Don't be leaving comments like this while you're on a shitter with the lights off while you watch on an Android device with battery saver mode on. Do better!
Haha great visual. I get what you are saying, but I actually had my brightness turned all the way up on my laptop during the daytime. This is more a commentary on the video editor than the interior designers.@@lllill
This seems out of the blue for me? Nowhere did I think it was dark on any shot. Perhaps you can check your settings? I just don't want editors to overcompensate in the next videos
Honestly, it's the most beautiful McGee Home I've ever seen. Everything is so beautiful and elegant. The dining room, the kitchen, the pantry ... everything is GORGEOUS. Painting the power outlets to match the marble is just next level.
I agree. None of the decorating channels show that. I spent an entire day calculating lumens and such for my rooms. I installed dramatic fire owls and over head lighting. The place looks amazing and wouldn’t get covered by these kinds of channels.
Love the details that went into each space- the island counter, the reeded plaster detail in the hallway, the brass shoes on the railing, and that range and alcove are to die for. I feel the space probably looks better in real life than on video as the light is harder to capture in the dark rooms to show the details. Houston has tons of sun and bright light so I bet those rooms look amazing. Excited to see more!
The setee-covered in print fabric is very contrasting to the room. The dark walls are beautiful, especially when you turn the lights on in the room will make the room pop.
This is my favorite yet of all the designs i've seen from her. These spaces show real design ability. I feel like in the past a lot of her rooms were very showroom lacked character and personality. But this house really. Is comfortable and full of personality
This might be your BEST wsork yet! You balanced, moody, timeless and everything the client asked for perfectly. I cant get over the pain colors and the french inspirations. Truley masterful.
I love what you have done here. Love the dark moody colour palette and the wood features throughout bring warmth and depth. What a beautiful home. Would love to see it at night with muted light. Very atmospheric but still feels like a home that you could relax in.
Loving that arch between the kitchen and living room!!! The sofa in the entry….dead. All so beautiful well done!!! You mastered the modern traditional design mix for sure!
The attention to detail really shows. I sweated the details on my house. Had multiple reviews with other people and refined the plans. Found a great architect after I finished the concept but gave him the freedom to improve it. And boy did he make it better. He had a lot of fun working with me. We only disagreed on one item and I gave in on it. It was an authentic Tuscan feature that the builders would have had problems in building.
A lot of people complaining about how dark it is but she’s explained before in previous videos that it’s part of the new interior design movement towards moodier/darker spaces and photography
Absolutely stunning! Some of the most clever juxtapositioning of design elements and decor that I have ever seen. Congrats to Shea (and the home owners!) :)
To say your good, is an understatement Shea ❤ Kudos to Erin and her team as well! Entry speaks volumes! Love the adjacent rooms in that shade of green 👌. Beautiful flow! Barrel tunnel awesome! ⭐️ Bookmatching seams, good and interesting to know. I like the higher counters, compliments the scale, ceiling to floor, of this home. Niches, fabulous! This home is Gorgeous 🙌 ❤ Very Impressive!
You've outdone yourself Shea! What a stunning house. Just blew my mind... Thanks a lot for sharing and mentioning all the fine detail which we might have missed on the video otherwise. I feel like you could make another 4 videos about this house with all the fine detail of the design explained...
That entryway's floor is gorgeous. I love it. So many dark rooms are "in" lately, but I still love the look of a bright room over the dark rooms. That kitchen looks wonderful. I used to not really like all your usage of brass, but it has grown on me a lot over the years. It looks beautiful. The natural light in the dining area is really great. I ADORE the wooded ceiling in the one bright living room. Mmmm Mmm!
omg this has been the ultimate treat, the most exquisite home McGee have done. That dining room that sideboard 10/10 what can i say the whole house is outstanding 👏❤🔥♥
Absolutely stunning, the contrast between traditional/modern and vintage is on point. J'adore the playful curves of some of the furniture pieces, especially the custom dining room storage/sideboard from a french maker, the details on this would be amazing and much appreciated as I live in France and love to support such craftsmanship. I also love the darker rooms and the lighting pieces are all exquisite!
Love this! I've been looking for inspiration for dark themed homes for my own home. I absolutely love your work but so far apart from a gorgeous dark pantry and a home office I believe, I couldn't find any homes you've designed in this color scheme - so this was perfectly timed! Thank you for sharing your work and knowledge!
The risers in the same stained wood as the stairs look beautiful. What should one think about when choosing between white/painted risers that contrast with stairs vs. matching them?
Hi I’m from Singapore, tiny land scare island and sometimes I wish that as residents here, we have the resource to build such BIG and gorgeous homes. Anyway just want to say Kudos to the Studio Mcgee team. I really am seeing the evolving POV of the designers, the transition to more luxe, high end interior designs. Great content.
Leaning towards a 'genuine' European home in Europe. Fron the entry tile to the settee..... Could be my favourite McGee and Co / Studio McGee project to date. Liking the direction they are going in here. Well done to the whole team involved, builder etc.
The devil works hard but Erin Stetzer works harder! I'm praying that I can work with her in my future home design she really does bring your ideas to life her company is beyond amazing!
This an amazing home for a new build. I designed and built my Tuscan home. I used salvage chandeliers and doors, handmade Terra Cotta floor tiles, locally made terra cotta roof tiles, patina’d copper gutters, etc. People think that the house is old.
Cons: Entry way sofa, all of the open shelving, and glass front kitchen cabinets. Pros: Front doors, all of the artwork, wood floors, kitchen countertops and backsplash.
Such an amazing home design. The finishes are beautiful. Would have liked to be able to see more in the dark rooms but the lighting is poor when your filming.
Absolutely beautiful design and colours that’s so moody and cozy love it Probably because it reminds me my home in a smaller footprint Well done the collaboration between design and builder 💕👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🇨🇦
Please, what is the green olive color in the formal living room? I want to paint my kitchen that color. Since I was a child moody was my favorite!!! I detest white institutional looking kitchens. This color is perfect!
I’ve seen many home decor videos in UA-cam…. And I noticed that whenever a home has dark finishes, at the time of the making of the video usually all the lights (including candles, spot lights and ambience lights are switched on. It showcases the magical atmosphere that can be achieved with dark walls and dark furniture. I don’t know what happened here… Did they watched the video before posting it?
Is the house dark by design...one would assume use of natural light is the best option in design rather than electricity. Also use of volume even for small spaces tends to give an effect of openness so y oi u can see the furniture and fittings.
I could almost fit two of my kitchens in the pantry! Studio McGee, I love your videos, but please, please light your rooms when filming so we can see the details of your beautiful work. The darkness borders on depressing sometimes.
This is probably my favorite house you have ever done. It’s absolutely beautiful. And it’s a good mix of modern and vintage, but also moody and airy. I like the dichotomy are these kitchen stools McGee and Co as well?
On first glace it might look nice. Then, it starts looking a bit like a cave. It's visible how dark the spaces are. The bottom of the staircase being curved, is not some ground breaking design. Also, the first thing you see when you enter, is the staircase, seating area and a whole blank wall. The little pictures on the side with the blank wall look really off. And have fun cleaning those uncomfortable looking stools ( though let's be real, these people likely have a cleaning lady). All those holes and crannies. Personally, I also prefer sitting on fabric, and not leather, especially during the summer. Color wise, this kind of trend seems to be going strong for quite a while now. It's soothing, seems to be really popular. From a viewer's point it's starting to get repetitive though.
Beautiful home but turn the brightness up on those dark rooms so I can see what I’m looking at.

