So, my current channel - the niche is childhood. I interview people on their childhoods. The second I'm about to start is on cologne; I love fragrances and am passionate about them! I would love some help; a mentor; a sensei!!
I talk about a subgenre of hip-hop called Boom Bap on my channel. I have 2 of the 3 P's but not profit just yet. I have a digital product and merch. Haven't made many sales yet. I need to find a good brand to do affiliate marketing for. I was surprised that the last time I checked my CPM it was like $10.35. So the first bit of money I make might come from adsense. Hopefully I'll start making some decent money in 2024.
This is just knucklehead positivity. 99% of people won’t succeed. If you want to succeed you need to be exceptional. Be exceptional if you want a realistic chance of success
i think u should restart ur channel this is just knucklehead positivity. (as the other guy said) you will not grow in any way like this since you are not special.
My plan is to have a couple of channels. One, the niche is travel, focusing on road trips and camping, visiting national and state parks and enjoying nature, while still working part-time or full-time. Another, the niche is DOT Consulting for trucking companies. For the third, a good friend of mine and I want to craft and do reviews of kits, tips and tricks for learning different types, etc.
Our niche is homesteading, focusing on helping others achieve their homestead goals and help them become more efficient and self-sufficient from garden to home. I just joined VRA a couple days ago, I'm really excited to expand my youtube knowledge, grow our brand, and make it work as a business.
Fine-tuning my niche is one of my top goals for January 2024. I'm grateful for the guidance and help I get from Think Media and all the cohort at VRA! Merry Christmas one and all, and a Happy New Year!
I have the niche finder course and it's so so good. It was super important for me to remember that not every passion can turn into a profitable UA-cam channel.
Our biggest breakthrough so far has been identifying how to niche down. Now that we have landed in the space our creativity is starting to explode. We are stoked with this knowledge as we move into 2024! Thanks for the video!
Thankful Sean and his team at Think Media are putting out these great resources. I was stuck on what type of channel I should create. The 3 steps helped me go through the process of figuring it out. Thank you guys!
I think niche is good. I've been a graphic design instructor for some major creative schools and if I were to make a niche it would be to be a design mentor having been in the industry, taught it, and have won many awards for my work. For me, the niche would be about activating creativity because you can learn new programs and applications and what I don't see higher education in the design world doing is helping students with conceptual design- the ideas that sell.
I started a UA-cam channel to accommodate my watercolor students. I never really planned on much more than that. It is amazing to me all the other ways that you can make money besides Adsense. That was my only goal for a long time. So glad I signed up for VRA!
I've got my niche figured out and thanks to the previous challenges hosted by Think Media, I've started placing them in categories, the way I would in my blog. Now to get the profit part moving up!
This is a fantastic and informative video. Thank you Think Media and Nolan for your time, generosity and insights into the makings of a successful UA-cam channel. Like many watching this video, one resolution of mine for 2024 is commit to improving my UA-cam presence and never look back! 🙏🥳You did an excellent job of making this complex task seem more achievable - I'm grateful for your assistance and interest in helping all of us content creators improve our YT presence. I've taken many notes from this and I'm sure it will be helpful to my journey of growth on UA-cam. Many thanks and all the best in your endeavors!
My niche is supporting Christian moms in Bible Study, praying, and living a Christian lifestyle. I started my channel in 2023--in 2024, I have a plan for consistency.
Just applied the niche down move to a client, even added to my solution's pitch "I Only do this, not that". I can feel the push/pull of the psychological mechanics. Super cool!
In 2024 I'd love for my channel to go from just a "How To" channel to a more community based one. My UA-cam Channel is for beginners learning how to use the different Social Media sites but my demographic are Baby Boomers and Seniors. Since people of ALL ages watch the vides I'm having a hard time speaking to just those in my demographic. So this year, I want to be more consistent and truly start to build relationships with my subscribers. Another channel I'm thinking about creating is my Faith Based one as well. Helping women overcome fear so that they can start walking in boldness and confidence with the gifts God has given them. Be Blessed, Audrey
Niching down is such a tough thing to figure out, and it does seem like the algorithm/audience will give you live feedback on what your niche should be - through views and comments. Great video!
