👴 Old Composer Reactions 🤘
his reaction to the key change in creator was pure gold
Agreed
"alright then!" was also my reaction when i heard creator for the first time.
Creator makes me feel like a steampunk villain is showing the hero around his lair as he talks about his ideals and as the music becomes more intense his insanity and true nature show over his flamboyant nature.
🟡
So the Once-ler biggering
@@SprayInk-Kreatïv-Nouveau as much as I don't enjoy that comparison it isn't incorrect 😔
if thats the vibe creator sets in prescipice is when the main character/hero is discussing with the villain at the end of a long fight about whether or not he should continue with his plans and its working
Thats literally what I was thinking lol
The last three tracks, the music discs, are songs played by in-game items (music discs (item) that play in a jukebox (block)). They only play music when the player finds them and actively chooses to play them, so they aren’t really background music, but they are in the game.
As a Minecraft dev my favorite sort of recent track is - A familiar room by Aaron Cherof.
I'd love to have you listen to that and hear your thoughts about how it resembles the oldschool tracks vs the new school!
Hey Oscar! I was wondering, do composers know or choose in which biomes their tracks are played? Both Aaron Cherof and Lena Raine mentionned having the trial chambers in mind while composing (the former even stating that "Deeper" is her visualization of these) - yet there is no structure dependent music, hence my question. :)
@@Zamburger Thats a GREAT question!
I don't think we play music for structures but only biomes. I don't know anythinghow much they know about the structure. If I had to guess third party people know way more than they used to, sadly that's mostly a guess and I have basically 0 knowledge here.
@@CeilingPanda Ahh, thanks anyway for the answer! :D
@@CeilingPanda They playtested a lot, they said, so they had a decent knowledge going into this
I honestly love these new tracks, especially the music discs. they are so different from the rest of the discs that it really makes you feel like from an entirely different era, as if your taking a look into a long gone culture, as someone who's really interested in history/archaeology and cultures this really intrigues me. I would love it if they add even more little nods to who created the trial chambers and such, since they look so different from any other structure in the game. Creator is my favourite of the new discs, the instruments they use remind me of street performers. also if you listen closely you can make out people speaking in the background as if this was a live recording during a performance. I might be talking too much now but I just genuinely love these tracks!
could you provide a timestamp to the point where you can hear the voices? I can't quite find it
@@Annexialol its around 50:08 he speaks through it a bit but you can still hear them
I found it😂 It's a guy doing the sound that he repeated😂 The odd sounding one. You can hear it happen a second or more before he makes the noise😂
really like Lena's pieces, especially deeper, it feels true to c418 to me, but also original at the same time.
Absolutely
48:09
Creator 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks
Tkx man
@@Demoniocx 🤝✨
The percussion at 53:52 is how I would imagine music to go with Aperture Science typewriter turrets, if such a thing existed.
Very true
Creator is GOAT🎉
On God
I'm French and I came across your videos a few months ago on your analysis of Hollow Knight. I really like the analysis you provide and seeing you discover music that I already know gives me great pleasure. I don't have enough opportunity to see you live but I hope that you will continue to enjoy offering us your quality videos.
Komorebi actually has a reused melody from Comforting Memories in the Caves and Cliffs soundtracks. You love to see leitmotifs finally returning to Minecraft.
I was so happy to hear that when I first heard that track. Comforting Memories is one of my favorite tracks across the entire Minecraft soundscape, and getting this reflection of it made it feel even more integral to the game than before.
Also there is a moog city motif in creator
@@bethmassey3299 I can't hear it, where in the song is it?
Deeper plays in caves, including the deep dark biome, where you find ancient cities
Does it now, where did you find that, on the wiki?
Never knew that was the case, always thought it was just a normal 1.21 track playing wherever you are in a survival world.
@southernboi8154 actually I was wrong here, it is EXCLUSIVELY a deep dark music
@@ariel2179 huh, interesting you found that out.
I don’t think the piano in most of these tracks is recorded acoustically. I have extensively used a piano VST called Noire. So much, in fact, that I can recognize it in many of the songs on this album. The squeaks and creaks that you heard are a feature unique to this instrument, which is what made me think about it. Noire was sampled so well that it is almost indistinguishable from a real instrument, so don’t feel bad for not recognizing it.
Wow, I had no idea about that kind of dynamic built into a module - at least my ears are still "tuned" for an old guy - thank you for letting me know!
Loved watching your reactions!
My favorite track is Creator! It's so good!
I love precipice so much. Its my favorite disc!
Fun fact, a lot of the songs on the 1.22 soundtrack in this video have callbacks or extended motifs of many of the 1.18 and 1.19 soundtrack songs. For example, Endless uses the same melody motif from 1.18’s infinite amethyst (Both by Leana Raine)
35:45 "Deeper, darker part of the game"
You're more right than you think
(show more for context)
Context: song plays in biome called Deep Dark
Why it played when i as on surface
@@erander8522 Maybe it played right before you exited a cave (either deep dark or dripstones)
I would love to hear your thoughts on the many tracks from the old Minecraft Console Mini Games from Gareth Coker.
A lot of those are amazing tacks.
Finally. Someone who appreciates Gareth Coker's Minecraft music. 🥹
Gareth's music is what Creator reminds me of, it's amazing.
Hi. I am loving your Minecraft OST reactions. If you enjoy Lena Raine please check out Chicory. It's such an underrated gem. Some of my faves from the OST are History against us, erase you, probably ancient evil and sips river.
Sitt'n, listening to Precipice while eating peanut butter off a spoon. Sounds bout right XD
precipice : YOU MADE IT 😀😀😀😀😀
A lot of the ambient tracks play in the mountain biomes, and some of the others just in cave biomes.
Lana is absolutely fantastic
Anyone who says otherwise is wrong, then it's just a personal opinion
She's done such a fantastical job with the music
"This is not very minecraft" isn't valid
C418 has left his mark and will always be remembered
But change is good
Of course it doesn't feel like Minecraft, it is new. In 5 years it will fit in just fine and people will be complaining that 1.26 doesn't "feel like Minecraft"
4 and a half minutes into featherfall really affected be with some sort of peace, nostalgic vibes and some good vibes, something about that song just makes me feel a certain type of peace which ive never had before.😊😊😊
Puzzlebox literally gives me shivers, it's probably my favorite track in the game rn, even dethroning c418's creative tracks for me
'Dethroning' sounds too hostile - I call tracks like that 'Worthy Successors'.
Idk why but creator give so much 90s france vibes
I think this is to me the best soundtrack Minecraft has put out since Rosenfeld.
puzzlebox really reminds me of flake by c418
this has brought me somewhat some old school platform game ost feelings
They should release a rock version of Creator
48:01 Creator.
Why no body put It?
They're prioritizing the real instruments over the synth noises.
Endless has a part thats the same as a part of infinite amethist song from the caves and cliffs update by lena raine too, but the song its like darker
Deeper and endless are my favourite songs, and create its my favourite disk song from this update because of slime rancher vibes and the guitar, those are the best parts for me
also precipice has a part that sounds like a writing machine or its just me?
Hey, the piano is actaully the Noire Piano VST by native instruments!
You should try checking out songs for the game My Singing Monsters, it's quite popular and I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy it, including myself!
For the regular tracks aaron cherof has been killing the vibes that the original minecraft ost by c418 had

