anyway after adding a cam. It should'nt normally but the MNFR service guys say Nay to accessories. Anycase the detailing of attaching with the ply tools was Fun & good. KUdos. Shall revert you here after Install
Hi, Well, if the car has a power socket then I believe you're not really adding anything to the car that it hasn't already been designed for, as it just takes power from that power socket. And if you chose to add a second socket like I did its just the same as plugging a one into two adapter into the socket, it just leaves a socket free should you ever need to use one for a SatNav or phone charger etc. The car is designed to power its power socket so I wouldn’t thought it would affect the AMS at all. Plus I think the cam uses very little power anyway I doubt it will have any effect on the AMS, its not like you're powering a big TV or something, it will be negligible. Just my opinion of course. The rear cam is the part where you're suppose to wire it to the reverse light to act as a switch for turning on the reversing cam screen. I chose to do a more long winded way of actually wiring it to the light cluster rather than cutting into the wiring harness via a splice connector just to avoid any potential issues, which were unlikely, but even so. If you're concerned about this part then you don't actually need to wire it to the reverse light. Both the cameras will still work and record front and rear without it, it just wouldn't turn the rear cam full screen on the mirror automatically as a reversing cam when you put the car in reverse (you can do it manually on mine if u wanted to), to be honest I don't use it anyway, I just fitted it because it was possible (I believe some don’t come with that option anyway). Anyway bit of a long answer but hope it helps somewhat and hope the video helped you too. Cheers mate. Good luck.
Installed one today. When i am reversing it stops. Only works every 5 seconds. I did not connect the red wire though. Could this be the problem? That the camera itself isnt getting enough power?
I wouldn't have thought so.. The red wire from the rear camera is to tell the unit when you put the car into reverse, so if you dont connect that wire then the unit doesnt know when you're in reverse so nothing should happen when you put your car into reverse. It gets its power from the cigarette lighter socket. Unless yours is different.
I have the same dash camera Chinese version it playback only the first 1 minute saved file and the massage for the rest of the files"unsupported or corrupted or..." , your support is highly appreciated
I don't know, but it could be the memory card, maybe try it with another one. If you don't have a spare memory card try formatting the existing one, but if the memory card is faulty then formatting probably wont help, buts its worth a try. I sometimes format mine every now and again just to clean it out. Its also a good idea to format a new card when you first put it in the device. You could also try resetting the dash cam to factory defaults. Other than that, I don't know. Hope it helps.
TY!! Oh I cant remember exactly, it was almost 2 years ago when I installed it. I started one afternoon and finished off the next afternoon. But that second afternoon was installing a second power socket into the dash to plug it into. The front cam doesn't take long at all, the rear cam is time finding route for the wire to the back.
Does your mirror tilt down every time u go over a speed bump? I had one like this and I had to constantly Re adjust the mirror again everytime I go over a speed bump
No mine doesn't move at all, it was a concern when I was installing it that it might, but no. This one is quite light and obv it depends how strong or stiff the cars mirror is. Sometimes mine does vibrate very very slightly when the car is idling on a cold engine until its warmed up.
Your video was very helpful, thank you! I also watched your "unpacking" video and I too bought mine on EBAY. However, you said you paid L30( 30 pounds)! That is approximately 45-50 U.S. dollars! I paid $22.95 U.S.- with free shipping! Did you have to pay taxes or something? I'm just curious why there is such a big price difference.
Thanks mate I'm glad it helped! Yeah there were cheaper ones, low as £15 I think but without the rear camera, and others with a slightly different rear camera but this one was around £30. I didnt pay any taxes no because its was a UK seller, maybe the seller did. Its even better for you then to get it even cheaper!
I am thinking about buying one of these BUT i have blue tooth etc through the back mirror so if I put this other mirror over this will it effect my mirror ?
I don't know mate, obv it fits over the existing mirror so if u need to use or see the original mirror for anything then yeah it will be covered up. Like if u have buttons on the front of your mirror then they will be covered up, but buttons on the bottom of the mirror maybe ok unless you get unlucky and they are where the mirror cam fitting straps are. But if you just mean will it effect the bluetooth signal, I don't know for sure but personally I don't think it would, but I'm only guessing. Maybe you could try covering your mirror up with something first to test if u still get a good signal with it covered up before purchasing anything? like some thick cardboard or something.
I wired up the same type of camera like you have but I'm having a problem. When I turn on the lights on the car my backup camera turns completely white. When the lights are off it works fine. Any ideas? I'm wired into the reverse light 12v + and the ground on the rear light cluster loom
That's weird, It's definitely wired to the ground and not accidentally into the positive side of the light circuit? Just strange why it does it only when the lights are on. Does the rear camera activate ok when you put it into reverse with the light off? Maybe try connecting to a different ground, like the car body via a screw head or something just to eliminate the light circuit from the possibility.

