May her soul rest peacefully.. She broke barriers, so deep, that only a superhuman can. Iranians are brilliant in math, and Prof Maryam was one of the best in math.. RIP.
Thank you for these explanations on the work and unfortunately very short life Maryam Mirzakhani, a most valuable daughter of the Iranian people. She is a source of great inspiration for using our imagination for discovery and enhancing life across the borders of the human mind and the existing world order .
"You can do it, even though you'll be the first one." I really like this quote! Edit: Also, Math is my favorite field in STEM. It's always really awesome to learn about figures I don't know of!!!
Revisiting these STEM History videos, and love them just as much as the first time I watched them. I know you've got more than enough projects going on all at once, but this series would an AMAZING book.
I don't know how I ended up here but I loved your video and description of Maryam. I remember those days Dr. Firouz Naderi, an Iranian-American NASA scientist, posted on social media that Maryam health wasn't any good and just days after posted that Maryam had passed away. we were seriously crying. I remember when she won the medal back in late 90's she was on state tv and I was so excited about their accomplishments and that I kind of knew them since my brother had close connections to their team of young Mathematicians and their mentors at Sharif university. I was already in love with Mathematics and watching these young mathematicians was really motivating at the time that I was preparing for university admission exams, even though I ended up choosing engineering.
I m watching this bcz its related to my chapter....but I think everyone should watch it ...Maryam was a great mathematician she is inspiration to all of us...I am an Indian ...we respects her aibility...May her sou; rest in peace...RIP
Far too often, teachers confuse slow learning with lack of intellect. Even Einstein admitted to being slow to grasp new concepts, but few people claim to solve problems harder than Einstein. There is too much of a rationalist/reason craze, and almost no emphasis on empirical intuition and the problem stems from biases in psychology and cognitive science, an intellectually lazy public, and big business who promotes adaptive/training speed as opposed to development of intuition within complex skill sets.
Story of Maryam makes me confused about life & God.... Why do some good & brilliant people die so early and some jerks or dishonest people live up to 100 years?.... Why?

God bless her soul, she will be missed!
Our brilliant minds die young, while uglyness rules the world.

I cried a lot, though I don't know her. She is the ONLY woman with no headscarf (hijab) photos in Iran public.