Please, listen to Michael Giacchino, at Medal Of Honor Frontline OST.
Try this tracks:
Border Town
Manor house Rally
Operation Market Garden
Hey. Whay if Jeebz play the telltale Minecraft game.

Do we ever listen to any Nils Frahm?
I really like featherfall though, is that judt me!❤😢😊😊😊😊

Please react to minecraft Volume Beta
at out po int you get out of sync...
The new music is decent..wont reach the levels of c418 and lena though...is this a spinoff game or the name of the update?
... 3 of the tracks are from lena
Name of the update btw
You dont want to give the new composers thier acolades so much so that you say they arent as good as thier own composer, Brst believe if they all had c418's name on it you would have no qualms suddenly
its the update 1.21
I respectfully disagree with your opinion.
I sort of agree: I like the new music but to me they all feel too much like background music as opposed to C418's music which to me always felt like "forground" music if that makes any sense; like _you_ were playing in the background of _it._ It almost feels like they're making music _about_ Minecraft instead of _for_ it... like they're trying to replicate C418's musical style instead of replicating the emotions that it envoked. I do like the new music but it still feels out of place whenever it plays, even years after it's been in the game (including lena raine's music tbh, besides her nether stuff which works perfectly; those replicated the emotions of C418 instead of the style)
Old mine craft music are better. (sweeden) (key) moog city) and more
Okay child
Both (old and new). Both is good.
Both are good
@@Such_Savagery old is better, and more nostalgic
@@playy28 you are blinded by nostalgia, I pity you
