Awesome tutorial, I have used 12 different Sunsets I've been using from Vexels & added them to a template like you've shown, So All I have to do is throw in the Silhouettes or central image & change the text areas. Awesome way to upscale lots of designs. | Wicked Video | Valuable content | Keep up the amazing work | Much love, peace & respect | STay Safe Ya'll
Hey, Juna. Awesome tutorial, as always. Do you know if there's a way to do knockouts for outline designs? I think there's not. I mean, it'll knock out, but in the non-filled areas you have the sunset showing and that looks janky and I can't think of a way around it. Just need to make sure to select solid silhouettes, I guess. 🙂
I draw the circle first then i cut it by sellection tool then i color each strip then i add a svg and click on the svg layer icon it maks sellection on the svg then sellect inverse then press delete Sorry for my bad English
Juna, I've been following your videos for a few months now and they have been very helpful. I am very new to POD and designing / art in general so I really appreciate all the help. That's it. I just wanted to say "thank you". Also, is affinity designer similar to inkscape?
I wonder if there is a shadow effect in the red layer? Light from the left, shadows on the edge of the circle and the head of the surfer? Thanks for the Video, I was always struggling with putting things inside a circle. You make designing look so easy 😄👍🏻
This was super cool, Thanks Juna! I just purchased Affinity Designer not too long ago and am looking forward to going back and watching your tutorials. Can I take the sunsets I have from All Sunsets and customize the color and stuff in AD?
Hello Juna! Can you tell me how do you make your fontlist that big? In my Affinity Designer i can only see a view lines of fonts, so i have to scroll a lot to find the right font
You can draw your own... If you have Merch Informer you can color them black.... Vexels and Creative Fabrica probably have some.... but I don't know anywhere to get some for free.
how do i turn the background black? i cant find a fill layer option anywhere. I mean, how do I start the design with a black background? Please and thanks
Colors could help... if you want a texture on it you would add the texture above everything and use the layer effects again... see this video here... ua-cam.com/video/djhF0ezUM6U/v-deo.html
Kind of .... but you will have to knock out the surfer in another app because there is no masking in Canva. At least I don't know how you would do it .
@@DetourShirts Hi, I did it using a fishing design. The transparent background tool is canva is not good for this though. I used your Apple mac method. If you use a silhouette vector from canva it automatically becomes masked - mine was touching the background though so that might have helped.
Thanks for this tutorial, Juna! Actually my question is not related to it. Which fonts would you propose for a letter mask so that that mask (ex.: stars or flowers or whatever) is well visible on the letters? Thanks in advance :)
I would look for thick fonts like... nexa or cooper..... Just look for wide thick fonts... slab serif fonts are good too...www.google.com/search?q=thick+bold+fonts&sxsrf=ALeKk006Q3XvoC5Kk2vO7jDqBronNCsN8Q:1620746285090&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjtyt-09sHwAhVFV80KHbBUAkcQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=2103&bih=1166
Juna, thanks so much for this video. Where did you get the silhouette? I know you can draw them, you most certainly have the skills, so I'm wondering if you drew that or got it from somewhere else?
So the sunset and the silhouette are in a group. The sunset is on the bottom and the silhouette is on the top. If they are grouped together you can erase the the silhouette image from the sunset below.
@@DetourShirts for some reason, when I place the text box on the page, it will type but there isn't any text. I've tried different colours and nothing.
I didn't have the eraser effect on. I had to create a new layer, take it out of the group and then added the text layer to that new layer. I hope this works.

No worries! It's the erase effect on the layers.. make sure the silhouette is above the sunset and choose the layer effect of erase.

You are so welcome! I don't know if Affinity Designer is similar to inkscape because I never used inkscape but it is similar to Adobe Illustrator.
Super helpful... How would you do the background with a water color effect?
Good question! I would either use water color brushes or mask a water color background in the vintage sunset

Please sir tell me how to describe and tag those type of designs. Thanks 🙏
It really depends on your design..... vintage sunset would be a tag for sure.... if it's about summer then use summer... stuff like that

Is there a tool to separate all lines with same distance?
Yes.
1. Select all of the rectangle layers. 2. Got to the menu: Layer >> Alignment >> Space vertically
That should do it.
Yes... Thanks Nino

Don’t understand how to get image into sunset
So the sunset and the silhouette are in a group. The sunset is on the bottom and the silhouette is on the top. If they are grouped together you can erase the the silhouette image from the sunset below.
Anyone else have issues with adding the text?
