As a 600 hour gyrocopter pilot and working for a well known gyro manufacture I am very impressed with the way your model handles and your expertise at the way gyro's are typically flown !! Watch those zero or negatives G's !! Well done !!
Like someone else said it’s called a pre-rotator and is only used to spin the rotor up to speed for takeoff and just about all modern full size auto gyros have them. Back in the day you had to fast taxi down the runway with the stick all the way back to get the rotor spun up. When these things where first invented they even had the ability to takeoff vertically by spinning the blades up a good bit with a clutch/pulley system attached to the engine, I forget what they called this, I think might have been something like a grasshopper takeoff or something. They’ve been around since the early 30s I think, the first designs where very cool. It was definitely an aviation innovation that’s for sure!
👍👍WOW that looks so real! It even has a rotor blades pre-rotator, which is a must-have for short takeoffs... and to save the right shoulder and arm muscles from having to manually spin up the rotor blades enough so they don't flap when accelerating into the wind! I used to fly a Bensen B-8M and this one is spot on for flight characteristics, and even the sound. Just WOW that's awesome!
Wow, talk about something different, THIS is different ! I've flown R/C for years and at every gathering you see the same basic stuff flying. All nice, all flown with pride, but similar. Not this ! This is an amazing aircraft and well flown. Well done !
Reminds me of something similar in the '40's & 50's..they were called "Little Henrys". (not RC but real thing)....was never massed produced then production was cut.
I weigh 120 and I'm wondering if this RC would carry me.. just curious please let me know.. or somebody please give me your opinion. Thank you Steve from Pittsburgh
I fly a full-sized gyro and this is impressive. Better still is that it appears to be flown by someone who knows how to fly it instead of the usual muppet who rolls it on takeoff and thinks that there is something wrong with the design.
Stretch it out a couple of feet and the guy could lose the dummy and climb on it himself. I wonder if he already has a full sized one under construction?
One thing about RC flying is something is always off, whether it's the scale speed of the aircraft, the sound of the aircraft, or the flight characteristics of the aircraft. Well, in this video, everything is spot on.
The aircraft itself is pretty cool. Well done! However, having a child sized, lifelike dummy onboard is maybe not such a good idea. If that aircraft is ever involved in an accident, witnesses will surely call emergency services. Those emergency workers will rush to the scene, putting themselves and the public at risk to rescue your dummy.
If I happened to see this fly over I would have waved at the pilot! So realistic, amazing!
Excellent, I like the radial engine. Thanks for the show Richard,
Perfectly....bravo congratulations to the gyrocopter model and pilot...
That's a beauty Richard, Harold needs to take full-size lessons, thanks for sharing 👍
Beautiful build. Congrats!👍👍👍👍👍
I have seen some RC Gyros, but this is by far the best flying one I have seen!
I had just today the honour to have Harald Booms as guest on our model association. Great men, very kind and with a huge knowledge about auto gyro.
Ok. This is brilliant! Thanks for posting.

What manufacturer do You work for?
I worked for many years at Ken Brock mfr
@@w4fej Thanks for answering !
Do you ever party with the dummy flying the gyro?😮
beautiful model, brilliantly flown. And flown like a gyro, not a fixed-wing. Well done
I would say you need to add the best sounding RC Autogyro on planet :D
Fantastic, who would have thought you could have a RC Gyro Copter well done mate John
What a beautiful model!
Rich……what a beautiful flight!!!!! Smoooooooth!
Very nice mate and well flown
Super pilot mooie constructie,bedankt.😊
Felicidades,una verdadera maravilla.Bravo
Excellent! 👍
Fantastic!
This flies sooo well
Damned thing looks real! Well done!
Thanks a lot for doing that. Boredom will prevail unless we fight it.
That was great. Thx for the entertainment
Totally awesome
WOW. a Lot of work. Well done
😂fgfvjy
Pretty damn good................
That was awesome! How do the control surfaces work is it elevator rudder? Very nice flight and landing!
That's pretty cool
Show , Fantástico !!!!!!!!!
Did I get the impression the lift rotor was spun up with an electric motor..?
(Hmm.. idea?)
The e-motor brings the rotor up to speed before take-off on the ground, for a short take-off distance.
in the air the electric motor is off.
It's called a pre-rotator and is fairly standard on modern gyrocopters.
@@halfrhovsquared I am impressed that a model should have this feature. Excellent!

I'm sure Harold is proud of his project. I'm wondering, if he sells plans for the copter.
Soft landing 👍
Thanks

Very beautifull scal model
Good setting.
Nice aircraft
Qual é a velocidade máxima, autonomia e altitude recomendada?

boa tarde amigo este auto tem gyro eletronico para estabizar ou nao ??
Happy too

WOW!
Alot of time went into that every little detail even hear the chopper sounds
How about building a jet pack man with 2 large EDFs mounted horizontally on top?
Muito bom
absolutely fantastic. haha he has little shoes too XD
Mommy, I want one. Lol

When you see it fly, you no longer question the reason why!

Hummm now my son whants one for him😢
Nice, but 100% not the largest „in the world“. I have seen at least two bigger
With a rotor diameter of 4.6 meters, it is probably the largest RC-controlled autogyro under 25 kg take-off weight
Hello, This is great.. What is the Take off weight ? Do you sell the kit? Any website? Or email ? I am interested. Tks
😃😃😃
Dozens of UA-cam videos claiming "the largest".
Qual o nome, onde comprar, quanto custa um desses, qual deve ser o tamanho da pista, e como aprende a pilotar?
I can't imagine anyone allowing their child to pilot one of these! What sort of parent would allow this? And the poor child looks scared stiff!

I guess so, as he or she is a great pilot......Not very talkative though!
