Thank you Janie, sorry for delay, and trying to keep up with messages but have to keep taking 15 mins out here and there to be able to - not complaining, it's just wonderful to know so many people care and are making a difference :) Best wishes, Joel
Just beautiful Joel. What a fantastic array of fauna and flora. I just loved watching. I'm sure the lack of sheep makes such a difference. A beautiful film thank you.
Absolutely unbelievable and breathe taking scenery. And the array of flora and wildlife was fantastic and the dawn chorus was brilliant keep them coming Joel 👍.
Thank you David, sorry for the delay but just back from France again, went to tend the garden but ended up with a few surprises :/ Not as bad as it sounds! So glad that you're enjoying these, am in the process of editing one right now and I am sure you'll be impressed by the next place I visit when it's uploaded :) Best wishes, as always - Joel
You're so very welcome, I am so glad you enjoyed this - another video real soon, an I am sure you will be just as impressed :) Best wishes, and thank you for the support- Joel
Thank you Rebecca, so sorry for the delay but it's difficult keeping up at the moment. But thank you, I really appreciate the encouragement and support, I know they're not the "usual" videos but I so wanted to share what was out there and positive. Can't wait to share the whole city/town that thinks about nature first in the next video, or two (!) - I am attempting editing right now. Best wishes - Joel
Every second of this was stunning. Thanks for having us tag along. Living where there's not a hill in sight, I'd have to prepare for that outing. Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you Wende, it's always a pleasure to share these with you, I'm in the middle of editing the next part of the journey now, can't wait to share about the town/city that has been thinking of nature first for a pretty long time, in comparison to most and boy have they made a collective difference :) Sorry for the delays in responding again though, it's difficult keeping up and I don't want people thinking I'm ignoring them! Hope you're well - best wishes, Joel

So lovely to read this Helen, I wanted to share France with everyone so badly, I wasn't even sure what I would see most of the time but watching these back is like being there all over again, just wish it'd been more than one day :) Am editing the next video now for upload shortly, even more wonderful memories to share - thanks for all your support, Joel
It really was a wonderful experience, I really didn't want to leave as was only able to spend a whole day there but am so glad I took the opportunity whilst down that way. Incredible, I hope you get to experience it one day :) Best wishes, Joel
Thank you for sharing something so so beautiful. What an incredibly peaceful and moving place, I feel enriched after watching this. This is like a piece of heaven on earth. All that incredible wildlife and fauna enjoying such a truly precious habitat. seeing such beauty is truly mesmerising. It definitely leaves footprints on your heart. I hope I dream of this tonight x

