- Filmed by Sifu Lance Brazil and his Dji Spark drone. It's a very different perspective from a drone that is just parked in space! First flight of my new (2007) Outback Trike! Playing on the Jean Dry Lake just outside Las Vegas. Check out Lance's channel also. Thanks also to Russel Watson and Seether for the tune'age.
Great video! Ignore all the snarky comments from the guys waiting for their mom to bring them a hot pocket!
Thanks. A hot pocket sounds pretty good (I missed breakfast).
Hey! That's my trike! :) Cool vid and great drone platform. Videography must have taken some planning I imagine. Looking forward to seeing more. I have a few of my vids posted but nothing of this impact. Well done. Subscribed
Is it really? I got it last winter from Mike Huditz near Chicago. My buddy Lance driving the drone. Have you got a new one yet?
Hey! Thaťs my trike! cool vid
Looks just like the salt flats just south of Las Vegas! I used to land GA planes out there while I was a student getting my Private pilot certificate. That was many years ago!😞😢😢
Great video! Thanks! I fly paramotors, but eventually (because of age) I will hangar a delta wing trike...learned to fly one years ago....great fun!
Excellent soundtrack pick....one of my favorite things about Enterprise.🙂
Bill
Thanks Bill. I really liked the series (Enterprise). I have flown PPG a couple times but I am 66 now and not sure I could run with 50 or 60 pounds on my back...
@@fly1956 Yep, I'm 66 too...learned to PPG 4 years ago....actually signed up the day my daughter finished school.🤣. I'm lazy and reverse launch at the beach when the wind is good. If it is marginal, I reverse launch with a single skin Independence Grasshopper.....like I did several days this week. Where there is a will, there is a way! Bill
@@10661956 Thanks Bill. I have a will so maybe... Gotta do some weight training first 🙂.
I owned an airborne trike with Rotax 503 from 1989 to 2014 and also own a DJI Spark .Had some great adventures with it Have made some UA-cam and also wrote a book "The Kiwi In Emuland fair Dinkum" available on Amazon. Had my spark for a year .
Better songs?
How powerful engine is needed for this type of aircraft? - can you give us an example please?
For 2 people you need at least 50 HP. 65 is better. For 1 person I have flown with a 25 HP.
lol great sound track... Enterprise...lol nice video. afriad of heights myself. wish i could try this
There is no perception of heights when flying. There is no reference for perspective. In fact it’s very hard to estimate altitude without and altimeter
Take an intro flight with an instructor, I think you’ll be surprised
Did you build that trike yourself from scratch or was it a kit?
Bought it from a dealer fully assembled.
Airborne windsports from Australia
How would you describe the overall quality and performance of AirBorn Trike in comparison to Evolution or NothWing ?
Better...
Thanks for responding. Two quick questions:
1) can you fold the wing for storage?
2) from which company you bought it, email address of the maker ?
Edge has positive 6 g and negative 3 g and in Australia its a certified aircraft.
I like ok sir
Me too! Thanks for watching!
Nice video....
How's that electric geology!!!!
Mantab ini booos!!
Sir I am Indian sir I want to trike propeller but how to buy this, please guidance me & somebody help me,🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Love it..enjoy
Thanks. I upload every couple weeks with new videos. Have you seen "Aligator in Lake Mead" yet? I think it is one of my best to date.
How much does the trike cost
Mine was second hand and I paid $10,000. The engine was nearing overhaul time so I got it fairly cheap. Now days a new one will cost from about $25,000 to about $100,000. One like mine, about $20,000 to $30,000 depending on options and motor installed.
@@fly1956wow I don't have that amount of money. I'm a very poor young adult trying to make a big impact in saving our beautiful waterways. But my dream is to also fly I love that trike. I wish I could win one or if someone could donate me one.
@@edgars00789 $10,000 is less than most motorcycles, but yeah, I know how you feel. I am retired and live on a fixed income. Money is tight everywhere.
Wow, the trolls on this video are thick! Nice video Larry!
Yeah, like bunnies in the dark... Thanks for watching. Check out "Alligator in Lake Mead?" also on my channel.
Hi How much is the plane?
I bought this one second hand for about $10000. New they are much more.
In Australia 50 thousand. Rotax 912 engine upgrade is a lot more
Hey can anyone help I want to ride one, am at Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 😅
They have these in brisbane. Google it
Hi wow nice
Thanks! Please check out my "Alligator in Lake Mead" video, and lots of others.
Plles assembal videos i am varry intreshted
Need a on board camera.
This was like my first flying video. Almost all my recent videos have an onboard camera. Please check out some of my newer videos.
Hey awesome larry lookin good. White eagle
Thanks. It's been a while since I flew a 2 seater. I had a couple soaring trikes lately.
Thanks. Hope to meet all you guys in Montana next month.
Eeww. The music. Sorry.
Good GOD that's a lot of chemtrails overhead.
Did you see the ones on the dirt too??? They're even trying to poison the Earth as well as the sky!!!
