Jak 2 - Restoring the unused zoomer hijack voice lines

- Jak 2 has a lot of unused voice lines. Jak has about 15 unused lines that would have played when he steals a zoomer and the citizens have a few lines that would have played in response to that.
For fun, I added these voice lines back with a random chance to be played every time Jak steals a vehicle. - Ігри
Can't wait to hear Jak say "outta the car b!tch" when taking a vehicle in game lol

I like that everyone calls them “vehicles”
Probably why the lines were cut lol, it sounded awkward and they couldn’t re-record voice lines to call them “zoomers”
Krimzon Guards still call them vehicles in the final game.
But they are vehicles in a sense.

This is really cool! It is so alien hearing new voice lines from a game I played so many times. Hopefully, this can be released in some form once Jak II is complete!

Only showing them for now. It could become an option to have them play in the finished game, but not sure yet.

GTA franchise has been with hijacking voicelines since from GTA VC and no one did find it annoying for 2 decades.
@@helmenhjelmen1955 Well you're playing as anarchist character who heavily damaged the city to the end of Jak 2, so that is the last thing come in everyone's mind.
@@xXSilentAgent47Xx I bearly understood anything from the game when i played it as a 6-13 year old. English wasnt exactly my first or even second language so the story itself was pretty hard to understand until i was a little older. I just thought jak is the hero. And that there is no gray area.
But voicelines such as the once in this video would be enough for me to understand that he was actually taking them. As an adult do i find these voicelines kinda edgy so happy they never got it.

yeah because Jak is a bit of a dick in this one and also stealing. Being nice isn't really on the menu
@@2sallads I always thought of it as "borrowing" for a greater purpose lol. Jak is literally saving their city after all they'd all be dead without him... But as a kid I used to just sit somewhere and change hover zones to wipe the bikes out of the air which wouldn't have an excuse LOL

I actually learned something new, holy shit. Why did ND scrap these. This system was perfect and would have complimented the entire nature of the game.

Yes, these are all still in the final build. There's a ton of voice lines in the final game that remain unused.

I actually think it was the right choice to not include these. Having Jak be snarky about doing these to innocent people would be the straw that pivots him from being a liked edgy protagonist to just a pure unlikable jerk.
It's why I picture him doing this only to the crimson guard.
I think it's great for his character, the only thing we really saw about him being any different post-prison is like the first two missions and when he gets irritated with Kiera before that one race where you play as Daxter. I feel like they should have had more instances where he just seemed like a douche sometimes for no reason, it would make more sense from a story position, especially since even after the light eco "balances him out," in the third game, he's still the same exact personality.
Like they could have made him a little more of a dick to Daxter, and Daxter kind of afraid of him. Would have had a much better bar to start at for actual character growth.
Interesting as they are, I'm already sick of them after this video. In the game they'd get annoying very quickly.
If possible they should have a really low chance of triggering.
Nothing here is going to be set in stone, you can always change how often civilian/jak's voicelines triggers. GTA has always had these kinds of voicelines, but I can see how quickly it would be annoying after hearing the same lines over and over, although you don't really hijack in this game very often. I'd personally prefer to reduce civilian voicelines to be triggered perhaps 1/6 or 1/4 of the time and leave jak's the same. Maybe they can have voicelines alternate between or trigger in a different way. Either way, this option doesn't have to be black and white, all or nothing. You can always change how often and whenever

Wow! with all this cut content and AI voices Jak 4 can definitely be made by dedicated fans. It would be hard and would take a few extremely talented and dedicated people to create the proper framework that captures Jaks moveset and features, etc. But I really think it can and should be done...
Making an original market-quality game the size of Jak isn't a fan project

Holy shit I had no idea this was a thing, this is so cool! Man it would have been awesome if this was kept, I've always found Jak too silent in-game and wished he had more voice lines, I'm pretty sure the only times you do hear him speak in-game are in the mission where you protect young Jak, and the races, and those moments almost feel jarring because Jak is so silent in gameplay for the rest of the game.
