I love Homunculus, the second omnibus is really hard to get through. It is the most intense of the series, it’s also super sexist. But it for a reason it illustrates a lot about Nakoshi. It really sets the stage for his downfall. I’m eagerly waiting for the last omnibus. I like your videos a lot, thanks for making them
I love that you unhauled stuff that you enjoyed but not enough to keep - I'm trying to unhaul things and struggling a lot since I like pretty much all my series but there's a bunch that I haven't picked up a new volume for in a long time due to being more hyped about other series or new series instead. I need to try to be a lot more brutal with that I keep or unhaul!!
My rule is pretty much if I’m not going to read it again then there’s no reason for it to be taking up space that could be used for a series I really love.
I’ve let go of some of the same series for pretty much the same reasons: Sensei’s Pious Lie, Run on Your New Legs, Wandance, Portis, Tropic of the Sea, Be Very Afraid of Kanako Inuki, and Homunculus. I feel when other people unhaul the same series I feel a little more justified in my decisions.☺️ Those TokyoPoop spines are terrible! 😂
r u gonna be talking about DRCL in the next reading log? ur the best mangatuber i know when it comes to darker/horror manga so ive been kinda waiting to hear what u think before buying lol ive been thinking of unhauling 10 dance as well but i think the art is so pretty so unless i run out of shelf space imma keep them
Not my next reading log, but definitely in that Try a Volume video I keep talking about. I’m guessing it will be the next video after the October reading log. Sorry for the delay, a few of the manga I wanted to talk about didn’t arrive on time and I wasn’t able to film last weekend so my schedule got a little messed up, but I’m definitely still planning on talking about it in a video.
I didn’t finish the latest volume of Homunculus, I flipped through it to see if that story line was going to end, saw it got worse and then got that series out of my house. Not for me! Valiant Must Fall was something I was thinking about picking up, now I’ll check it out in person to see if it works for me. Good info in this video!
That scene in Homunculus was unbelievably long, by the end I was flipping the pages at light speed to get past it. The physical release for The Valiant Must Fall is really nice so I’m disappointed that I didn’t love reading it.
I've been really liking The Valiant must fall and the release is great, but I understand it's quite an info dump of text at times 😅 Honesty, I'm wondering if to wait on Homunculus to complete it's release and make my own verdict but i kind of guessed where the end of the first omnibus might be going and I think the 2nd omnibus has been met with quite a lot of negative reviews because.. assault? I don't know if thats worth the hurdle. I think the hardest thing with selling more for space and potentially better reads is, it becomes more and more tedious/diminishing over time with the whole in and out so I've really slowed down.
The main problem with the second volume of Homunculus is that the “bad” part takes up about 80% of the omnibus, completely derailing everything that was being built in the first one. I’ll talk about it a little bit more in my manga reads video. I’ve also read reviews that had negative things to say about the later parts of the series so I have no interest in spending any more time or money on the series.
Double was pretty good, I just didnt think it deserved to stay in my collection. Btw im going to be movibg my manga subs over to my msnga channel so from now on ill be commenting through that channel. I unhauled a lot myself recentlu
Oh wow I didn’t know Double not finished. That’s sad when that happens. Also just two years ago I would still say I wish we had more lgbt media & now I’m like way to many to keep up with. I am trying to train my brain differently to not have to pick up everything. I’m so used to it since like you said we didn’t have many back than. It’s like a good yet bad thing all at once lol ❤❤❤❤
Yeah the last few months I’ve had to be more selective with all the manga I pick up, if I bought absolutely everything I was interested in then I’d be drowning in books lol
Koimonogatari english volumes are really ugly lol but I still like a series a lot. It is not really a romance moreo of a selve discovery type of storynso I guess people dont like it that much for that reason? Also it has horribly slow release...
I did notice that in a lot of the reviews I read people will complain when the romance isn’t moving but that isn’t a negative for me personally. For Koimonogatari I just didn’t think it was going to become a favorite if I read it and I’ve had it for a few years so I decided to let it go.

Seriously, I’m terrible at art or anything related to graphic design but I can tell when a book cover or spine is ugly lol

I’m not gonna lie seeing boy meets Maria and koimonogatari Love stories hurt 🥲 but space is a must with manga so I get it 😭
I quite liked reading Koimonogatari but never picked it up as I don't think it's going to be something I'd re-read much.

I recommend the live action of Double with Kento Nagayama and Chiba Yudai! It's really good.

I usually sell them on eBay or Mercari, but sometimes I give them to friends or donate them to my local library

I’ve unhauled quite a few good series just because I need the shelf space for great series. It’s a constant battle lol
