We are teaming up with the German artist Jule Borths for the opening of our Brompton Junction Berlin in Spring 2024.

Having worked on several projects with Jule before, she has hand-painted two bikes for us in her very own style to celebrate the opening of the Berlin Junction in Spring 2024. It’s the first Junction in Germany's capital; a city full of creativity, music and all kinds of subcultures. That’s why it feels pertinent to celebrate our new Brompton store by collaborating with an unbelievable creative and talented and local German artist like Jule.
“Brompton and I have been working together on different projects. Brompton changed the way I travel; I can take my bike on trains, and I don't have to deal with public transportation. Brompton have trusted my creative decisions which feels great and makes me feel welcomed by the cycling community. They’re a whole bunch of great people that make me feel I'm part of something - a family.”
Her design is inspired by the abstract paintings of Hilma af Klint and her ideas flow in a very abstract way. Here she talks more about the creative route that led her to the design of the bikes and the resulting hand painted P Lines; there are two in existence and you can win one of them by entering the competition below. This makes me wanna paint my own. I wonder why Brompton doesn’t encourage that. Imagine buying a bike online, receiving a primed frame set with a return label for when you’ve finished your paint job, then Brompton clear coats, puts their label on, and assembles your bike, and sends it back to you or your local dealer. Brompton, if you’re reading this; I’d pay an extra $200 for that.
