How to model OFF-ROAD Tires In Blender

- This is a follow up to my 3d modeling wheels in blender tutorial. One of you asked me how I'd approach off road wheels. Here is the relatively non-destructive workflow that I use frequently. Keep in mind that different workflows work well for different things, so if you need a single hull mesh this probably isn't the approach I'd take. But I like this method because it leaves making big look dev changes on the table pretty late in the process.

I don't understand with these issue at 7:28 - what two ilands, why you need to put it on each other, compleatly not clear.
So we want to perfectly overlap the islands for each side so the bump map can show in the same exact area on each side of the wheel
