Normal is fairly easy. I just played it on the tv with keyboard and mouse after years of not playing halo and you get the hang of it quick. It's pretty easy to jump around, melee grunts and shoot the others with grenades or those throwable bombs. Only thing I noticed though is that ammo runs out quick esp on energy weapons. And you gotta be specific on which weapons to use per enemy type
@@Bellaexe5091 “main assault rifle” You could also punch yourself in the balls. Probably about as painful as trying to play through the campaign with that thing.
It's nice to see the hunters be actual threats again. Back in Halo CE when the hunters roll in it's brown trousers time (unless you have a magnum, in which case it's a single bullet).
Hunters have never been threats until this game. First time I saw them in this game I was in a ghost and thought I was just gonna plow through them….and then they went automatic on me.
no, they made them bullet sponges with a gun that is too powerful and fires too often. Personally I think Reach hunters were the best hunters from a "fun to fight while still being challenging" perspective...so long as you had to fight them with no gauss or tank. These are not fun to fight. The blue ones are quite fun though and are a nice change of pace.
It's not enough to make them difficult and overpowered. They still need to be reasonable to fight. It was boring to watch him fight these two I can't imagine actually playing it.
Btw, those hunters are guarding a skull. The best way I have found to deal with them is to use the S7 and hit their exposed knees and insides of their arms from the top of the canyon walls. You can also use shock weapons and then you don't have to worry about their armor, however, this takes much longer because the S7 has a much higher damage output.
Indeed. So great to see Halo come back on top despite the massive criticism and doubts ppl had. and ofc in this case it was good that ppl showed heavy criticism after Halo 5 and after E3 2020 demo. Halo Infinite seems to have turned out best Halo since Reach thanks to that

I fought them today on heroic difficulty and they're absolutely a pain! Wasn't carrying any power weapons just a Mangler and a Stalker Rifle, They destroy tanks like nothing after like 30 minutes of trying i was able to beat them and if felt like I went through an actual war.
I’ve often found the AI gets a little goofy if you’re far enough back and most of the time when fighting a hunter or more accurately a pair of hunters there’s usually some cheese spot up too you can stay in and they won’t really shoot at you
unless the AI gets stuck in super long range mode where they know precisely where you are at all times and are really good at aiming at you. Unfortunately many enemies get stuck in this AI mode instead of the normal mid-range AI.
I know that there are VERY strong elites as well, but im glad Hunters finally get the difficulty they deserve as they should be a real challenge. Goliath or bosses from Halo Wars like Colony/Pavium/Voridus when, more importantly YapYap.
For whatever random reason, this gave me Wild-E Coyote vibes. Like when he tries to kill Roadrunner. Just endless creative attempts. PS: THIS GAME IS GORGEOUS 😂
They're pretty much the same on heroic too. I recommend using the needler and aiming at their knees. Towards the end of the campaign there's two red hunters that have plenty of needle ammo in their room.
Kinda wished they had a bit more of the Banished chunkiness to their design like they had in Halo Wars 2, but holy hell it looks like it would be near impossible to deal with them up close on legendary. Too bad they probably didn't include the "shoot them with the pistol in the wormy bits" to balance out that difficulty.
I love the sound of them in this game, like their actual audio files. They sound so dangerous, and they reflect that in gameplay on legendary. That guttural growl really pounds home how absolutely terrifying they would have been to face on the battlefield.
@@dynestis2875 Actually gold Hunter's used the fuel rod cannon which was the first since Halo CE though that's about the only difference if I remember correctly
I was thinking “why isn’t he just getting behind them” but then I saw how accurate they were when you were far away, telling me their A.I. has been hella improved
It's nearly impossible to get behind them now. They keep their distance and keep you at bay with the rapid fire bs. I'm all for tough hunters, but aside from the normal blue ones these feel impossible to fight on foot so far
the A.I. has that bullshit flaw of modern A.I. where it knows where you are at all times and sucks at pretending it doesn't. Combine that with the dumb idea of "lets make hunters turn faster and shoot faster" and you get the hardest enemies in the game. No really, why the final boss wasn't just 4 red hunters is beyond me as that would be more difficult than any other boss fight.
Completing the campaign on heroic taught me a few tricks on killing hunters. The skewer to the head is really good. Shooting a rocket launcher just past their feet (when you're in front) damages their back. A needler super-combine actually does good damage without having to aim at their back. And when I have a sword or mangler, I get really close, and dash behind them when they try to melee me and backsmack them a couple times.
I only recently came to this conclusion while replaying CE. I think that just for the sake of expanding the world building around hunters and to add more depth to them would be to integrate classes further into their design. I think orange hunters sounds like something that should exist. Because it is so easy to find their weak points. Orange armour to blend their orange weak points should add at least a little bit of extra difficulty to fighting them. Especially if their armour is a bit differently shaped so finding that flap underneath their back plate would be much more of a challenge. This could definitely benefit the players by having to approach them differently. Compared to their other class counterparts. It would also be interesting to see the AI protect each other’s blind spots and/or back. Considering they should already understand their strengths and weaknesses.
Seems like at the very least we will have 2 types of hunters since the gameplay reveal showed us normal hunters with blue armor and green plasma. Just a guess but I’m assuming normal hunters will play out like a normal hunter encounter meanwhile these proper Banished Hunters look as aggressive as Halo 5s hunters
Just finished the campaign on Legendary. Mobility and shield wall is what saved me, which was turning invisible first with 2 thrusters, grappling hook to a safe distance, then throw down a shield wall (has to be fully upgraded). There’s always a power weapon nearby when you encounter them and shooting through the shield wall will do extra damage
I’ve beaten the game on legendary now, and I found that using a needler out of all the different weapons you could possibly use is actually fairly effective. But whenever I didn’t have a needle on hand I made do with whatever and just targeted their kneecaps which are almost always visible and vulnerable.
@@Kuraname I managed to get behind them once... in my whole playthrough. after they spotted me, I hid and did not show myself until I was behind them. Always thought Hunters were the coolest enemies in Halo by far. Those guns, their shields and battle stance, they just look totally badass and had the firepower to back it up, always wanted to see more of them. Aren't they immune to the Flood too?
Well, each individual worm can be infected which makes infecting the whole Hunter difficult since they essentially throw out any individual worm that's been infected to keep the rest of the "herd" clean. So in theory it's possible, but it would just take awhile, and even after the Hunter is dead, the worms would just be used as biomass instead of any kind of combat form or anything of the like.
They are not immune to flood so much as if infected the flood doesn't have the mental link the worms have so they just infect the individual worms and get no effective body to control. Hunters are just food to the flood, in other words.
That's because they don't fit where the story is going RN. Many UA-camrs have pretty much conformed no flood. And guess what.. This game is still gonna kick ass
I had my suspicions as well when I heard China was overseeing the game as well I thought to myself “they won’t allow that” even if we wanted it. I played on Normal and trust me, these red ones are just as tough, i couldn’t even beat them with a ghost which kinda an OP vehicle against infantry in this game.