Hi. It is to lock (or protect) a file so the Dash Cam does not record over it. If the padlock shows on a file then it is protected and cannot be recorded over or deleted, the only way to delete them is to format the memory card. Hope it helps 😃
Hello... I have one question about cam. I bought Jansite dash cam. Displey on the left side. I put memory card 16 gb. I have problem with adjusting time and date when I turn on camera... It cant memory date and time. Everytime when I set this data, it is correct. When I turn off car, it deleted date and time and put 2019 year.... Everytime I need again to set time and date. Do anyone know, what is the problem? Tnx
Did you test it before you fitted it? If you did then I assume it didnt do that before which could imply something during installation, like a trapped or broken wire or loose connection somewhere. Double check all your wires and connections. or it could be faulty, in which case get in contact with who u bought it from.
It's for switching the screen to display the rear camera when you put it into reverse, to act as like a parking camera. You wire it into the reverse light circuit so when your reverse light comes on when you put the car in reverse, it displays the rear camera on screen.
No probs mate. You mean it keeps the rear camera displayed when you take it back out of reverse? Hmm that's strange. Or do u mean it just doesnt turn off? Mine just switches back to the forward facing camera when I take it out of reverse, then auto switches off after 20 seconds (that's an option in the settings).
Sorry mate I didn't get a notification you had responded. Anyway the option to make the display turn off automatically is the LCD Brightness option in the menu, you can set it to 10, 20 or 30 seconds on mine or 'off' which means the auto turn off is off, so it says on. I show how to do it here: ua-cam.com/video/qpukX0-W4oE/v-deo.html Hope it helps.
In the options go to LCD brightness and you can set it to 10, 20 or 30 seconds or off. With off the screen just stays on all the time, selecting 10, 20 or 30 seconds the screen will turn off after 10, 20 or 30 seconds depending on what u chose. If you want to turn the screen off manually you can press the power button, that just turns the screen off but keeps recording. If you hold down the power button for a couple of seconds however it will turn the whole thing off. That's how mine works anyway. Hope it helps.
Here you go, this clip shows you how to turn the screen off or set the screen to automatically turn off and keep recording: ►ua-cam.com/video/qpukX0-W4oE/v-deo.html
why don't they make the mirror auto cams that fit onto the bracket so we can remove the old mirror if we want ! thanks for the informative video ,drive safe sir ,buckle up and enjoy life
Yeah I think that would be a great if they did. Maybe each car manufacturer has a different mounting for its mirrors so maybe thats why they dont, would be a good thing tho if we could. And thanks mate, glad it useful to you and you too! :D
Ahh you mean on the screen when I was talking about the camera pointing slightly to the left? Yeah the wire was covering a bit of the camera on the right hand side too, but the camera does point slightly to the left, but not enough to be a problem. :D
Hi. I'm Italian. I have serious problems understanding your so obscure English manual. So I do not use the dash camera with all its possibilities. For example, I do not know what to do in case of an accident. Does registration start alone? and if the room does not start, what should I do ?. Also I do not know how you can see the recordings without disassembling the memory card. Can you publish a more detailed and illustrated manual? Or an instructive video? Other issues: - the camera is powered only when the car is in motion but tells me continuously that the battery (of the camera) is empty and the special sticker flashes continuously. Even during long trips. - I often get the message "full memory must be blocked or deleted" in this case I do not understand what I have to do. I think that if you do not delete the new file, the new files are stored on top of the oldest ones. It's right? Good job. Ciao Ciao Alfredo
Hi, maybe this video will help you where I go through the setting ►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.html If you have a crash the camera should save the file with the crash, the option is called 'gravity sensing' on mine, and you can set the sensitivity to low medium or high. This creates protected files that the camera will not record over ( I set my to low sensitivity or else it fills the memory card with protected files just with normal driving) ►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.html Yes you can see the recording on the screen and play the videos back on the mirror. First press OK to stop it from recording, then press the button that looks like a flower 2 times to select the videos, then press ok ►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.html The battery on mine is rubbish, it is always almost flat, but it gets power from the car when it is moving. The battery is to record a few seconds if the car is it in a car park when not turned on. Hmm, if the card is full, try formatting the card, this will erase everything. But yes, when the card is full it should record over the old files automatically. Go into the settings and make sure 'cyclic record' is turned on, either 1, 2 or 3 minutes (or whatever options yours has). ►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.html If the card is full of protected files then it wont record over protected files, you need to format the card to delete these. Also lower the sensitivity as mentioned above Hope it helps!
