Thank you for bringing this to my attention I absolutely love emerge and honestly with adventure, rekindling, and eternalise it makes me so happy how flexible it feels.
Match 1 Game 1 you punted by playing the second Phoenix. You should have just attacked for four, on their upkeep emerge out the Deep-Fiend, tap their Lieutenant and all lands except Nykthos and practically guarantee lethal.
Sometimes I feel people forget you can just tap lands to prevent them from playing anything or forcing them to play sub optimal cards i think its the interface honestly seems easy to mess up using something that looks like its from windows 98
Uro is like the only reason that this deck doesn't see play. The best sideboard answers for Uro also hurt the phoenix a lot and blue and red doesn't have good uro answers. An early mystival dispute is probably the best way to try to fight though it.
Love the pioneer content! Seems like your the only one putting new pioneer content out there. Thank you! If you get a chance, check this combo deck out and I hope you like it! www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3455762#paper
The deep fiend having flash allows you to tap opp's lands during their upkeep, right?
yes
Yes. And not seeing it abused in that way truly hurts me.

YEESSS this deck hasn't gotten any attention lately, I'm happy to see someone playing it in modern times
Well pioneering times
This one was so cool. Interesting to see how it goes in current pioneer meta.
Hey man, you play Magic the way it should be played; for fun! Thanks for the content, and keep up the good work!
I love your commentary. It's so intriguiging. 'Attacking is all about the message' ahahah

Elder Deep Fiend getting ignored hard.
Awsome deck! I have to play that one too
Yes! Love me some pioneer content!
Corbin thanks for the videos
Thank you for watching!
@@corbinhosler3562 do you stream on twitch?
First game instead of jamming second Phoenix, you could upkeep EDF to tap basri and 3 lands to have guaranteed lethal next turn

Love your content! Tha la for keeping up with pioneer gameplay. Ever think you'll run a sweet GE cats coco deck in the near future?

Love the content but when you neglect the deep fiend to this degree it hurts my soul
Stitchwing didn't do anything at all, I think that'd be worth tossing for more spells. I might try sea-dasher octopus and see how that goes.
You could also play the other devoid blue eldrazi the hippogriff
Looked fun until the reality of bullshit ramp occurred.
Rekindling Phoenix was probably the reason vraska's contempt was printed. The bird needs not see play ever again.
Hard disagree, Phoenix is the single best card ever printed
@@alexanderglasgo8163 I agree awesome card especially cause I love emerge
I actually loved the Phoenix-Contempt metagame, if I recall it correctly.
