Thank you for your comments at the 6:50 mark, regarding your local electrical cooperative! As a retired employee of our electrical cooperative, it makes me feel good to hear someone appreciate the work we do, and the right-of-way maintenance required to keep the grid up and running. We, the cooperatives and other utility companies, catch so much flak from customers COMPLAINING about their trees being cut or trimmed. Yet, they are the FIRST ones to scream when their power goes out because of falling tree limbs, which is the BIGGEST CAUSE of most storm outages! So, THANK YOU, for giving your cooperative the THUMBS UP! Also, I want to thank you for REMINDING us, that FAMILY TIME is something SPECIAL, and should be relished, as you did! You shared your valuable time with your wife and children, and it was such fun to go sledding with you! 🥰
Great guys that do honesty decent work at a fair price deserve all the praise 👏 as Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee in Zombieland says gotta enjoy the little things work comes and go projects get done or not family is forever blink and u miss it
People need to know how big a tree is going to get before they plant them and then figure out how far away from the lines they need to be. I planted 26 trees on my property. Trees are only to get 15 feet tall and 15-to-20-foot diameter. I planted then 20 feet away from the power lines. Shouldn't be a problem ever.
Those early 200s Chevy door handles were my nemesis lol. I’ll never forget the time me and my girlfriend (now wife) were coming out from dinner and I went to open the door and ripped the handle right off 😂 she put it in a box that she has for dedicated memories of me.
Woke new year day with out electricity, no bad weather and a special needs grandson who can’t be without music and drove around for several hours playing the radio. Found the electric guys congregating at a sub station feverishly working on repairs, chatted with a fella who was very informative, kudos to all the people who do that for a living. Blessings all
I miss having enough snow to sled. Used to happen every year, we went 5 years without it. We'd go down the hill and had to bail before we reached the pond. My sister didn't bail and went for a swim :D The memories, the 90s were a fun time.
Good morning Mike. Glad to hear you are all safe from the snow and ice storm. Great fun listening to all of the laughs your family had sledding!! I used to have so much fun building bobsled runs in our yard for our girls when they were little. Great advice about the CO detectors for when people run generators or propane heaters.
The alarm is a CO (carbon monoxide) monitor, CO2 (carbon dioxide) deletes the oxygen in the air, CO reduces the ability for the blood to carry oxygen and the effects can be fatal.
Yep, the biggest fear on a repair is; you're all done, got everything all buttoned up and ready to hit the GO button, and you look down and there's a part laying on the bench that goes in - ten layers deep! Kind of makes your head hurt.................Great video! Miss sled ridden myself! At 70, it might not be wise. Thanks Mike & Family! Lee
Making memories with your loving family is in my opinion, what life is all about Mike. You, your wife & kids will remember this day for the rest of your lives. Great video!! Y'all be safe !
Love the break from work and the family time sir? Nothing more precious than slippery hill time with the family. Love the channel and always look forward to them coming out. Thank you and hope your weather gets better soon sir.
Hey Mike, here in Western Australia, our temps go from 15c overnight, to high 20' low 30c during the day, next week we are looking at 38c,. roughly 100f . My country of birth, England was - 15c overnight. I hate snow and ice with a passion and I am so glad there is only one place in Western Australia that gets snow, maybe, 1 day a winter, and it's about 250miles south of me. I have done the last 10 winters in shorts, t shirts and trainers. The houses here are not set up for winter, they are built to keep the heat out, not keep it in. Reverse cycle a/c is the way you go. Brilliant video as always capt.
Thanks Captain for making me jealous. In a good way! You brought back wonderful memories from ages ago when I used to enjoy those sledding days with my then young daughter. Hang on to those memories. Those times disappear all too soon. And for sharing your winter scenes. Here up north we’ve had little to no snow, something those of us who cross country ski and snow shoe miss terribly.
When THINGS are long gone the memories of times together last a lifetime Mike. My wife and I lost everything years ago. It was hard, but, ya know, we have more stuff than we can deal with again. Even though some of what we lost had a great deal of meaning attached to them we can still laugh and rejoice, saying to each other, remember such and such......Time has moved on and we both learned just how important the love and times together are and that things are just things that wear out, become broken, and eventually move aside for other things, mostly. May you continue to be abundantly blessed Mike, continuing to treasure what really matters in life. John here, photographing the beauty of the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee, y''all.
