Interesting review. I have seen other ones say the opposite regarding the roots. They felt that the airwrap was doing a better job that the airstrait. Shows that in the end we have to try for ourselves and hope for the best !
Absolutely! I have a friend that had very different results with the airstrait and I completely agree with you. I think you have to find the right mix of technology+technique that’s most intuitive to you
@T2MARA Hi, I already have the airwrap which I bought very recently so I don't plan on buying a new expensive tool. I am actually very happy with it. But since I still have time to return mine as the airstrait was launched just after I bought my airwrap I wanted to see if I should exchange it.... But I am gone keep the airwrap. :-)
Great review, short and to the point. I have the Revair and just purchased the Airstrait. After watching your video, I'm excited about my new purchase. Thank you!
Thanks for the comparison! I have all the Dyson heat tools and love them!!! I just picked up the Airstrait yesterday but haven’t tried it yet. Tomorrow is the big day😂 What intrigued me most about the AirStrait is being able dry and straighten at the same time. I love that it has a dry feature for refreshing as needed. I actually use my AirWrap in the same way. I typically wear my natural hair straight and based on videos i’ve seen and you mentioned it too, a flat iron on textured hair will still need to be used, which is fine for me. I did notice how much heavier the power brick is compared to the Airwrap and the regular dryer. Once again, thanks for your original review and this follow-up video!
I’m so excited for you to try it and I hope you get great results! I also have the Dyson flat iron and can’t wait to use it in conjunction with the airstrait
@@HereDiianas Ok, so i used it wet for the first time last week and found it have more of a learning curve than anticipated. I thought I could take pretty large sections and use it to get the results i wanted but that isn’t the case. I just don’t section my hair into that many sections when blow drying but that was the biggest issue. Also, it is surprisingly HOT when it’s blowing my hair straight. With my hair texture, i still have to go over with a flat iron but not as much. Lastly, I tried it on dried hair and it works marvelously!!! It gives me a smooth finish and resists humidity for some reason. I used on dry hair Friday evening and have worked out, don’t yard work, cleaned, been in the RAIN, and it has not reverted or got frizzy one bit. My hair is medium texture i guess and on the finer side BUT air gets very frizzy normally and it didn’t on the dry mode. As far as the Airwrap, I still use that the most because of the versatility and I can blow dry/style large sections but i think the smaller sections help ensure a smoother result. Oh also, i read this in the Airstrait about how it can cause lights to flicker if not in a GFI plug and that is true!! The first time I used it in the bathroom plugged into the GFI plug but the next time I used it, I plugged it into bedroom plug/non GFI and it made the lights flicker, but no impact to performance. It must be quite powerful because I plug my Airwrap and even my regular dyson supersonic into the bedroom plug and it never flickers. Just something to know.
This video came up because I watched a few Airstrait videos after getting a 20% off owners email coupon, and I had never heard of the Airstrait. I did end up purchasing and will be using it tonight. But this was a fantastic, non-biased comparison video, which was also informative for me. ❤ While I had heard of the Revair and Airwrap. I didn't realize the Airwrap could dry wet hair. I thought it was a tool that was like a curling iron and flat iron, which didn't interest me because I have not owned or used a flat iron or curling iron in years. I may have purchased if I had known it could dry wet hair. As far as the Revair. I never understood the hype. It looked huge to me and seemed like it would be best for those who have patience l, which is not me!😅 Anywho, I can't wait to try the Airstrait as It's been two or three years since I've straightened my hair (outside of two protective styles I tried). I'm hoping I get the voulne at the roots and thoughout like I've seen in the few review videos I watched. Lack of voulme is what made me stop wearing it straight.
Glad you found the video helpful! The RevAir is big but it’s fast 😅. I like that the Dyson tools are easier to travel with, I hope you get a good result with the Airstrait, let me know how it turns out
The only one of the three that I have is the Rev Air. It really works on my just shampooed, relaxed hair. The only con I have is that is bulky and awkward to use.
Thanks for your analysis. I believe the airstrait might be the best for me. I also live in South Korea so Revair will not work here & I can't buy it. There's a Dyson store in Seoul & I can pick this up. I have high density hair, but fine strands & I'm really struggling with mechanical damage from comb attachments & brushes. I do think Shark Flexstyle is better than Dyson Airwrap when it comes to mechanical damage, the bristles on the brush are more gentle, so I usually use that one for a silk press. But for a regular blowout or a stretch I think the airstrait will be my go-to everyday dryer.
Thanks for this review! I’ve had two of these in a cart for a while now lol. Between the AirStrait and RevAir, is either better than the other at drying roots?
For some reason, when I use my Rev Air, it makes my hair strands wrap around each other and creates knots and i have blunt cut ends (cant stand split ends). It has turned me off. Im thinking about getting the Airstrait.
Oh no! I’ve had the Airstrait for 9 months now and I still use it regularly and I’m happy with the results I get. I still like the RevAir because it’s fast with relatively low heat but they have slightly different benefits to me.
Thanks for your review, I enjoyed it. Currently I use the Dyson Supersonic with the Comb tool, my hair length is around yours. Would you prefer the Dyson Airstrait over the Supersonic? I really want to upgrade, but if its not worth it, I’m not. It only takes four passes in each section for my hair to be completely dry.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! I tried the Supersonic last year and I was impressed by how quickly it dried my hair. My only issue was that I struggled to get my ends as straight as I wanted them to be with the comb attachment. It may have been a technique issue on my part. My two cents: if you’re getting good results with the comb attachment you may not see a huge difference with the Airstrait. Hope this helps!
Not at all! The product has really improved my blow drying results. My hair comes out soft and fluffy and humidity resistant. I got the recommendation from this video by the Blowout Professor. He breaks up the recommendations by hair type around the 4:00 mark. ua-cam.com/video/5bt-cznnYZI/v-deo.html His recommendation for flat iron heat protectant has also worked really well for me (I live in Houston where the heat and humidity are HIGH 😅).

Maybe use the Airstrait for the length of the hair and the Airwrap for the roots?

Amazing review. I wish all reviews were this detailed
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for a concise comparison of these tools.
Excellent review and to the point! Thank you! Revair it is !
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching!

How was the airstraight vs revair for you?
Do you prefer one over the other? Trying to decide
Yes same revair or Dyson?

So ? How do you like it compared to the smoothing brush from the airwrap ?

Thanks for such a detailed review !
The airstrait gives me SO much movement and makes my hair very smooth to the touch. I love it so much
Same here! The smoothness can’t be beat
yes cos it uses more heat
For the Revier, you should put it on a high heat, lower air.
Have you tried this before? I’d love to know how it worked out for you. I was thinking of lowering the air speed to dry a twist out
I liked the review ❤nice one with timing even 👌🏿
Glad you liked it!

Great review thx! ❤

This makes complete sense, hopefully you’ll get good results with the Airstrait since it does have bristles. Let me know how you like it!
Thanks for this review! I’ve had two of these in a cart for a while now lol. Between the AirStrait and RevAir, is either better than the other at drying roots?
Yw! They both dry the roots equally well but I find that my ends are straighter/smoother with the Airstrait

Very helpful review now I’m torn😆, but your hair is beautiful 💕
Thank you so much! I’m going to do a video giving my opinion on which is best based on your hair needs/goals soon, stay tuned!

Does the Nexxus blow out cream leave hair crunchy or sticky? Thank you

Can I use the Revair on Locs?
Absolutely! The RevAir will work well on locs, just make sure to feed them into the RevAir in sections
I love u❤