It’s nice but a little too moody . Those dark colors do something to my morale
nah that shit's a vibe
Honestly, it's the most beautiful McGee Home I've ever seen. Everything is so beautiful and elegant. The dining room, the kitchen, the pantry ... everything is GORGEOUS. Painting the power outlets to match the marble is just next level.
I would really love to see these dark rooms in night with all light fixtures and ambient lights switched on 😍😍
😍❤️

I was also wondering why the lights weren’t on. I want to see the whole feeling!
That brass threshold between the tile and wood is everything! I love you guys and your houses so much
It really is everything! Thanks so much!🥰
Everything is literally stunning!
Your eye is impeccable… your use of materials and textures always leave me blown away!
PERFECTION

Seriously that plaster is a dream!!!! ❤

Wow, thank you!
The youtube series are back! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
We love a great UA-cam home renovation series! 😊😉

@@kimberlynlee1300 “ dead” means it is so good I died! Lol!! I love it!
Thank you so much 😘

the paint on the outlet to match is genius!!!
Would be nice to turn some lights on so we can see the walls
Must be saving money on electricity

I found it, it's by Emmanuelle Simon for the dining room wavy sideboard if anyone else is wondering.
Absolutely Beautiful! Love every detail!
Thank you so much!
I love your SM The Studio Logo, I think it’s new, super fresh and sophisticated.
I am in awe of this home! Spectacular! So beautiful! I love so much!❤

Stunning. Will the kitchen sink stain since it’s marble? I LOVE those front doors. A heavy, black metal front door is always a showstopper