Great family time fun sledding!!! We all didn’t become backyard mechanics without taking things apart multiple times. We’ve all been there, we’ve all done that. Stay safe Captain.
Anybody else impressed that the captain doesn’t have the OCD like me that turns into a complete clean up of every part touched and every part that didn’t need to be touched? Not only does it take me 5x longer to do it, I procrastinate 3x longer dreading all the work. Hats off to the Captain! Now I need to go buy 5 gallons of UDT2 because I’ve not repaired that power steering leak.
Don't miss those wonderful ice rains, the damage they bring. Great to see the 755 going back together and be ready for those warm days ahead. Might piece together some foam panels for the walls and the big door to keep a little warmth in inside the shop.
Area Diesel is amazing on all Diesel. They will jump in with both feet and give out a great video too. Thumbs up 👍 Ok I came back with a new comment. 😂 as your wife said the best snow we’ve ever had. Always have time with your family 😊
They way you do things, is just like normal people, so don't worry about that! Everyone who wields a spanner, has mishaps every day, so if you don't have them, your going to find out later, that something else happened that you didn't catch at the time, Guaranteed! Things are coming along nicely Mike, when installing w/pumps don't be afraid of using a "Little" bit of vaseline, to ease the sealing, that and get the rubber warm, hold it in your hand for a short time too. if necessary put it in your glove as you work. As always hope everything goes to plan and see you next time. From UK.
The main reason it matters is the inserts on the isolator are flanged on one side so they don't just pull out when tightened. The main thing I can say, is, you are not afraid to tackle anything. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!
Looks so much fun, snow sledding! Never have done that. Family fun time. I'm just a desert rat. Progress is still happening. You always put a smile on my face, I thank you for that. Thank you for sharing 👌 😊
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Interesting and entertaining to follow along as you put the tractor back together. Great that the Bluetti was so helpful when you needed it most. Thanks to Bluetti for sharing your product with the Captain. Brought back great memories with the sledding, share as much time with your kids as you can when the opportunity arrives, you will treasure those memories later on. Loved the bang on the side of the building followed by sorry dad. Classic she’s definitely your kid. Wishing you and your family the best.
We got our first official freeze and dusting of snow two days ago for the Oklahoma 2024-2025 winter season. Yesterday was clear, dry, and slightly cold. Woke up this morning and the snow was three inches deep. Still snowing this evening and it's closer to six inches deep. Doesn't look like it's going to slow down anytime soon. Fun times shoveling snow to keep the driveway, and porch clear (we don't have a sidewalk). I can respect a man who is willing to admit his mistakes and uses his humour to educate all of us! Nothing ever goes to plan. There is always something and a lot of somethings that go wrong. Just correct the mistake and learn from it for the next time. Hopefully an engine build for the 755 won't be needed for another 20 years or so. Always a plus to spend time with the family and enjoy what mother nature has to offer. The door handle is an easy fix. A good sign it was old and worn out and ready to be replaced.
As a kid, I grew up as your neighbor in Ohio. We didn't have a lot of good sledding hills where I was around Marysville. But dad knew of one country road that led down to a bridge that was a nice gentle drop. Right before the bridge was a path down to the creek that would give you a real kick in the gravity and down the ice you would go. Then you just walked up the bank to the road and started over. Good memories with my dad. Your kids will remember that day for the rest of their lives. Cheers Terry
Watching from AUS some of my favourite memories are from when I grew up in WISC sledding in the back yard with the whole neighbourhood crew, I just remember how out of control sledding is and it really made me smile when you guys were hurtling down the hill. Nice break from putting things on backwards like I do. Thanks for the entertainment! Love your work Captain!
