- Hi fam, my friends at CarTrimHome sent me some more products to review and in this video we will take a look at the Crystal Shift knob. This is an aesthetic modification to replace the existing gray OEM shift knob. I found the crystal shift knob to have a sturdy build quality and very easy to install with the plug and plug piggy back wiring harness. The 'Highlander' text at the top of the shift knob illuminates when the car is turned on and cycles through various colors to give night time driving a fun and colorful touch.

For the cup holder ambient light, is there any other location I can plug the power wire into or is the steering wheel the only location? Thanks
@@buttonsama5751 for the lights I used per directions only steering wheel harness was used, no other option was indicated

Actually you don’t need to even remove the pin, you can just push it to the left a bit (on the left side of the knob) and it comes off. I’ve probably removed mine about 20 times by now 😅

Would this work with a 2015 highlander platinum?
This specific product was designed for 4th generation Highlanders 2020-2023, not sure if it's compatible for 3rd Gen such as 2015. I would guess that it won't work.

It said not suitable for XSE. But shift knob same as all trims. Why?
@@sasha85ful Must be slightly different wiring that is incompatible with the aftermarket harness? I know there are other products that don't work on XSE because of this reason.
@@vietbubbleteaI watched again. You connected only one plug to it. Second where?
@@sasha85ful Yes, there is only one plug but it's possible that the wiring harness has a different pattern in the XSE. You can ask CarTrimHome directly for more XSE customers experience as to why it's not compatible.

I’m wondering if what you do with your vehicle will avoid the warranty? Because I asked my local dealership and they told me if they find any aftermarket wiring in the car they will not touch the vehicle! I
The world of modifying cars will always run the risk of voiding warranty issues but a dealer would need to provide evidence that a mod directly caused an issue before they decide to not repair an issue. For example, they can't refuse to repair a defective rear axle because you installed LED light bulbs as there is no direct correlation. I'd find another dealer if yours isn't willing to at least inspect or diagnose your issue.
Can anyone who has installed this on their Highlander tell me if it is possible to keep just one color on all the time , or is the only option for it to change color?
I've tried to check for myself and it only has the color changing option
My doesn't come with the pin , can I use the original one from the Highlander ?
The OEM pin should be identical and should work. Just give the knob a tug up once installed and if it doesn't fly off, you'll be okay.

Hi guys, I found my gear shift knob is a bit loose. It can be pulled up and down slightly on the stem. Does anyone have the same issue?
I would double check that the shift knob is fully inserted down onto the rod before inserting the pin in because I don't have that problem. Having a bit of wiggle is normal similar to the OEM shift knob but you shouldn't experience any up/down motion if the pin is inserted back correctly.
Just checked a demo from dealer today. The gear shift knob is even looser than mine.
@@jx2398 Are you referring to the OEM shift knob? It should have the same metal pin.
Hi @@vietbubbletea , yes it’s the OME Gear Shift Knob. The one you replaced in the video. When you try to pull the knob, you should feel a little bit movement up and down.
