@@TomGunnTools I can't wait to see them this has been fun I like doing these videos talking about history you are very knowledgeable!! Thank you so much!!
I believe that Bushnell makes tools for gunsmiths I wonder if same company looks like great restoration I also like channels like CP the tool Addict and Scoutcrafter Luke bew high end tools and I also love the older tools a little more and have a blast restoring old tools locks and other trinkets
Bushnell is an optics manufacturer/ brand and as far as I know does not offer any Gunsmithing tools. Vaughan & Bushnell has been a tool manufacturer specializing in Hammers and other striking tools since about the 1880's.
Tom- I love those style pliers, they are so handy for many projects. One project I suggest for the Dake is making a small box next to the Dake to place the compression handle, the hook on the side is basically meant for transportation but when you place the pump handle on a solid surface next to the Dake it will change you life and make it so much easier to pump and control the pressure. It was the best thing I ever did! Awesome stuff!
Those pliers look fantastic now Tom! You’re already an old pro on that Dake too. Man I want one. Weird about the Vamplier like teeth. I guess it’s just a similarity. Take care 😃👍🏼
I think really what they did is either invent something they didn't know already existed, or just implemented a design in a new way. Took something people had been using for an unintended purpose and tweaked it to better suite that new intended purpose.
Hey Tom. Just got a bench grinder and want to start some basic tool cleaning and restoration. Can you recommend which kind of wheel to put on both sides? Thanks
Look into getting a stiff one (the one I got is a dewalt) and on soft one (I have a cheap brass coated one from harbor freight). Then you can look at getting a fiber wheel.
Those pliers are ready to get back to work. Again the dike does a fantastic job. Side note: I’ve noticed the audio in your videos is perfect, what’s your camera setup? Do you run an external mic?
Hi Cody, appreciate the comment on the audio as I was curious how it sounds. All I use is my phone no external mic. I am cautious to try to speak the same volume and keep the same distance from the phone as I speak.
👍
Thanks!
Great job Tom.
Thanks!
Cool history lesson!
Thanks Kent!
Colluding with the tool addict hahaha I used those gas and burner pliers for everything at my grandparents house

Glad you enjoyed! They are definitely not super common but they are out there.
You scared me, I thought the jaw snapped when it slipped off the plate on The Dake.
Haha, yeah I need put a spacer next time to keep the plate from sliding.
Haha! I did too! Glad it came out all right.😄
Extremely beautiful pliers. Good tip with the curved piece of wood for the rear of the handle 👍👩🔧
Thanks!
Very good episode, thanks
Thanks Tony!

Nice work, You have me looking at the Knipex pliers now....
You won’t be disappointed! They are amazing Sparky.
I'm trying to save money Tom, maybe I'll find some at a carboot sale 👍 😁
Nice arbor press
Thanks Dale, it is super handy!
Hello Tom Gunn Tools
I got your channel info from CP the Tool Addict and subscribe.
Thanks George!
Looks great! What vertical belt sander are you using?
I use a couple but they are both 42 inches. An old delta/Rockwell direct drive and Dayton belt drive.