Cap’n it’s a good thing you stocked up on Boogie boards to creep under the 555 and Dump truck… they worked great on the ice runs! I miss the days when I got to sled with my girls… the most memorable to them was when I attached a rope and tube to the hitch on my 4-wheel drive Kubota. They always go back to that day when we talk about their childhood snow days! I’m sure your girls will remember this day when you are far too old to climb aboard a tube and join them!!! Now about risking your “thigh meat”…. You are right, all kinds of NSFW damage can occur! Keep making memories bud… it makes life worth living.
That sledding looks great: some fun out of an ice storm. Love your continued positive attitude, Mike. 👌Say hi to the Admiral for us.🙋♂Happy New Year to all.
Stay safe and warm at your day job . That sledding reminds me of when we got snow every year when I was a kid . Now I'm old and it rarely even get flurries these days .
So I'm not the only one!! (setting something down 5 seconds ago and it disappears....) I've put 20 hours on my tractor over the last 3 days snow plowing, and I am headed back out for day 4, yep, love the cab, especially with the heat working! Looks like your going to have the 755 running like a top here soon, have a good one!!👍
What a wonderful time for a family who obviously loves each other to enjoy the time together, that's one reason I love your channel.God bless you through the new year.❤ I'm glad someone has been helpful for you, instead of being a nasty so &so to you, you have a beautiful family ❤️ 😊
Hope y'all are thawing out, our ice storm started about 2 hours ago, but I've still got internet, so that's a good sign. (Like the guy falling off the tall building, as he passed each window, you could hear him say "so far, so good.") Thanks for the video, take care!
It's a ridiculous 46 degrees bone Chilling 4 layer stay home in bed under multiple blankets here in far south Miami-Dade County just above the 18 mile streach to the Florida Keys this morning. Nice to see you got most of what you need to get the green machine back to work Captain.
Cold weather is no joke! Went to fire up the Massey Ferguson GC 1705 to clear the driveway aaaannnd it barely turned over. The wife and I dug out one vehicle and cleared about half the driveway by hand. Hoping to get the battery charger hooked up to get it started today. Great video as always. It’s always good to have family time and make memories that your kids will always cherish! Keep on grinding, you are an inspiration to me to keep moving forward on my own projects!
Great stuff. Glad the ice impact was not too bad for you. Awesome sledding, thanks for taking us for a ride! The 755 has earned all the love you’re giving it, for sure. Right with you on that job interview question, lol. Have a great day!
Single best thing a man can do in life is spend time with his family no matter how busy he is, no matter the situation he is in. If I had a dollar for everything I have had take apart because I got the cart ahead of the horse or misread directions I could have retired years ahead of what I did. Thanks for the update, enjoy your channel.
Maybe not in your location but it always amazes me when people down south that seldom get snow actually have sleds around. I wished a buddy of mine in Alabama a happy white Christmas years ago and after he finished cursing me out when it happened he showed my pictures of his kids having a blast sledding on the hill in front of his house. Glad you’re progressing on the 755. Your last video shows how much you need to have it back in use.
Glad you took the time for family fun, and thanks for sharing. Your family fun in the snow time reminded me of a story my dad told me of his boyhood with friends in rural Dodge County Wi in the late 1920s. He had a flexible flyer sled which later became mine. There was a country road he and his friends went sledding on. They could go down one hill and get up and over the next. Going over the second hill got them about a mile long sled ride. A long walk back, but what a ride.
I enjoyed watching you work on your tractor, the best part was the sledding, I laughed so hard and loud my wife came in from the other room to see what I was watching! We both watched that part of the video at least three times. Good fun, thanks we needed that!🤣😂
Capt as a child in southern Indiana ( and I am sure you have access to ) we used the old tubes ( with many patches ) from semi trucks and I guess dump trucks to sled ( or tube down rivers and creeks ) But be sure to duct tape that large valve stem down for the kids safety
When I was driving full time, I used to either send stuff to he fixed or buy new. Since retiring, I take on everything myself. I never got rid of anything I replaced so I have a lot of parts and projects
Reconditioning an engine yourself is about more than saving money, the satisfaction and pride of knowing you did it plus the fact that chances are you did a much better, more in depth job than many mechanics and you’ve learned more about engines ! Excellent as always Mike 👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
Captain, sorry about the extra comments but I hope it helps the channel. Anyways, the line "The trees will stop you was a hoot. And it reminds me of when I was stationed at Coast Guard Airstation Traverse City Michigan. We'd take our tobbagans up on Observation hill along with a gallon milk jug of rum and coke to fortify us with. Then we'd tabbogan around and down the outside rim of the bowl at the bottom of the hill standing up daredevil style 3 of use on board hooting like a bunch of loons with 6 layers of clothes including snowmobile suits and helmets trying to avoid hitting small Christmas trees along the way. At 70, I definitely don't miss beloved zero weather. It's nice getting to watch you and your wonderful family having a blast sledding down your hill having a bonding day the kiddies will remember fondly when they grow up and have kids of their own.