EXCELLENT advice... This advice can also be applied to EVERYTHING in your life. What is your "WHY"...? Where are you heading? Who do you want to serve?
I’m so excited I purchased video ranking academy this year and am excited about working with you guys. My niche is peri/menopausal women’s health and fat loss
This is a great summary of finding or selecting your Niche. I loved the 3 areas to find your Niche - Passion - Proficiency - Profit. I also liked how he shared his 3 Niches and why. Good Job!
Love it! I've been teaching my clients for years that you need to LOVE what you create a business around, be GREAT at it (or willing to invest the time, energy and money to become great at it), and be able to make MONEY from it. So I'm in full agreement with your methodology for choosing a niche.
My niche is online business, where I document my journey and the journey of those I help along the way in starting and scaling an online business. Once that is established and growing I will expand into outdoor adventures because that is something my family and I love to do and have done together for several years.
This helped me tremendously-there are so many opinions out there and it’s nice to hear a straight to the point video about what’s best as far as niche goes.
That's definitely something I need to continue to work on. Love to do so many things, but then it gets overwhelming, and my viewers get confused. This is one of my goals for 2024, cleaning up my channel niche.
One thing i picked up is building a community and niching down. Also the getting known for one thing - first. Thank you so much for this amazing content😊
If I had to choose one of your suggestions I'd go with side hustles, BUT my brand new (I posted my first video 4 weeks ago) is about self-care for busy mum, ridding ourselves of the burden of the dreaded and unnecessary mum-guilt. It's a well needed topic, and I know I am delving into a saturated niche of self-care, but I have to trust that I have a unique spin on it, and with your guidance, I will flourish within the audience that needs me 😊
My Main Umbrella is Photography/being a Photographer. Under that, my main 4 pillars: • Genres of photography: Landscape/Travel, UW, Astro & Weddings/Events/Portraits. • Business + Productivity (for Photogs)** • Gear reviews (mainly for Nikon Z) • My own YT journey Eventually work this into a Creative Podcast to speak to other photogs, etc. I'd also like to showcase our local community & cultural events bc they're so unique to us (& unfortunately, somewhat fading) here on Kauaʻi. **this could easily include "side hustles" for photogs or beginners to get them started.
It is Think Media who I am grateful for today. If it were not for them, I would of never started. It’s only the beginning, but I had to start somewhere. And why not start with THINK.
I just launched my first Vlog after having a UA-cam channel for 17 years with less than 17 subscribers. The vlog is about what I did over those 17 years and why I came to and from UA-cam several times. Now it’s time to niche down for my future videos and it is hard not going to lie. I have so many interests but I got to do it as I don’t want to be scattered and living with a few 100 views on each video for years.
In my case , I have problems with consistency. I'm a one man show and plan, script and film videos is very stressful for me , I don't know if one day I will get used to do it
I will purchase VRA - so excited about this academy. My niche is Web 3 - the blockchain. I have spent my after-hours to put this strategy together. In the past, I did blogs all random, learned from your guidance to work efficiently, with a niche, and am looking to learn. The mountain is steep, but your videos not only motivate me, but give me the tool chest I need to succeed. My professional careers, technology, and finance make me uniquely qualified, but the pivotal piece is my personal and long-term desire to see a global blockchain and document this new global journey. Cannot thank you enough for providing VRA to new YT Creators.
The Venn diagram was very helpful to visualize where you need to focus your attention if you don't have all cylinders firing. Start with passion first and then working hard on monetizing is my next goal.
Fine tuning my niche over the past couple days to becoming a filmmaking & photography channel with reviews and content based on the Fujifilm camera system and lenses ! Eventually I will branch out into more camera brands and gear !
I am so appreciative of the Think Media Team for putting on the 12 Days of Christmas and recommending this video! It has helped me think about my niche and what I should do! This was an empowering quick video! Thanks!
This is super helpful! And I agree, the randomness has already brought me burnout in the past lol so rinse and repeat with one niche to start makes sense. Thanks for sharing!
This video has helped me a bit, but I'm still struggling to get going. I won't give up and will continue to find something that I can bring to UA-cam. Thanks.