it is far much more easier to just connect the red reverse cameras cable to the rear tail light wiring connector (on wire numbered 2) test it out by setting car in reverse , only reverse lights on and connect red wire to different wires in that connector, . i personally didn't cut or solder the red wire, connector can easily 2 wires within it
Yeah, I just didn't want to cut into the car's wiring harness. Easiest way tho would be to just connect into the wire or even the connector if possible.
Yeah that's what I originally thought to do with mine, that's the easiest way. But how it was moulded didn't allow it, or something like that, i cant remember exactly now, it was a few years ago. 👍
Help for Help? I have here this dascham from my friend. Its bricked, I cannot go past boot logo. Would you know the right combination for accesing the recovery mode ? Thanks a lot.
Oh I've no idea on that one mate, don't even now if its possible. Have u tried removing the memory card then turning it on just to rule out it being the card. Addition: I've just noticed from one of my other videos that on the back of it next to the Mic hole there is another hole with Reset written next to it. Have u tried pressing this?
I was trying to remove the card, but it wont help. it was empty as well, I also tried to format it to be really cleaned. i noticed there are two reset holes from the back of the device, one is doing noting and other one just look like it only restart the device softly. it means it will show logo ANDROID and black screen again. I think it could be possible since its android and other android 4.4 devices can access it.
Don't know mate but the first thing id do is to check you still have power coming from the cars power socket. Try plugging something else into it to check, if you don't have power you could have blown a fuse in the car. You could also try plugging it into someone elses car to see if it works in theirs if you don't have anything else to plug into yours to check. Once you've eliminated this possibility and you know you have power coming from the socket, the next thing id try would be to plug the dash cam into your computer or laptop via a usb cable as this will power it too. If it works with the usb cable but not in the car then you know its probably the cable that's faulty that plugs into the cars power socket (sometimes those plugs had fuses inside too). If finally it doesn't work from the cars power or via usb to computer than its must be your dash cam that's possibly faulty or damaged. Id suggest contacting the person you purchased it from then. Hope it helps.
Go to the language setting in the options menu. I show how to do it here with it starting in Chinese changing to English: ►ua-cam.com/video/qpukX0-W4oE/v-deo.html Hope it helps :D
Every car is different, you need to find a route for each car. You can either go across the top as I did or the most likely place is across the bottom under the door sills to the back.
To play them back? I just double clicked them like any other video file and my default media player (windows media player) played them. Or do you mean how do I get them onto my computer? I took the memory card out and put that in the computer and transferred the files. Hope it helps :)
HI! I have the exact same dash cam mirror but it came with a different reverse camera, that has only one red wire. Should I just plug this red wire to the positive side of the reverse light and is it done?
Someone posted the same question on the part 2 video a couple of weeks ago that theirs also had just one red wire but haven't updated if it worked. Here's what I wrote to him. "I don’t know for sure mate but if its made that way then id assume so. Id guess that that red wire is a trigger wire and that it gets its negative (as well maybe the power too) through the main wire that comes from the front camera/mirror and your red wire is just a switch. Where as mine is maybe using the power from my rear light to work the rear camera when in reverse, hence a red and black wire to make a new circuit, and then overrides the front cam. I'm just guessing here so don't hold me on it, but there is one way to find out, try test fitting it." So I think yes you are correct, but I don't know for sure. Would be great if you post if it worked after you've fitted it to know 100% for others with the same question. Cheers mate.
Thank you for the detailed videos mate. BTW the housing of my rearview camera looks as the same as your bulbhousing in the backuplight (I mean the cube shaped object, that has 4 "holes" at each corner. It has exactly the same shape and size), lol
Put one on my Freelander 2 took about 10 minutes if I can do it anybody can do it my wife said I'm an idiot and she knows everything so it keeps telling me
Elvis Best I’m waiting for my extension cord for the backup cam. Did you hook it up to the reverse light or to the battery? Mine has just one red wire for power too?
@Elvis: Yeah mate, I like the fact its a mirror and just forget its there now. @Smitty: Yeah, people have asked this before and someone got back to me to confirm that the one red wire goes into the reverse circuit and works the same as those with one red and one black wire. It obviously just takes its ground from the front camera, actually makes it an even easier install.
LeesRandomVids I just plugged mine in and the backup camera seems to make it that none of the buttons work at all. Without the backup camera plugged in then it worked just fine like in this video. Any suggestions?
Elvis Best apparently all I needed was that one red wire. No black wire needed on this one apparently but like I mentioned now the buttons on the mirror stopped working... 🧐