@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton That sounds delightful, I look forward to seeing that. That beautiful place will keep calling until you return, in the mean time its etched into your heart and soul x
I love a dawn chorus, though if I hear one the pleasure is usually tempered by exhaustion, because I rarely get up on purpose at that time. If I'm awake at that hour it's usually due to having suffered a sleepless night! Nevertheless, I find listening to the dawn chorus always banishes a bad mood, it's a treat of nature that your mind can't ignore.
Just wonderful to see Joel! So many memories came rushing back from my times in the mountains pre 2009.Couldn't manage those dodgy tracks nowadays so thanks for doing it for me😂🙏
Thank you Lyn! It truly was spectacular, just wish I'd had more than one day, but couldn't resist the detour when so close, it doesn't disappoint! Editing the next episode right now and can't wait to share that with you. Keep in touch! x
Wow, the best Butterfly adventure, amazing scenery. What you were saying about the mountain roads was reminiscent of our drive across the Rockies, and the colour of the lake water was very much like Lake Louise, at least on your walk you didn’t have to be mindful of bears he he. Chuffs are being bred in Kent to be rereleased at some point which is quite exciting. Ty for sharing an amazing holiday. Regards
We've just watched your video on your day out in the Pyrenees on the big sceen, wonderful It brought back so many wonderful memories of our walking holidays in the alps ( Switzerland, Austria Italy and France ). In fact it's inspired me to make a short video of my Small Scree Garden as the season progresses and intercut it with a few high mountain meodows with all their wonderful flowers we've had the privilege to experience, best wishes David & Audrey.
Hi Joel, it is all Beautiful. The Little plant, you talked About at 31.54u With the blue/purple flower seams to be Pinguicula Vulgaris, you see them also at 11.40u These are Carnivorous plants. The leaves are a little yellow. Thanks for the video.
Wow, thank you Linda. That's so very helpful and I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know. So glad that you enjoyed it, it's something I'll never forget. Thank you again, best wishes - Joel
Absolutely wonderful, Joel! This is just what I needed today! Thank you for brightening up my gloomy, icy winter day. I would love to visit the Pyrenees one day. I’ve always been a huge cycling fan (and a former cyclist), and always loved watching the Tour de France, especially when they were in the Pyrenees, but they never slowed down to notice the wildlife and nature. Absolutely lovely! Best wishes- John
Having, in my younger days, walked round much of the Pyrènees I love this video, just angry that, nowadays, my body will not follow my imagination. Thanks
Hi William, thank you. So glad that this video enabled you to be there again, and at least you have those memories :) Hope you're doing well - best wishes, Joel
Wow, breath taking footage, we watched in awe! My husband wondered if the blue flowers were common milkwort, as we may have seen something similar on the outer Hebrdes. He liked the feature stones that you put on offer and wondered whether a small stick of dynamite in your backpack might help 😉
Gorgeous surroundings🥰 Love all the wild flowers, natural stone and the ponds and streams. So tranquil and serene🥰 Friday 3 march we will receiving the keys of our new home. I will be soon after that digging my first pond. How can I determine how many and what types of plants I need from your webshop? And if I place an order, how long does shipping to The Netherlands take? I will try to buy fleece and lining local to me, a garden centre had fleece available. Don't know about their stock now. And we have a garden centre in our new village, where they have pond supplies to. So ordering plants will be the only thing I want to do through the Wild Your Garden shop.
Great video Joel, I skied for about 15 years in pyrenees. Lovely to see the amazing flora and fauna that appear in the summer time. Now I want to visit in the summer just to enjoy the nature
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely area and all the wildlife! A wonderful way to end my day. I moved to Mexico last year and it is so different from Oregon and California where I have lived before. I just love the diversity on our planet. Love your channel!
Thank you, I really do appreciate your kind words and encouragement, they make a difference to me :) More videos to come, I'm editing the next one right now and there's more memories of a wonderful town/city that puts nature first :) Can't wait to share it. Hey Joel! Wow! I always wanted to walk across the Pyrenees in my youth so this was a joy to see, it really didn't disappoint. So much life in what seems at first to be an almost barren place. Great to see butterflies still thriving there and hopefully they'll journey back here when we give them the habitats back that they need. Great video and I'm sure there's an amphibian expert out here to identify your friend. Best wishes.
Hi Joel What a fab video. you are so lucky to go to such beautiful places. We are off to Austria this year(Sound of Music country). Looking forward to that. Our first frogspawn had arrived yesterday morning. I started a wildflower bank at our local tennis club last year. It was a bit late in the season so only got a few things in so this year I'm trying to get more done using seed I have saved from our garden. Fingers crossed it grows. I'll send photos in the summer if it does.
Please do! Austria is on my list of "wants" - I hope you have a wonderful time, send some photos of your visit too :) Great re the frog spawn, mine was around 4 days ago and has increased each night! Great re the recycling of the seed and well done on the wildflower bank - please do send photos. Best wishes, Joel
Another wonderful video Joel! One thing I find when driving in the Pyrenees is tat a journey that looks like 40 miles on the map turns out to be 100 miles on the road, added to that, the constant stopping for a look at the fantastic scenery adds a lot to your time, funny thing is, when you look at your photos you find you have taken a photo of the same mountain scene from different altitudes up the road, glad you found the Clouded Appolo and the Black Veined White. Take care! Chris B.
Wow wow wow 😯 what a scenery Is it too late to plant cotton plant and what’s best position? Absolutely loved watching this video Joel Keep up the good work 🤞🏻😊
Am really enjoying this series Joel. Thanks for sharing. I have a sneaky suspicion you have considered (or are considering) a more permanent move to France. Despite Macron and migrant situation etc France seems to have kept a lot of its natural environment. In general I have always liked the French 'rougher around the edge' gardens.
I'm really glad about that :) Your suspicions are correct, although it was a plan for later years, to share the property with nature lovers etc in the meantime. Time has just meant that works have been delayed there too. Nowhere is perfect, but everywhere I've driven has been beautiful, or given over a little more to nature. Lots more to come, can't wait to share about the town that has given nature absolute priority :) Best wishes, Joel
Saint Lary and La Mongie are not too far from where I live (~hour). Great part of the world to visit or live. Just don't expect too much of a nightlife!
Hi there Neil, sorry for the delay, just trying to catch up with everyone, but I'm so glad you enjoyed this, more to come in the next few days. It was shot in early June last year, I'd recommend the trip, every part of the journey was incredible. Best wishes, Joel

Hi Edwin, thank you so much, I really appreciate the support and encouragement, it does make a difference to me :) I have "met" so many wonderful people through or via this channel and am so glad that it is making a difference. It's a great camera, but it's the iphone 13 Pro rather than a specific camera.