Good video Captain-I like looking at the snow for a while but in 2- hours I want it gone. That's the way it works in Alabama but they are saying we are gonna get lots of snow tonight.😒
Some of life's best memories include riding an inner-tube on water in either it's fluid or frozen state. I used to haul a huge one loaded with kids behind my old lawn tractor in high gear. Good times!
If you remember the Space Shuttle Challenger the O-rings were too cold to flex and seal the booster joint. That said, an inside pocket or warming up that water neck a little with a torch + a dab of Super Lube will help the next time.
Always love the videos of everything you do. But this one had that extra special twist of you taking the time to do some good ole fashion family fun in the snow!!!
Drop the O ring in a cup of hot water for a few minutes, then use some lube (vasoline, grease, or soap) like others have said. Because you've cut a few already, it wouldn't hurt to sand or smooth the edge of the hole some.
It's always nice to be to able to drop every thing to take time and have fun time with the family. Yes definitely warm up the Oring don't forget to warm up the other related parts
also back in the day, if you can find a car upholstery shop, they will sell you the old used convertible tops they remove and they make the best liner for you sledding tubes
I try to use a magnetic tray when I'm working on my stuff. Great until a metric bolt missed the tray. Spent an hour cussin' and looking for that dang bolt. Ended up being on the underside of the tray and stuck to the magnet. Grrrrrrr. Cold O rings: I soak them in my coffee: warmest liquid I have in my shop building. Also spent the money and got/use shore nuff O ring lube.
one thing to remember is the power companies really do want to restore you power BECAUSE if that meter ain't spinnin' they ain't makin' no money LOL so they really do have an incentive to restore your power after any outages / but if your cable went out just mark the time and prorate your bill when you pay it / have done that many times to Comcast and they never complained because I ain't paying for something I ain't gettin'
This is NOT the attitude of electric COOPERATIVES, as we are owned by those we serve. Our priority is in providing a service and keeping the power on. Profit is not the intent, as the money paid goes back into the infrastructure. At the end of the year, extra capital gain money is refunded back to the customers. But you are correct as to the cable tv companies, etc. What most people don't understand is that your "daily charge" is only a few dollars a day. Most people think they should get their WHOLE MONTHLY BILL refunded.
I lost power in a huge ice storm circa 2004 o 2005 for about five days.....Didn't have a generator then, but relied solely on candles and my ventless heater for warmth. I will always have a backup radiant heat source that is not dependent on electric. Sledding looked like a great time! Happy New Year 👍😁
Hey Cap’n, yep I get that putting something down and spending ages looking for it, but I’m in my 70’s so I will blame that on aging, so what’s your excuse, LOL:) that tobogganing looked like lots of fun for you all. On the tractor rebuild, I once had a grey fergy, TE20. It was my sweaty tractor, as it wouldn’t start without lots of verbal abuse. Once rebuilt I learnt about what the previous owner did, he put the cam shaft in the wrong way round, so I was surprised that it ran at all. It was great once repaired properly. Seems you’re doing a great job with your tractor.
Love the fact that 755 is going back together but more importantly you spend time with the family sledding well done 👍👋🇨🇦
The yelled "sorry" for sledding into the building was hilarious. This video really had it all; comedy, suspense, and adventure.

the sledding break was great bud. A man should never be too busy that he cant stop and go sledding with his kids
Great vid Captain great to see you and the family having fun in the snow. A nice Break from all the projects.