Seriously?!!? lol You must think I'm bleeding daft or something. The blue is the mirror, not the wrapper. Its blue to dull down the high beam of a car behind when you would normally angle the mirror down, as doing this would point the camera to the sky. The plastic wrapper is clear: ua-cam.com/video/KeHXG-oXGiM/v-deo.html Yeah it's annoying they don't come with any instructions, especially as some of the names in the options are a bit vague. Cheers mate.
Basically step 1 is to strap the dash cam to the mirror. step 2 is routing the wire to the power socket, and step 3 is plugging it in. The hardest part is routing the wire.
It's for either. The camera can angle to fit either left or right hand drive. I'd guess the primary design was for left hand drive tho, that can also fit right, but it fits best on left.
What info do you need to know that wasn't included in the video? And btw, 90% of fitting a dash cam is the wiring. The other 10 being sticking it in/on your windscreen and plugging it in. No need to be angry and aggressive, if there was something else you wanted to know, you could have just asked.

I still can't understand where does the red wire connect from rear camera to???
My unit only needs Red one from rear lights the black one comes to front
Holy shit! I thought it would more simpler than this😅 that means it would take me a day for sure to install just a dash cam
Well looks like the rear camera is staying in the box.. 😅 thanks for the fabulous video.

►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.htmlm50s
I went through the menu in my first video but this update one is better as I've figured more options out since then.
LeesRandomVids you’re a star. I’ll check it out.
You're welcome and thank you, I'm glad if I can help :)
Nice and easy setup
I'm glad it was useful to you.
@@LeesRandomVids Thank you
Let me ask u something important
The red wire where did u connected this wire on reverse negative or positive or where ??
Positive. 👍
Is this camera compatible with small cars like Suzuki VXR ?
Specially the rear camera?
@@LeesRandomVids Thanks 'a million' for solving my problem.

How do you make this show fully on the screen instead of just the one side
No it's not possible, thats just where the screen is built in
just I want to know how can I install the back cam and the red wire?
It's in the next video mate, tho to be honest I did it a much more difficult and long winded way of wiring into my light cluster because I didn't want to splice into the wiring harness. The easiest way is to connect it into the wiring harness that goes to the reverse light using splice connectors.
LeesRandomVids what's the color of reverse wire sir?
Hello Fella
Installed camera to my 2003 V W CADDY rear camera is showing upside down bizarrely checked braket on rear camera only one way to fit ie not adjustable any ideas thank you
Does the camera not rotate within the bracket? Sure mine can be rotated.
The morror camera have also "blind protection" (against high beam from the back car) when you pull the knob down, like on the original mirror?
Yeah that is why it is blue, to try to reduce the dazzle as you cant angle the mirror down or the camera will point to the sky. It seems to work, but makes the mirror feel darker. I didn't like it at first, but I have gotten use to it now.
@@LeesRandomVids thank you for re: ;)
Do you know if you can remove the overlay when the reverse camera is on ?
Nah I'm afraid not. There is no option to turn it off.
The only way you could do that would be to disconnect the wire that switches the screen to show the reverse camera when you put the vehicle in reverse then switch it to show the rear camera manually every time as is doesn't show the lines that way.. but that would be a right pain to do every time.
hello brother .. how are you? I see what you're showing I don't really see and understand when you do the rear camera installation
Good luck!