This was breathtaking. Instantly saved to my inspo playlist.
I LOVE all Studio McGee projects and designs! However, this is by far my favorite design that you have done.
Thank you so much!❤️
I love the background music. Such a beautiful home. Well done studio McGee❤❤❤
Thank you! 🤗
Loved the interview!!
🥰
The devil works hard but Erin Stetzer works harder! I'm praying that I can work with her in my future home design she really does bring your ideas to life her company is beyond amazing!
😂😘
My favorite house you've ever done.
easily $100k+ on that kitchen marble alone with all those DETAILSSSS its flawless😭
I can’t stop thinking about this house
I’d love to see McGee take on a more layered approach to their designs. It’s beautiful! I feel I want more these days!
This Home is exquisite! Exceptionally designed and excuted.
Thanks so much!💓
Love the home and Shea's outfit😀
Incredible 😍😍😍 love the moodiness, love the architectural details, loved hearing from the contractor… you guys made a perfect team 👌👌👌
Thank you so much 😘

Love the front door! Thanks for sharing this project with us.
🥰
Stunning!!! Every detail perfection ❤️
Thank you!❤️
So stunning❤❤
Cons: Entry way sofa, all of the open shelving, and glass front kitchen cabinets.

Can you share the paint colors for each room?
I love the dark aesthetic and would have liked to have seen what you did with lighting.
Such an amazing home design. The finishes are beautiful. Would have liked to be able to see more in the dark rooms but the lighting is poor when your filming.
Love the new McGee style!
😘
The design is just stunning ❤️ I am impressed and inspired 👏🏾
Thank you so much!❤️
Beautiful project! Where is that travertine dining table from?
Absolutely beautiful design and colours that’s so moody and cozy love it Probably because it reminds me my home in a smaller footprint Well done the collaboration between design and builder 💕👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🇨🇦
Thank you so much 😘
Came across this channel today and impressed with the design and finishes of this home. Is there way to incorporate these in smaller homes?
It’s extremely dark which I like personally, but the kitchen that dark is a bit concerning without lights
Beautiful! Would love to know what color green was used for the dining room and living room?
OMG finally!❤
Why don’t they turn the lights on?!!
This is so beautiful!
Thank you so much 😘
Amazing home. Shea, you are inspiring and got me into interior design. Are you going to come out with another Netflix season on your series?
Thank you so much 😘 We don't have plans for another season but are excited about our plans for UA-cam content!
Ok
Could you tell me where to buy the entry tile and also the brass transition. Looking to do the same thing in our home
Will you be showing us the rest of the home? Fab design.
Yes, stay tuned for the rest of the house!
The house is STUNNING! I loved EVERY detail except the settee. For some reason, the print and size looks awkward to me.
Stunning
🥰
What’s the ceiling height on the main level? Beautiful home!
so beautiful
Beautiful home 😍
Thank you so much 😘
I love this home. It looks like it is older which I love even though it is a new build. stunning would this be considered a colonial style home ?
Amazing home!
Thank you!💕
Hi Shea! Is it possible to share the brand/model of the Wallpaper in the dining room?
Hit it OUT OF THE PARK, again! 😉
This home is absolutely amazing!!!! Dark painted walls makes the rooms so moody!!!!!
Agreed!😍
This house is so beautiful 😱😍 I live in Houston and would love to go look at it in person. Can you drop the addy? Jk 😂 unless…..?
Love Your style ❤. Greetings from Ireland 🍀
Thank you!❤️
Why not turn some lights on. So dark.
Please, what is the green olive color in the formal living room? I want to paint my kitchen that color. Since I was a child moody was my favorite!!! I detest white institutional looking kitchens. This color is perfect!
This is the most beautiful house by mc gee. But please turn on the light ✨
Where can we get the the outside door lanterns? Love them 💕 they look like they are gas.
I had to build an under structure to my island. An 800 pound 2” thick Walnut counter. It would have crushed the cabinets.
Lovely home, beautiful …I had to follow the tour with the volume off though.🤦♀️
I’d love to know where I can get the kitchen stools and chairs

Obsessed!
🥰
Darker rooms are a tad on the dark side, but otherwise beautiful, inspiring design, very elegant and classic yet modern and dynamic
The home is beautiful but it’s filmed so dark you can’t really see a lot of the beauty especially in the kitchen and pantry area.
This is probably my favorite house you have ever done. It’s absolutely beautiful. And it’s a good mix of modern and vintage, but also moody and airy. I like the dichotomy are these kitchen stools McGee and Co as well?

Very nice but so dark rooms with dark furniture or paint? But love it anyways❤🤷♀️
Can you please provide the paint colors in all the rooms.
How do you clean a house this big? :o
A celebrity with taste...nice surprise
island pendant are very undesirable. wow, so many better options
Can anyone tell me how to find out the paint color of walls and trim in the entryway?
That color is Mother of Pearl plaster by Segreto Finishes❤️
