Since you asked, I would specifically look for a welding helmet that has a cinch strap around the neck. Flux core is quite a bit messier than arc welding, it spits and spatters quite a bit. There is A lot of smoke, it can't be good for you

Just a heads up, the flux core wire goes bad with age, if you don't weld often, you might be better off storing the extra in the main house, it likes to be warm and dry. With the quick charger, they are fantastic when you're in a hurry, but they shorten the life of the battery. If you're not in a hurry, using the slow charger will ensure your battery lasts longer, as in number of charges. Lastly, do yourself a favor, as soon as you unwrap the magnets, spray them with the antispatter, and again when you are welding. Once they get a lot of grinding grit on them they are impossible to clean

Hey buddy, yes I’m sure it will take some serious practice to make some decent welds! Keep telling yourself you need one and you eventually will! Lol 👍👍

You have a welder, make you own table. Great project and can make it the size you need for the shop.
Highly recommend the better grounding clamp.
On a side note, my table has a separate ground cable that is bolted to the table that I can hook up when using it.
Have fun and experiment it a lot of fun. Woodworking for metal guys.😂😂😂

I was checking out videos on some of those $70 Welders they got on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. Thought it might be a good thing to have for simple things.

You got a steal of a deal on that grinder! Also I’d like to thank you for the kind words and shoutout I really appreciate it! That welder you picked up will serve you well. The homework you did was spot on. Lincoln Electric is probably the best you can get when it comes to wire, and that anti-spatter spray will pay for itself on the first use (something I’ve failed to buy so far). I guarantee you however that you’re gonna want bigger/stronger magnets down the road. The tiny ones just don’t hold things in place too well.
When it comes to helmets I’d recommend an auto darkening one. As a beginner it’s made welding so much more enjoyable so your not constantly taking the helmet off to see where to start welding. Lastly I’d recommend one that has the biggest field of view possible. Great video Tom👍

Great deals on all that, it sure pays to wait sometimes. You’ll have to put it all to use and make a welding project video. That dake is going to be awesome, wish I had room for one. Congratulations on all you new tools Tom. You’ll get years of good use out of them.

People always tell me I'm terribly lucky because of the service I get from the businesses I patronize. It's dumbfounding to me how people can make it 40 years on Earth without realizing that basic politeness will get you quite a long ways. It takes no additional effort to simply smile and ask someone how their day is going. That cashier is making $10 an hour, they don't give a shit about the stock ticker. Your average customer these days is just flat out rude and entitled. I don't get it, it doesn't cost anything to be nice, it does nothing to take away from your own happiness. Hell, You might even find it improves your state of mind to be kinder to others

You're so right in what you've said. Being polite and articulate makes human interaction pleasant and worthy. You tend to get this in return from people who in turn want to help you. You make long lasting lifetime friends this way. I don't mean the 'friend count' on all the social media nonsense either.

If a Lizard Brain Caveman like me can weld huge buildings without them falling down a Genius like you will have no problem.