Watching you having fun with your family brought laughter and happiness to me thank you for bringing me along. As always have a great day
The sliding was the best part of the video. Brings back old memories. Thanks Mike.
I haven't been on a sledding hill like that since I was your Kid's age.
Priceless.
Making memories with your loving family is in my opinion, what life is all about Mike. You, your wife & kids will remember this day for the rest of your lives. Great video!! Y'all be safe !
Taking time out of the grease to play with your family was fun to watch. You're an A-1 dad.

Happy New Year to you, your family and all your subscribers Mike. Looking forward to your 2025 content, always entertaining!!
Good job on the video editing. The transition moment from cut O rings to laying back in the chair was hilarious. Always love your humor.

Stay safe Mike… thanks for adding the family fun…
Great stuff. Glad the ice impact was not too bad for you. Awesome sledding, thanks for taking us for a ride! The 755 has earned all the love you’re giving it, for sure.
Right with you on that job interview question, lol. Have a great day!
Hey, mike, living the dream mate...all the best AUS viewer
What a nice video with your wife and kids. The tractor going back together is great news too.
Another fantastic video. Your positivity is so refreshing and your content always makes me laugh. Love seeing your family fun. Keep em coming 👍👍👍👍👍
Same bad weather in Missouri. Glad you and the family are safe.
I like rebuilding. Can't afford new, so I don't waste time thinking along those lines.
Besides, it makes great content.
Good fun, thanks we needed that!🤣😂
Looks like your family was having fun sliding down that hill, the ice covering the snow made it really slick 👍👍😎😎😂😂
I live in Florida but once I lived in New England and I enjoyed watching you guys have fun in the snow. Happy new year.
Captain Kleeman at the the doggy gave up 1/2 down the hill . And taking time to spend with the Admiral and the Lieutenant is always great .😊😊😊
Glad you were home for at least part of the weather, and hope any shifts coming up are safe and as uneventful as possible.
i admire your attitude to anything you do.amazing
Reconditioning an engine yourself is about more than saving money, the satisfaction and pride of knowing you did it plus the fact that chances are you did a much better, more in depth job than many mechanics and you’ve learned more about engines ! Excellent as always Mike 👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
HAPPY NEW YEAR MIKE!
I'm in my 70s and still enjoy a good sled run. Can't say I enjoy the walk back up the hill but the slide down is a blast.
☃️ yep winter has arrived , hope you grown up kids had as much fun as the young kids had sledding down that hill ☃️
@9:44
Deez nuts. 😂🤣
Yupp. Childish, but I’ve been left alone and just started my first coffee.
Always love the videos of everything you do. But this one had that extra special twist of you taking the time to do some good ole fashion family fun in the snow!!!
Caught myself literally laughing at your sledding clip. Thanks for sharing the fun!
Great video Mike. Got my laughing out of the way so I can return to being a grumpy old man until your next post.
Great video quality time with the family making memories that will last a life time.
Enjoying your videos keep them coming
Isn’t it a grand thing to be a kid again just for a little while ❤
NEVER get snow.... Almost never frost.... But I can see the attraction of some snow (enough snow)!
Ahoy captain love the videos keep it coming
Man sledding is so fun!.. Good to see lil jon going back together 😊🚜☃️🛷⚓️
I lost power in a huge ice storm circa 2004 o 2005 for about five days.....Didn't have a generator then, but relied solely on candles and my ventless heater for warmth. I will always have a backup radiant heat source that is not dependent on electric. Sledding looked like a great time! Happy New Year 👍😁
Best part….mumbles…”It’ll be a miracle if this thing runs,” 😂
How fun on the sledding ... a good start to 2025. May it be a joyful and prosperous new year y'all ~ from the French Riviera.
and oddly enough, same thing happened to my Toyota HiLux on the handle ... happens when helping out a friend that doesn't know his own strength.
Always keeping it real. Love it. Never give up.
Captain great video lots of family fun! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Family Time is the Best Time, Loved It!
Wonderful mix of work and fun. Forgetting after 5 secs, trust me I can forget whilst it still in my hand.
Good to see that you was having fun with your family