I feel I am proficient in each area, but I'll probably start in the business or health areas because I've been working in these two areas the longest, and I do have people ask my opinion or advice in these areas.

Great video. I can relate. Was posting all kinds of video when I started out and my channel wasn’t going anywhere. But over the past couple months I niche down, started posting weekly and I must say I am getting views and subs.😊
Thanks for all your amazing content! My niche is for women who want to be more prepared for emergencies and who are interested in becoming more self-sufficient. I have been using your training to get ready to launch my channel in January.
I just wrote down my three niches. I’m a Conscious Creation coach committed to helping young adults and their families (adults) befriend their shadow self, utilize their higher self and tame and realign their untamed minds to consciously create their realities. This video helped a lot! Thank you!
Great video on niche! I SO wish I would have picked a niche FIRST, however, I am SO thrilled I just hit record and got started as the niche has found me over time! ;)
My niche is intimacy and relationships... so that is what I am doing and will continue to do as there is a huge gap and I see a lot of topics related to intimacy which are missing... So will try to fill that gap. I am passionate about it, proficient with the topic and this space will help me to earn a good profit since this is a burning problem with people. So it will go a long way and I am sure about it.
I have the hardest time with finding a niche in everything I've ever done. As a musician I had a hard time choosing one style. As a Realtor, now, I have a hard time choosing a focus. Now, as I create content for real estate, and a reading channel my kid wants to do, I still struggle with it! Is it okay to start making content in the general category and see what sticks? As in, which videos people like most?

My niche is on women struggling with relationships…especially if there has been infidelity or the partner has sex addiction.
Frankly, these days it seems like the best niche is in teaching others how to grow a channel.
lol Bingo! After all, that's what all the content creators are dying to figure out.
I have been thinking the same thing lately
🤭
To the person who is reading this, don't give up on your channel. Keep going, Its going to be better. 💯

Niching down is really important but kind of difficult specially if you are a multi passionate person.
My niche is supporting Christian moms in Bible Study, praying, and living a Christian lifestyle. I started my channel in 2023--in 2024, I have a plan for consistency.
What's the channel name? That's something I'd subscribe to.
This is a very interesting concept. Since extra channels are essentially free. More people should be doing this.

I appreciate all this info - thanks for explaining the importance of having a niche and sticking to it. We will be fine-tuning our niche in 2024.

Narrowing all my ideas down to one niche has always been my struggle. Thanks for the great info and encouragement!

I still don't have a defined niche... but I'm trying to figure out how to put my spin on homemaking, gaining homesteading skills without a homestead, and being a mom in Appalachia.
Choosing a niche of something you could talk about with friends endlessly is the best for sustainability
I have a passion for small business startups (the right way), DIY health strategies, and DIY meal preparation.
I feel I am proficient in each area, but I'll probably start in the business or health areas because I've been working in these two areas the longest, and I do have people ask my opinion or advice in these areas.
The reference to a profit-mindset was great. I have a bit more than a few passions but not being able to make ends meet. Looking fror more than just a profitable hobby -- I do need a profit making mindset.

I appreciated this straightforward approach about niching down. It made sense and will give me direction
"Niche-ing down," seems so frightening, but I agree -- it's noisy there. But "All For Them," makes good sense. I'll nail this down this week.
I’ve been all over the board trying to land somewhere but this is helping me begin to focus. Thanks!
This is a great video! Clear and to the point with powerful advice! Thanks Nolan!
