4,000 nm on a narrow body? So much for comfort. I did it on a LAX-AKL round trip on a 787, and it was tight to my taste. But I guess after enjoying many years crossing the Pacific and Atlantic on wide bodies, I would have ot get used to, as it is the unfortunate future.
A modern narrowbody such as a321neo and a220 is actually compareable to wide body in terms of comfort for cattle class. Only exception to that would be A380

The XLR will primarily be used to access new destinations currently not within range of Icelandair's current fleet. Places like Miami, LAX, San Francisco etc. I think Icelandair made a big mistake investing in the 737MAX which is obviously a different type rating than the XLR.
Mexico City has three airports, two of them with runways longer than 14,000 feet. The other has runways longer than 12,000 feet. I think the XLR will handle it fine.
I love the guy. I will try to fly it when back to Iceland- didn't like the MAX on the route. Flew 767 and it was by far the best experience. It roars on take-off, push you against the seat and so roomy during cruise. One of my best flight experiences ever
There’s 2 historic narrowbodies that actually could do even better albeit their quads and with higher fuel capacity; the DC-8 Super 70’s (the -73 was the largest aircraft until the 747 started the widebody era and remains the longest narrowbody ever built) and the 707-320B Intercontinental
Who would replace the 757-300? And the answer is: A321XER the extra extended range A321NEOs and the reason why Airbus should make A321XERs the extra extra extended range A321NEOs because it’s not about the range it’s about the length
They must duplicate that stunning Aurora and Glacier liveries onto the A321XLRs. Best liveries in aviation
I agree with you. I hope they do too.
They wont because of their new garbage livery
It gets close to the wunala days of VH-OEJ.

The 757 is like that old uncle who is 50 but think he's 25
Nailed it! Lollll 🤣😆🤣👍🏾
Yeah, and still performs like he's 25 too. The 757 is the most overpowered airliner, much more powerful than some A321.
@@thecomedypilot5894not to mention Actually has crew rest areas for its crew. And can fly faster the the a321 with its dull nose.
@@GabbieGirl007 Exactly.
@@thecomedypilot5894 being overpowered does nothing for the airlines. All that does is burn more fuel and increase cost.
Where would i like them to fly? I have always wanted to visit Bouvet Island....
I would like Icelandair’s A321XLR’s to fly from Iceland to Sweden.
They already fly to Stockholm
A kind of short hop for the A321XLR.
Maybe to SNA? I've seen A321neos able to takeoff and land with the 5k feet runway Hopefully the XLR can come through
Dubai would be nice, connecting Iceland to all of Asia through Emirates
Maybe Easyjet could start buying these and running some transatlantic routes.

replacing the 757 with A321XLR is like replacing a Corvette with a Golf GTI
Imagine an A321XLR flies 8,700 km at 850km/h, that’s like about an 11 hour flight nonstop !!
If it could fly to Houston IAH would be awesome to visit Iceland.

No reason to pick the A320NEO over the MAX. I think MAX performs better.
I think the MAX 10 can replace the B763s given the missions that they currently fly. The A21NY (A321XLR) can do KEF to SFO.
@@thecomedypilot5894 Yep, the MAX performs better at sudden diving with no pilot input. Junk those obsolete stretched cr4p.

Forget about Mexico City, there's no way any A321 (let alone the XLR) can takeoff from that airport elevation with enough fuel to reach Keflavik
757 doesn't have the fuel to reach MEX from KEF nonstop in the first place. At least A321XLR should be able to do that.

The runway in Nuuk is currently being remade to allow for larger airliners to land there right? That would be cool.