What is the red wire for?
I need some help here please.. I have got a dash /reverse camera from AlliExpress and paid to installed it by some car audio guys here in Perth. However they don't know whats wrong.
when the car goes to reverse the unit is not responding to reverse mode. (not visualize it)
(Still shows and records dash camera and you can't activate settings unless you put the gear on drive again.)
When engine starts unit powers up too. GPS good. Dash camera very good! But reverse camera nothing,no signal ...Also I have noticed that when I am on reverse doesn't respond at all until I get to drive or parking gear. Then reacts again to my touch.
the red cable that is coming from the the unit for the camera is connected to the brown positive of the light( no ground (black red color) wire on this cable line )only 2 wires
I tried another line that has ground (3 wires) and connected red to positive and black red color wire to the negative of the rear light ,and still the same problem no reverse view..

The rest of it, I had no idea I'd have to pull panels off...no idea how I'm gonna do it without screwing it up 🤦♀️
The camera in the back of the mirror is movable so you should be able to point the camera more towards the front and still be able to use the mirror.
You don't have to pull the panels off if you don't care about the wire showing, you could always use sticky tape if that's easier. It's your car at the end of the day so it's up to you if that's an option.
Hope it helps.

I don't know, if it makes the noise the screen should come on too. If it's faulty contact the shop/person you bought it from.
Good video although gonna wire power to front interior light instead of cigarette socket
It's just if they want to admire themselves in the mirror behind the sun visor lol
I don't get any vibrating on the motorway on mine, none I've noticed anyway, I guess that's down to each cars mirror strength, I sometimes get a very tiny bit when the engine is idling when the engine is cold on a cold day, until its warmed up.
Hey there, Great Video Mate;
You dont know the Cheap Shoddy tricks the So-called Techies use to fleece you for a simple job as this DIY.
Good luck.
Is it similar if I install to hilux? Thx
Yeah the differences will be where you route the wires.
Mine used to be fine but now it keeps crashing. Any idea how to fix please
No idea mate. Try taking the memory card out, try resetting it, check ur wiring etc etc. See if anything works.
i want to ask u if the rear camera can record video on SD card while u driving ?
Yes, the mirror records both the front and the rear camera files.
Here is some sample video from mine: ua-cam.com/video/G9-7_AorJyI/v-deo.html
How do you fix it to the mirror when it only has 1 rubber
Installed one today. When i am reversing it stops. Only works every 5 seconds. I did not connect the red wire though. Could this be the problem? That the camera itself isnt getting enough power?
I wouldn't have thought so.. The red wire from the rear camera is to tell the unit when you put the car into reverse, so if you dont connect that wire then the unit doesnt know when you're in reverse so nothing should happen when you put your car into reverse. It gets its power from the cigarette lighter socket. Unless yours is different.
Hi, what is call in your hand tool in color orange?

Thanks!
Awesome vid how many hours did it take to finish thanks
@@LeesRandomVids 3 to 4 hours
Does your mirror tilt down every time u go over a speed bump? I had one like this and I had to constantly Re adjust the mirror again everytime I go over a speed bump
No mine doesn't move at all, it was a concern when I was installing it that it might, but no. This one is quite light and obv it depends how strong or stiff the cars mirror is. Sometimes mine does vibrate very very slightly when the car is idling on a cold engine until its warmed up.

