this is a 1000 times deeper than anything that is jump up this music was about power and force and taking you to that edge modern dnb inc jump up isnt trying to do that benny l is with his stye but this music your right this is something else the whole time was
I recall hearing this track on pirate radio circa 2001 and never being able to find it, only the other (imo inferior) version. There was a guy called Black Lodge who ran a record shop in a basement on Oldham st in Manchester, now sadly no more, who eventually found me a copy. Absolutely buzzing, rinsed it out at free parties all over the shop. A real hidden gem for the tru heads.
It was seeing the Valve sound system in a tiny club in Edinburgh that got me into dnb in the first place...always been into techno and hardcore before then. It was one of the most bowel shattering experiences of my life, and changed my opinion on this music genre forever.
@Clarke Lewiss ur pretty right on it jungle has led alot of music over the years a beautiful and diverse genre one u gotta understand and aprciate before u dip ur toes gotta enter the jungle to find the truth
Massive thanks to the uploader, I'm not sure if you realise how important this upload was. This is a massive choon! This stuff got me into Metalheadz and the whole dark DnB thing. Thanks so much, love it man!!
I've seen all your comments below. All i know is - there are 2 versions of this tune The original is well known. This is rare. And is a rework of some description. This was uploaded in 2010 and disappeared. The tremor bassline is the key - its not a well known version - but if you know your jungle - you recognise.
This is the first I've heard someone speak about the other (original) version. I remember hearing it at Metalheadz sessions but it never sounded like this. The version I heard back then still sticks with me to this day. I never heard it again. This version, in comparison to what I heard, just doesn't hit the spot. Did the other every get a release?
Could you elaborate pls I’ve always been interested in more info on which areas were instrumental in jungle/dnb I know about hackney and Tottenham being important and Bristol but I didn’t know about newham
By the way, this is the remix version, one of the most sought after and rare tracks available. I am not sure you realise how important your upload is. I have been after a decent version of this for years. Your title needs amending. 1000% awesome.
@Clarke Lewiss oo get you mr Badass Junglist. Since you seem to know so much about jungle tell me how many weeks did valley of the shadows stay at number one on the one in the jungle show? If you don't know the answer then you must be a * checks notes * fake jungle child. But if you do know i'll send you a cookie and a certificate that states you're a real junglist.
To put into context - your incorrectly labelled upload is something I have been after for around 10 years. And I am sure many others. This is the REMIX - please adjust the title, I only found this by mistake.
Google search Essential Drum & Bass Six-Pack Vol. 2 look at track listing's track 2 cd 3, I explained in the title that on the CD I've uploaded it from its titled (Dillinja and Lemon D - That Amen Track), My mate as it on vinyl and took the picture in the video for me of the label, and as you can see in the video picture on the record its titled as THAT AMEN TRK !! - (???) leaving people guessing who did this rework of Fade 2 Black. So I put Dillinja and Lemon D as the CD said and the track name as the Vinyl said. If I put (???) as the artist people searching for Dillinja and Lemon D tunes would never see it, I pretty much grew up on this tune and to me it is the measuring stick to judge all other drum and bass tracks against. How would you have it titled?
Wow. I have put 3 comments on this upload, all bigging you up. The point is - this is the only upload of this track that exists. And this is the rework / remix / latest version of the tune which I have been searching for, for ages
I have nothing but respect for anyone that loves this tune, the tune this shares elements of and a rework of is Souljah - Fade 2 Black its also on youtube, I can't call it Fade 2 Black remix because its its own tune and has its own title. Did you look at the CD I mentioned and the picture of my mates vinyl in the video, The tune shares the vox/fx sample and the first bassline the amen breaks are not as much pitched down and the drums altogether are more intricate the 3rd part of this tune has a completely different bassline to Fade 2 Black also, I don't think Fade 2 black is as good as that amen trk !! this tune was mastered much more lightly and has better dynamics for that reason but many disagree and say Fade 2 Black is better, There was an upload of this tune already on youtube but the video was probably done with emphasize music button pressed on movie maker crushing the dynamics and not sounding clean I did this upload to get a nice quality version on youtube.
Absolute banger puts the 2022 jump up to shame