Fly over state? ;)
I might rethink the song.. would rather hear the motor.
Just a check though - did they pay the royalties on the music? Just asking - IP theft is a crime. We're watching!
If we mute the music, does he get his money back?
Who's watching? You and your boyfriend? LMFAO
No había otra música mas cabrona y molesta?
Weird clouds!?
Checkerboard!?
Shitty song!
Cool trike.
The songs not that shit
@@Louis-lu5wh
Oh.....
It's a shitty song.
Ugh.
Made me puke
@@mikethomas9544 Sorry you have such a weak constitution. I will try to do better.
@@fly1956 Laz what were you thinking, the music is as gay as. Ruined an otherwise good video.
Music is boooooo
If I Flew one of these Trikes, that Jesus Bolt would always be on my Mind because if it comes out or Breaks, you will most likely See Jesus...
@randy, Im thinking of buying a sub 70kg and train on a quick 450, that bolt is changed in maintenance and not a normal bolt, I check it in pre flights, but kinda know what you mean ;-)
There's a steel cable as backup plus the aluminum tube would tear apart before the bolt snapped
That's why it's called the Jesus bolt.
For sure, the man on the ground with the drone in his hand performed a low quality videography following you in the air at close range. Disappointed.
This was one of our first attempts, Sun Shine, and drones have a learning curve to get really flawless on. Thanks for watching anyway.
Didn’t watch. Didn’t like music.
Can't find the volume control on your TV? Sorry
I'm ok with this kind of kite flying - remote, relatively low altitude, and unlikely to interfere with actual flight operations of conventional ("real") aircraft. Keep the garbage low.
Hi Frank. Flying by the seat of your pants can be much more challenging and fun than eating your lunch, while the computer flies the aircraft. Sounds like a button pusher to me... Keep the "Real" aircraft up high as to not interfere with the actual flying... I should mention that many "low and slow" pilots are airline or fighter pilots during the regular work week. I am sorry you have never tasted this type of flying. You don't know what you are missing. :-)
If you were to ask nicely, I might be talked into taking you up for an introductory flight some time. :-)
Kind of a typical lame brain, Larry. My first rating and 1,000 hours of PIC time are in sailplanes. So, yep, buddy, I push buttons but I'm guessing I have more "engine out" hours than about 90% of licensed and pretend pilots and motorized kite flyers. Prior to getting my rating I was doing 250 mile missions in gliders out of Estrella (E68) down in Arizona under the supervision of Les Horvath - so don't make any assumptions about what I have or haven't "tasted" in terms of flying. As a matter of fact, I've had a few near run-ins with various kite fliers who had no respect for right of way conventions - keep the kites low and well away from published air routes. Once I was required to carry a transponder in a sailplane I think a kite flier operating at anything over 1,500 feet AGL should be required to do the same.
Larry - probably best to zip it at this point - I'm sure I have multiples of the hours you have - ranging from a hang glider to sailplane, to single engine land, to multi-engine to seaplane.
Yeah, I am SO PROUD to have the privilege to chat with a "Real Pilot". You don't know anything about me, or the other people you insult so easily, other than what I post. If I cared I would sit down and compare logbooks but it's not worth the effort. Have a nice life.
That's so cool I want one what's the price range and where do I go to check it out. Also is that the dry lake out side of Vegas,?
Price can vary from around 10K used to 100K, depending on engine, hours, and bells and whistles. I bought my Airborne Outback for 10K from a dealer just outside of Chicago. A & M Air sports is the name of the dealer. Mike Huditz. Yes, that is the dry lake at Jean, Nevada.
Congratulation for your solo in Airborne ! Who is your instructor ? Glenn ?
Nope, I learned from a Chinese hang glider pilot in southern Taiwan, 1998. He could not speak english and my Mandarin was very sketchy. Just do as I do kinda thing. :-)
Dude! You have the best videos flying I have ever seen! I am a big fan. You are obviously not on a shoestring budget like me... 🙂 I used to fly gyros at Farrington Air Park in Padukah, Kentucky with a guy named Steve Graves. He flew a 2 seat Marchetti gyro and he taught me gyros and then finished my Private ticket as well. LONG time ago... Again, GREAT videos!
Very cool, what size is the trailer and how do you modified it?
Hi. Trailer is 8 feet wide by 12 feet long. Could have been shorter, but this was a deal. I screwed 2 foot X 2 foot plywood and used 4X4 cedar to make the wheel chocks.
Cool.
Thanks.
Don’t leave the seat of a running trike.. a gust of wind can tip it over, you can easily walk into the prop (black props become invisible when turning), or the machine can start moving on its own.
We had one of our guys, who made a habit of leaving his trike during warm up had his trike start to roll. In his panic he stuck his hand through the prop disc.
He lost all the fingers on that hand
I agree whole heartedly, but when it is really cold (like below freezing) the battery is not enough to start it so I gotta pull the lawnmower cord to start. I usually put the front wheel against my truck wheel so it can't go anywhere. And I am keenly aware of the prop disc. Thanks.