Yh Ghost basically destroy everything in the game. So OP, and not a problem to deal woth now we have grapplehook to instantly conmandeer.
A few of those skewer shots would've wiped out a Phantom but you emptied your entire clip and nothing. They were definitely a problem on Legendary but not impossible. I mainly used the Threat Sensor (full upgrade) to get their health and see where they are at all times and went around them to get at their weak spots. Was still hard but completely doable.

And that’s not even getting into the possibility of infinite porting over all of Colony’s personal forces, like Goliaths.

Hunters _never_ had any manner of spotlight before colony, despite objectively being the most unique and versatile species in the galaxy besides the flood. They had the least amount of unit variety until Colony diversified them, and were always either the hulking juggernauts that only seem to get stronger from game to game, or happen to man the next big covenant siege engine we have to dismantle. I want a game or DLC in the main series where Hunters take center stage, maybe even play as one.
Somehow regular hunters are more of a challenge than scarabs
The hunter captain alone would be unstoppable considering his healing capabilities

The trick is to utilize everything around you. Throw canisters, grapple and flank, use more grenades, head shots only. All anyone really needs is practice. You got this
Normal is fairly easy. The single bullet magnum hunter kill was so disapointing. Especially when the old ones exposed their back a lot!
These hunters are my absolute favorite of all games. They gave them the difficulty they deserve. Big terrorizing beasts
no, they made them bullet sponges with a gun that is too powerful and fires too often.

2 legendary hunters on foot seems like a proper dark souls boss fight
Completing the campaign on heroic taught me a few tricks on killing hunters. The skewer to the head is really good. Shooting a rocket launcher just past their feet (when you're in front) damages their back. A needler super-combine actually does good damage without having to aim at their back. And when I have a sword or mangler, I get really close, and dash behind them when they try to melee me and backsmack them a couple times.
Hunters are a little too difficult in Halo Infinite, honestly. Having them turn around once in a while would make the game more playable.
yeah tracking is crazy
I really love dialogues of those enemies so much. Felt funny to me.
Considering they should already understand their strengths and weaknesses.
what about using kinetic weapons on the juicy spots? Are there different ranks or types of hunters that have certain buffs/ nerfs?
Seems like at the very least we will have 2 types of hunters since the gameplay reveal showed us normal hunters with blue armor and green plasma. Always thought Hunters were the coolest enemies in Halo by far. Those guns, their shields and battle stance, they just look totally badass and had the firepower to back it up, always wanted to see more of them. Aren't they immune to the Flood too?
yea since hunters are basically worms
Imagine fighting Goliath or hunter captain
Well, each individual worm can be infected which makes infecting the whole Hunter difficult since they essentially throw out any individual worm that's been infected to keep the rest of the "herd" clean. So in theory it's possible, but it would just take awhile, and even after the Hunter is dead, the worms would just be used as biomass instead of any kind of combat form or anything of the like.
They are not immune to flood so much as if infected the flood doesn't have the mental link the worms have so they just infect the individual worms and get no effective body to control. Hunters are just food to the flood, in other words.
I’m getting some type of weird feeling that the flood not n the game
That's because they don't fit where the story is going RN. Many UA-camrs have pretty much conformed no flood. And guess what.. This game is still gonna kick ass
