I do the same, it was all I had for fabric the first time I ordered dye. I just need a better way to store them, at the moment they are just in a ziplock bag.
I have a problem with the washout process. It doesn’t matter how you set it up to tell what the colors are, when I go to wash them out, I can’t see the sharpie any more. So your idea, Angie, is great. Only do a couple of darker colors at a time. I still have samples that I have no idea what colors they are because I did so many at one time. Thank you for this video my friend!!!!
I'm glad it was helpful. Yes, it can be very tough to tell the darker colors sometimes. If you do them in batches with colors that look very different, most of the time you can use the process of elimination to determine which color the really dark one is.
How do you store your swatches? Mine are just in a ziplock bag but I was thinking of putting on heavy card stock and holding together on a hinged metal loop. I would love to hear about different ways to store them.
I have so many that I have a dedicated table for my swatches. I have them sorted according to color families. So I will have the purple liquid stack next to the purple ice dyed stack on my table. I've seen people put them on card stock and hinge them together though and that looks really cool.
@@Aquabluesamaroo1 That's usually the way it starts. I started by buying just a few dyes, then over the years it started to snowball and somehow I ended up here. I think it is great to be organized, especially as your collection grows. 😀
I use size 4x Tshirts wash, dry, sa, then I cut them in 4inch squares. I use shirts so I see exactly what the color is on a t-shirt
That's a brilliant idea! 😀

@@FunEndeavorsthank you! I’m just a novice that bought a bunch of dyes just to have fun but at the same time I want to be organized 😊
