I was confused by the narrative. The reading was interesting and so was the story. But he said he wasnt a necron. So he must be a c'tan? But why would a plasma blast kill it?
Also I really thought he was a necron lord. Perhaps I just missed the clues.
My only disapointment is that the "necron" and the assassin didnt fight.
@@NoInfoAvail He was a C'tan, Me'phetran, the Deciever. This was before the Space Egyptian robot rewrite Matt Ward did in 2011.

So they locked it into a stasis field.... then what? Now they could study it forever, right?

I was thinking about this story again, and I feel like the stasis field thing is a bit... overpowered. If these guys basically “McGuyvered“ a freakin stasis field from wires and other junk laying around, why the hell wouldn’t this be a common defensive tactic everywhere? Next time there’s an Orc invasion, just set up a thousand stasis devices pointing towards them. Then you have all the time in the world to ship them into space, and eject them out an airlock just as you deactivate the field. It would be hilarious, seeing them all flailing about moments before they realize they're in space. 😅
Even better, instead of Exterminatus, just stasis lock an entire planet until they figure out a way to defeat them 🙄.
@@maxstr the "junk lying around" a Mechanicus facility probably includes many irreplaceable artifacts not recognized by most of them.