Where is part 2? I can’t see it on your channel.
Hi. I'm not sure why you can't find it as it's the very next video in my uploads, plus the link is in the description and pinned in the comments, and it's also in the end screen, plus it should show up next as I put them in a playlist.
Anyway, here's the link if you still haven't found it. Hope it helps . 👍😃 ua-cam.com/video/PTLom7RUSJo/v-deo.html
why reverse cam at night is so dark? , totally blank...dont this product come with night vision features ?
It's not great at night, but better than nothing. Mines not totally blank, I showed example footage in this video. ua-cam.com/video/G9-7_AorJyI/v-deo.html
Hi, kindly can you tell me the padlock symbol on the display what is it for? thanks 1000. i am italian
Hi. It is to lock (or protect) a file so the Dash Cam does not record over it. If the padlock shows on a file then it is protected and cannot be recorded over or deleted, the only way to delete them is to format the memory card.
Hope it helps 😃
@@LeesRandomVids Ok dear.I understand ... very kind and thanks 1000 for the answer. Hello
You're welcome 😃
@@LeesRandomVids thankyou... ;)
Tnx
I don't know, but one guess could be that the internal battery is dead so it's resetting to factory settings every time you cut the power.
@@LeesRandomVids I think so...
Battery is problem...
Thanks a lot 👍
Hi, I have mine wired in but when I plug the reverse camera into the mirror, the system turns off and on repeatedly, dash cam works fine
Did you test it before you fitted it? If you did then I assume it didnt do that before which could imply something during installation, like a trapped or broken wire or loose connection somewhere. Double check all your wires and connections.
or it could be faulty, in which case get in contact with who u bought it from.
Hi, hard work. Thanks.
What is the purpose of the red wire and where do i connect it ?
It's for switching the screen to display the rear camera when you put it into reverse, to act as like a parking camera. You wire it into the reverse light circuit so when your reverse light comes on when you put the car in reverse, it displays the rear camera on screen.
Yes that's correct, the + (positive) side.
I show how to do it here: ua-cam.com/video/qpukX0-W4oE/v-deo.html
Hope it helps.
mine its language turn japan cuz i press some buuton, if you know pls share me
Hi, Do you know how to turn off screen for night driving?
In the options go to LCD brightness and you can set it to 10, 20 or 30 seconds or off. With off the screen just stays on all the time, selecting 10, 20 or 30 seconds the screen will turn off after 10, 20 or 30 seconds depending on what u chose.
If you want to turn the screen off manually you can press the power button, that just turns the screen off but keeps recording. If you hold down the power button for a couple of seconds however it will turn the whole thing off. That's how mine works anyway.
Hope it helps.
Here you go, this clip shows you how to turn the screen off or set the screen to automatically turn off and keep recording:

How much is this cámara
It varies from seller to seller, but they are pretty cheap. I think I paid about £30 for mine a few years ago.
why don't they make the mirror auto cams that fit onto the bracket so we can remove the old mirror if we want !
thanks for the informative video ,drive safe sir ,buckle up and enjoy life
Yeah I think that would be a great if they did.
Maybe each car manufacturer has a different mounting for its mirrors so maybe thats why they dont, would be a good thing tho if we could. And thanks mate, glad it useful to you and you too! :D

I think the cut off on the right in the beginning was the power wire in the way
Which part do you mean mate? What time in the video?
Other issues:
- the camera is powered only when the car is in motion but tells me continuously that the battery (of the camera) is empty and the special sticker flashes continuously. Even during long trips.
- I often get the message "full memory must be blocked or deleted" in this case I do not understand what I have to do. I think that if you do not delete the new file, the new files are stored on top of the oldest ones. It's right?
Good job.
Ciao Ciao

Hi, maybe this video will help you where I go through the setting ►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.html
If you have a crash the camera should save the file with the crash, the option is called 'gravity sensing' on mine, and you can set the sensitivity to low medium or high. This creates protected files that the camera will not record over ( I set my to low sensitivity or else it fills the memory card with protected files just with normal driving)
►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.html
Yes you can see the recording on the screen and play the videos back on the mirror. First press OK to stop it from recording, then press the button that looks like a flower 2 times to select the videos, then press ok
►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.html
The battery on mine is rubbish, it is always almost flat, but it gets power from the car when it is moving.
►ua-cam.com/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/v-deo.html
If the card is full of protected files then it wont record over protected files, you need to format the card to delete these. Also lower the sensitivity as mentioned above
Hope it helps!
Between the shacking and bad use of your camera .... i end up being equally lost in how to install it but with a plus of having nausea .
Still, at least you left a nice comment.

