When I bought my similar, Flame Painted, SuperlightM6LXBrompton in 2019, I wasn't allowed to unpack it like here, but got a finished bike in the Shop! But as a near first I gave my bike an Auto-polish all over, and found that the one, clear tape "Protection" 🤣from the Factory had nearly been worn through to the paint after a few folds, so I immediately ordered a set Protection Plates from China, for all the known "week spots" on a Brompton! I like my bike to look as new, even today, and it does! I will advise to do it, if with a liking for a nice bike! Finn. Denmark
I have also changed most loose parts to titanium, besides my original fork and back-frame, so today it weighs below 9 kilo, as an Original - gear version T-line, also with mudguards. Finn. Denmark

Brompton bike can last for many years sir if you just look after it. What I do with my brompton is I sprayed the internal of the frame with anti rust and also the hinges. Put a frame protector and make sure you wipe it off with dry cloth after riding in the rain. Enjoy your brompton. BTW you can use that bike for shopping e.g food and small stuff. 😊
lol, to each his own if I’m paying 1000 or more for a bike, it sure isn’t going be a foldable one. I love foldable bikes, but how much is a 1-12 Brompton or 1-11 for that matter. A 3 speed is over what 1-2 thousand. If I lived in very congested city, I would think of a brompton.