Hi, it is hard work. Thanks. I have subscribed.
Thank you :D and I hope it helps!
it is far much more easier to just connect the red reverse cameras cable to the rear tail light wiring connector (on wire numbered 2)
test it out by setting car in reverse , only reverse lights on and connect red wire to different wires in that connector, .
i personally didn't cut or solder the red wire, connector can easily 2 wires within it
Yeah, I just didn't want to cut into the car's wiring harness. Easiest way tho would be to just connect into the wire or even the connector if possible.
@@LeesRandomVids I didn't cut any wire, I just inserted the wire it can easily go in the connector, without soldering or some other method

I think it could be possible since its android and other android 4.4 devices can access it.
can some one help me? i plug it in into my car and then suddenly it just poweroff. now it wont open anymore
Hope it helps.
haha you got scammed!
Ma senza filo non c'è la batteria?
can you come fit one in my corsa please ;)

How would you get the wires to the rear cam in a 5 door hatchback?
Every car is different, you need to find a route for each car. You can either go across the top as I did or the most likely place is across the bottom under the door sills to the back.
bro you should find someone to hold your camera.
Yeah I know, but I need way more views and subs before I can hire a camera assistant tho lol 😜
What do you use to open the video files on the computer ?
To play them back? I just double clicked them like any other video file and my default media player (windows media player) played them.
Or do you mean how do I get them onto my computer? I took the memory card out and put that in the computer and transferred the files.
Hope it helps :)
Oh hey this is the exact same one I have HAHA
Nice! :D
Scruffy work dash cost more than the car 😂
Whatever makes you feel better about yourself, mate. lol
why you do this video at night time
It was winter time, December. Here in England in December it goes dark at 4pm . :(
I'm just guessing here so don't hold me on it, but there is one way to find out, try test fitting it."
So I think yes you are correct, but I don't know for sure. Would be great if you post if it worked after you've fitted it to know 100% for others with the same question. Cheers mate.
Thank you very much for your detailed answer. I'll try it out and post some feedback here as well. Cheers bro.
You're welcome mate and thank you too.
Thank you for the detailed videos mate. BTW the housing of my rearview camera looks as the same as your bulbhousing in the backuplight (I mean the cube shaped object, that has 4 "holes" at each corner. It has exactly the same shape and size), lol
Ah yes I saw that type too when I was buying mine.
That is way more trouble then I want to get into I will let the professionals do it!

Smh, I would rather do it myself and spend the $200 on something else. I hooked mine up in less than 30 minutes!! Try it!!

just hook one up an hour agao and it so cool when u put your car in reverse and u can do the split screen awesome so far
Elvis Best I’m waiting for my extension cord for the backup cam. Did you hook it up to the reverse light or to the battery? Mine has just one red wire for power too?
@@fringestream990 mine has 2 wires one red one black so i hook the red to the reverse n the black to the revirse ground

The blue is the mirror, not the wrapper. Its blue to dull down the high beam of a car behind when you would normally angle the mirror down, as doing this would point the camera to the sky.

Sorry Doris, I'm a Yorkshireman lol
His English is perfect. I'm not even from his region I'm in Northern Ireland. Great video mate. Is the cam still going?
Why don't show step by step 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Basically step 1 is to strap the dash cam to the mirror. step 2 is routing the wire to the power socket, and step 3 is plugging it in. The hardest part is routing the wire.
Beggars can't be choosers?
Dun it's for left hand drive hahahha
It's for either. The camera can angle to fit either left or right hand drive. I'd guess the primary design was for left hand drive tho, that can also fit right, but it fits best on left.
Complete waste of time. Watching someone feed a wire through a car. Had no useful info at all.
What info do you need to know that wasn't included in the video?
And btw, 90% of fitting a dash cam is the wiring. The other 10 being sticking it in/on your windscreen and plugging it in.
No need to be angry and aggressive, if there was something else you wanted to know, you could have just asked.
Can you maybe have internal
Power source and no wire showing? Lol 222
